    Daily fish taco special
    Sarah M.

We loved this place!! We stopped by for lunch on Friday. The atmosphere was great and the service was even better. We ordered chips and guacamole, as well as a plantain to get started. Both were fantastic! The plantain was super unique, but perfect perfectly cooked. I loved the pineapple salsa that came with the plantain. For entrées, we ordered chicken Tinga tacos, as well as the daily fish taco special. Everything was delicious but the fish tacos were the winner! The fish was prefectly crispy and the slaw had was delicious! So, so good! We will be back, soon!!!

Visited a "new to us" restaurant this week. Kind of a mid-western take on Mexican food. A brewery as well, of course, with two TVs... one for motocross and the other for the Red Bull channel. There on a weekday night so it was relatively quiet evening. Great service, good food, and a nice selection of beers. What more can you ask for? Go check it out!

Mole, beer flight, hubby and a glimpse of the verde.

I hadn't realized this place is owned bu locals but a nice homage to one owner's Mexican heritage is the name and cuisine. The folks are really friendly and food/bev very good. I had a flight of beers including Mex and American style lagers, Märzen, and an amber. My favorite beer style is the Oktoberfest Märzen, but I was surprisingly impressed with the Mexican lager. It was much better than any others I have tried. This one was a bit more malty than others, not the 'let's throw lemon in it and call it Mexican' type I've had elsewhere. The food was excellent as well. We both got enchiladas, 1 pork with verde sauce and 1 chicken mole. Not many places in the midwest do mole - they even asked me if I knew what it was when I ordered - I guess they've had some people not happy with a chocolate-based sauce. That said, this mole was a bit heavy on the chocolate, and a bit sweeter than others I've had. But I really liked this creative take on the dish. The restaurant is a big room with the brew tanks about half floor below the main floor, and nice spacious bar on the right as you walk in. Near the front, there are 2 nooks with what looked like 2 x 4 people seating. I assume it was quieter in there, but we didn't have noise issues because it was late on a Tuesday. Clean and modern feel and a creative mural on the wall opposite the bar. We will definitely go again!

I have to say in 30 years of visiting micro brewerys this is my first that was a true Mexican brewer were the food was authentic Mexican, my Braised Beef burrito with Guacamole was so good I could have eaten another plate full. You have to order with the QR code at your table or go to the bar and order thier . Service was good . I can see why they have not moved out of the covid area with QR ordering good help is so hard to find . Liked the Ambiance loved the mural on the wall. Looking forward to seeing were they go from here . The brew was outstanding .

Burrito de Pollo with a side of avocado crema

I am giving 3.5 stars. The food here is hit or miss but overall, we liked the vibe and the building/location. The burritos have fried potatoes in them and we didn't care for those at all. However, the chicken quesadillas were the best quesadillas we've had in a long time. The shredded chicken was very juicy and flavorful. Ample cheese. Large portion. Trust me, get the avocado crema as a side for dipping! Also, I really liked the house salsa.

Short rib enchiladas. Hear me out- I know it looks like a pile of baby poop, but MAN IT WAS DELICIOUS. 10/10 recommend.

Short rib enchiladas were phenomenal! Absolutely loved them. Price was a little steep at $22 I thought, but still glad we gave them a try. The ambiance of this place was very unique. It was open to the brewing equipment so you can watch from above, but it still felt quiet and comfortable. We're from out of town but we felt like welcomed locals walking through the door. Beer and marg were delicious as well.

Salad was Great but the crema was too spicy

Overall i think this is a great experience. Pro's are: Quick service Outdoor seating Fun vibe Unique food menu Prices are reasonable especially for TVC Guacamole and chips were yummy Bison chorizo flautas were amazing Burrito el pollo was great Cons: Everything was pretty spicy The salsa verde on the breakfast burrito was a surprise. Good in small amounts but too much for me unfortunately The crema on the salad was also pretty spicy and most of the salad went in the trash. I think this is definitely a repeat and the patio is exceptional. Unlike some folks who complained about paying with the Toast app, we liked it. No waiting for someone to come to your table. Order what you want and don't tip on the app if you don't want to. You can add the tip after the meal and close out your bill.

