Such a cool place!…read more I visited the Michelin Raceway recently as my cousin was set to race in the MotoAmerica Superbike Speedfest competition. Prior to the invitation to be a spectator, I didn't even know that this place existed but why would I? I'm not a super fan of bikes or racing, I barely like to drive, but I am definitely in the minority as this place was PACKED. I always forget how big and devoted the racing community is. Totally makes sense that the track would need to be in the boonies because they need all of that land that they have, and more! When we arrived, I was incredibly impressed with how organized and official it all was. When you pull in, there are a number of attendants in booths that check your ticket and parking, welcoming you in with your wristband and any other items needed for the event. We then passed another access point with an employee who waved us through. What I wasn't expecting was the insane parking and navigating through the area. Again, there were hundredssss of people there with bikes, trucks, RVs, etc. etc. My sister and I searched for parking but even with help, we still had no clue where the best place to park was. Although we had some sort of special paid parking that we covered in advance, there wasn't any blatant signage that helped us find where we should go. As I was 2 months postpartum upon our visit, the idea of parking back in the woods and walking 2 miles to find our family sounded terrible. At some point I threw caution to the wind and parked in one of the grassy lots that I believe belonged to participants, but I was willing to take the risk, lol. The section where all of the participants and their teams dwell was such a busy area but still well-organized enough that it didn't seem congested. We stood in a grassy area behind the fencing and were able to see the bikers up close and personal as they bended the corner, a high-anxiety moment filled with lots of excitement! Beyond the race itself, there were over a dozen vendors serving up pizzas, sweet treats, beer, liquor and more in the main common area. Along with the bites and bevvies, there was a small carnival-esque area with rides for the kids (and kids at heart) to burn some energy. As this was a family-friendly, 3-day experience, I thought that was such a cool addition. What I noticed most as we walked the grounds was that it was incredibly clean out there! With so many people in town for a multi day event, I'm incredibly impressed that they even had the streets tidy. Although I'm not a racing enthusiast, I really enjoyed my time with my family out here. Beautifully laid out, clean and full of thrills, totally worth the drive from ATL!

A little bit of options we're healthy enough even for a gluten free people. It was so good and also lunch was phenomenal for that chicken. I entered thru the grandstands and eventually made it to the pits. I rate a race track on the following: parking, facilities, concession stands, service, and entertainment. This track passed all of these. I was able to park in an area where I could easily leave when I wanted to. No need to pay for parking across the street from the pit entrance which was charging $2. Just park at the main entrance for free and walk over to the pits from the grand stand area. This way you can walk freely wherever you want on the track with a pit pass. They had bathroom facilities in both the grandstands and pit areas. There was running water with soap and paper towels in the bathrooms. The concession stands were easily accessible and had great food with manageable lines. The food was great as I got a corn dog and a hot dog for my two visits to the concession stand. You can also get canned drinks like cokes, Sprite, mellow yellow, and mr pibb. Everyone was in a great mood including the people that work here. I had a good time walking thru the pits, talking to pit crew members and drivers, watching the cars in the pits, seeing the haulers bring in the race cars and of course watching the races. Jonathan Davenport won the late model race this Memorial Day 2016. He put on a good show with David Payne by passing him with a slide job to the lead. I was very well entertained as I saw a great race.

Prepare to get a little dirty as the seating is old beat up wood bleachers. They've got food and drinks and the kids are welcome too. Parking is a big ol field and you can sit wherever you want in the stands. Be warned though if you're in the corner turns your gonna get hit with dirt/mud as the cars drift through the turns. This is defiantly a place to come for a good ol time. I'll be back to see the drivers battle it out!

Depending on how many tracks you've been to could determine your experience. Ive been to paved and…read moredirt tracks. The Track ----------- This track is dirt and about 3/8 miles oval. If dust bothers you then best to sit up away from the track. There is also less to the right when looking toward track (end of main straightaway). The lighting is pretty good and you can see all parts of the track. The scoreboard doesnt work. Seating --------- There are paved bleachers that you can bring folding chairs. At a minimum bring a cushion. Some people park trackside but that area is only one turn so limited. There is no covered seating. Facilities ---------- Restrooms. I can only speak for the men's but be prepared for the worst. There is basic stadium foods such as burgers and hotdogs, fries, onion rings, etc. Alot of people had coolers with drinks. Parking is free and will be on dirt and gravel. People -------- This is in the country so most are typical country folk. Youll see alot of hats, smoking, etc.

