I was passing through North Georgia and have always wanted to visit Terra Incognita Vineyard after seeing so many stunning photos on social media. Even though they were closed the day I drove by, I couldn't resist heading up just to take a peek. The 1.5 miles from the paved road is a slow, winding dirt and gravel road with heavy gravel, bumpy pockets, and some steep sections. I drive a VW Jetta (a regular four-door sedan), and it was no easy feat--definitely took a beating. It took me about 20-25 minutes to reach the top at a careful pace. I've seen reviews saying it's manageable in a car, but I'd strongly caution anyone with a low-clearance or smaller vehicle: this road is rougher than it sounds. Once I made it to the gate, I parked and walked around. Wow--what a breathtaking, almost magical spot! The panoramic mountain views are incredible, and the whole setting feels like a hidden gem high up on the ridge. I'd love to come back when they're open for a proper tasting and to enjoy the views with a glass of wine. Next time, though, I'll be sure to bring a vehicle with better ground clearance--something like a small SUV, truck, or 4WD. Totally worth the adventure, but be prepared for the terrain!

Amazing. Family friendy. Great wine. Loved the chard and true north. Great views. Its the whole package. Stumbled on it by mistake but was a highlight of the trip

A friend and I went for their harvesting day. We had lots of fun! Unfortunately, the wine tasting was closed. So we did not get to experience the service or the ambience.

My mom and I had a really great time and some really great wine!

We had an excellent experience here last night. It started severely storming on our way up the very remote mountain road to the tasting room and we weren't sure how we were getting back down. The owner offered to drive us down or allow us to follow him in his truck, since we were there at closing, since my driver was freaking out a little bit. He helped calm her down and it felt like he actually cared about his customers. Because of the rain we didn't get the crazy long-distance sunset views I wanted but it was something to see the wind and rain moving through the treetops. If you are feeling adventurous one day, it is worthwhile to brave the storm and check out the alternative view. Also, the wine was actually good. I sampled everything from a beautiful cab sauv to a dry blueberry wine that was fantastic to a dessert port that was a little sweet for my taste. Now I need to figure out how to order it to my house and we'll be all set lol

This tasting room has the views. Nestled in the heart of the national forest the views are amazing. And the wine is unique and full of flavors. Excellent service on the tastings with full background on each variety. Well worth the trip to the top.

This is by far the most non-conforming winery in GA. Located in the total middle of nowhere, stunning views and actually decent wine. Kids friendly place that is totally worth the drive.

So on this visit their tasting room was closed for a wedding so we were on the hilltop across from it. Awesome views but a little disappointed we didn't get to see the the tasting room. Next time! Their wines were pretty tasty. My fav was the cab. Great spot to chill but beware the drive up and down. It is definitely off roaring.

They offer pre-packaged charcuterie which was a very nice and welcome addition to the delicious wine available for tasting or by the glass. My favorite wine was the Great North followed by the rose. This beautiful venue is a family owned establishment and we had the pleasure of meeting and being served by the entire family. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this vineyard is. If you are looking for an event space or just a lovely way to spend the day this is it. We did a mushroom hike/class here as well as spending the day on site.

We stumbled on this place after a hike at Minnehaha Falls. Best decision ever! Chris was super nice and helpful and the wines were amazing. Definitely options for any pallet. We had the flatbread pizza and it was very fresh and packed with flavor. Not pre- made. You can actually choose your sauce. I highly recommend this place - they views are worth it alone but paired with good wine, food and live music is the cherry on top. There is quite a drive up the hill and the road is not paved most of the way but again totally worth it!

Excellent people, lovely wines, beautiful setting. I popped out at this place after a hike and my wife met me there. What an amazing way to finish a hike. Talk about trail magic! Go there , now.

Love this vineyard! Everything was 10/10! Viewed it for a wedding venue, and also did a wine tasting. Highly recommend both! It's family owned and operated, everyone was so warm and welcoming! The views from the event pavilion and the tasting room were breathtaking. The interior of the tasting room is gorgeous! I prefer my wine on the drier side, so I absolutely loved the cardinal direction and the true north. I also recommend the compass rose for those who like something not too sweet, or too dry. I cannot say enough good things about this vineyard!! We cannot wait to come back!

We took the dogs for a day trip touring some of the pet friendly wineries in North Georgia and this was our last stop. Do not let the long winding dirt road deter you from visiting. This winery has one of the best views you will get to see. Very comfortable atmosphere and everyone was super nice and helpful in choosing the best wine flights. They have a great selection of reds and white along with a few sweet wines. One of the more economical flights in the area. Will definitely be back to visit soon.

    Flatbread and hummus

We had a lovely time hanging out here after a day of hiking! We did a tasting which included six wines and their wine glass. I also had the flatbread and it was delicious! Gorgeous views, good wine, friendly folks and pups. Worth the gravel drive!