    A great flight

Brewery #270 We came here after getting lunch across the street at Slabtown Burgers for a flight of beers. Loco Boys has a nice outdoor patio and spacious indoor area. Their beer menu was also quite large and I wanted to get a second flight but we were in a time crunch. In my flight I got a Dirt Over the Shoulder(Golden Stout), Ay Papi Chulo (Mexican Lager), Vintage Value (American IPA) and a NIEBLA (Hazy IPA). All of them were really good but the Hazy and Golden Stout were my favorites. The people were extremely friendly like genuinely happy that you were there. My only regret is being full before coming in so I wasn't able to try out their food.

This was our last stop on our most recent visit to Traverse City. We ran into it quite by accident. And a pity too because had we known about it sooner we probably would've visited more often. The menu looked really delicious and I love the open kitchen concept so you can see everything as it's being made. We weren't terribly hungry so we just got a basket of chips and salsa and it was wonderful chips were crunchy and perfectly salted and you have several choices of salsa in varying degrees of heat. We shared a flight and tried out some of the beers, which were all quite good as well. We will definitely be back the next time we come into town.

No one greeted us on a Friday night when we passed the outdoor sitting area to take a seat inside for drinks. Several signs indicated that you could order drinks or food via QR code or at the bar. You can also pay via the Toast app. The only table service was a server bringing your flight. They were out of their flagship beer, so I had a 4 sample flight of average craft beers. Lot parking. Indoor/outdoor seating. What is the Toast app defaulting to a 22% tip for? No thanks for stopping in or come back soon upon leaving. It's very uninviting. Don't worry; I won't be coming back.

Me and my family went back to Loco Boys recently after first coming a few years ago and let me tell you, it was better the second time. We were really lucky to go on a beautiful day right before sunset so the outdoor seating was lovely. They have a nice array of beer which are necessary to pair with the flavorful burritos and tacos. I got the veggie burrito which was very good but could've used a wider variety of vegetables in its filling but that's really splitting hairs because it was great and I'd definitely order again. The only major critique I have for Loco Boys was that the side of "Beans and Rice" was lackluster. This may have been a misinterpretation on my part but when we got the beans and rice we were expecting a pile of beans and a pile of rice. In reality, the side is a bowl of beans with a few grains of rice sprinkled in it. It was very tasty but not what we were expecting. Overall, a great summer spot!

Fabulous bluegill tacos with apricot coleslaw. Mmmm

Stopped here while visiting from out of town. The servers were awesome and we had their Bluegill tacos special...it was absolutely delicious. So good in fact we ate there two nights in a row. Great food, great beer, great service! Highly recommend!

Cute outdoor area, food was good. Margaritas on tap and beers. They were able to accommodate my dairy allergy and the guacamole was amazing.

My mind was absolutely blown…read more I love Northern Michigan for a number of reasons, but I never imagined I'd include Mexican food to the list. This place definitely is an undiscovered gem. We ordered the fajitas, a burrito, and tried the famous white fish taco. I mean- White fish taco sounds good, but there was something truly magical about that experience. I'm struggling to put it into words even now. You just have to eat it to believe. Honestly, the location for this place seems terrible. You'd never know it was there unless you went out of your way looking for it. It's hidden in a largely empty plaza, and I drove the car past three times before we finally spotted it. We placed our order at the front before seating ourselves. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful as we decided what we wanted to order. The food came out hot and amazing. Oh it was such a surprise and comfort. I just really wish they offered horchata. l was just really in the mood for a horchata to complete my meal, and this would make it a homerun for me. But the food was so rewarding, I can get over myself. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town. Baby Tag Along Edition: Bringing in a carseat for our little one was easy enough. There are tables inside to eat and plenty of space for us to bring the carseat inside with us. I only wish they offered the Carseat Cradle that would let baby sit with us at eye level.

Although it originally hails from Cleveland…read more(which we've also visited), the flavors and service have carried over beautifully to Michigan. The vegan options here are fantastic. I love that I can choose the Thai chili tofu as my protein, and it's actually good tofu -- firm, crispy, and flavorful instead of the usual mushy version you find elsewhere. The customization is another huge plus. You can load your tacos with far more than the standard lettuce and tomato, choosing from a variety of slaws, salsas, sauces, and toppings. My personal favorite combination is the Dirty Sauce (definitely spicy, so be warned!) with lettuce, poblanos, onions, and the corn mix. The tacos are generously sized, so 2-3 will leave you completely satisfied, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This is also a perfect place for larger groups or families. We have friends who love bringing their kids because everyone can fill out their own order form and customize exactly what they want. I have to recommend the salsa roja and chips as an app. It's easily one of my favorite salsas. It has the perfect consistency with just the right balance of spice and sweetness. We love coming here and highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed!