I like this race track. I just wish it wasn't so far from where I live. They have 3 entrances which…read moreis grandstands, tier parking and pits. Signs guide you to where you want to go. The first entrance is the grandstands. The second entrance is tier parking. The third entrance is the pits entrance. I review race tracks on 4 different categories: parking, concession stand, bathroom facilities and view of track. I chose tier parking which you can use your pickup truck to watch the race. I like this in the fact that you can back up your truck and pull the tail gate down, sit and watch the race. I brought my lawn chair and placed it in the back of the truck to watch the race in comfort. One important note is that if you want to park in this section, get here early because it fills up early. I saw some trucks pay and couldn't find a parking place. They have concessions stands in the grandstands, tier parking and the pits. So, it does not matter where you want to go, you can get food and drinks nearby. They have nachos and cheese, hamburgers, cokes, hot dogs, candy, cheeseburgers, hot chocolate, sweet tea, coffee, pop corn and etc. There's usually no lines at the concession stand or not much of one. They have bathroom facilities with running water, paper towels and soap to wash your hands. They have garbage cans throughout the track grounds for your garbage. I saw no lines in the bathrooms. My view of the track was great as I was able to see the race cars all around the track. There was nothing blocking my view of seeing the race cars drive around the oval dirt track. Parking and leaving: There was no problem parking as it is self parking from what I saw. There was no traffic problems leaving either It seems they have big races here and they don't race every weekend. Like them on Facebook to view their schedule. The first time I came here they had the All Star Series here in which the number 157 Mike Marlar won the race. The second time I came here they had the World of Outlaws racing series here in which Scott Bloomquist won the race. They will also have the Lucas Oil Series here in a few weeks visiting. The third time I came this year Donald McIntosh won the Ultimate Super Late Model series race. I went to the pits and talked to Ray Cook's pit crew member who said they had a brand new race car that has never hit the track and they been working on it several weeks. Sadly, it was totaled in this race on 6/18/2016. What I don't like about this race track is that they don't water the track down enough. Therefore, it is extremely dusty that I can't stand it. I can't enjoy the race with all the dust getting in my eyes, all over my truck, all over my clothes and in my chair. Oh, yes, breathing in the dust makes it almost not enjoyable at all. They just need to use more water in wetting the track down and I bet a lot more race fans will show up. It's a shame that they have all these big races here but you can't enjoy the races with all the dust.

A few days before our scheduled time they rescheduled us due to them "having complications with the vehicle" so we were rescheduled for July. We drove 3 hours here for them to text as we were pulling in the parking lot to say the vehicle was once again unavailable. When we got here they said we could wait to drive the corvette because they only have one with too many bookings. Juan specifically made a big deal about my dad being in the corvette line because they wanted him to drive a different vehicle. So not only are they completely overbooked for the vehicles but my dad was next in line- I'm aware they can't control the weather but it started to thunder and lightening and they made us reschedule again for NOVEMBER. So a year after we originally purchased.

Although I'm not a racer, Atlanta Dragway also seems like a great place to run your car - plenty of space for trailers, the track and track management seem good. There's not much in the way of food vendors. One walk-up cafe was open with standard, over-priced food. Except for it being a long haul from civilization, a food truck vendor could do well here. Restrooms are clean enough. Parking is orderly field parking (i.e., find a place to park in the grass/dirt lots). Perhaps it's not this way for NHRA events but for the NMRA/NMCA event I attended, there was a lack of direction for the spectators coming in. It's as if they just sell you a ticket and figure their responsibility ends there. I waited in line driving in only to find out when I got near the front that the lane I was in wasn't for spectators. No signs or people to point the way until too late. When I drove out I figured to take the other entrance/exit road but ran into (not literally) a locked gate. Some signs pointing to open exits would be nice. All in all, I got the impression of a pretty cool drag strip where the facility managers did enough to ensure a great experience for racers and a good one for spectators.

Hope not!…read more This was our first time at this drag strip and there was a trailer about two car lengths long parked in front of the entrance sign which we did not see due to it being blocked. We drove in and parked thinking we would pay at the building by the bleachers. We were approached by a golf cart that had a heavy set man with gray hair and a woman with long brown hair who were extremely nasty and accusatory. They treated my family and I as though we are liars and thieves. I was taken aback at how rude and inconsiderate they were being in front of my children at that. Put more signs up (maybe at the entrance when you drive in and Stop signs on BOTH sides so people know the rules and where to stop and pay when you have huge trailers parked and blocking the one low leveled Stop sign you have. Also, maybe treat people with respect; I would really hate to think these people felt they could speak to me this way due to my skin color - that was definitely the vibes I got!! Shameful and ruined what could have been a great day.
