First incident: Your security guard was "patrolling" the parking lot when he stopped me while I was walking my dogs--not for any safety reason, but to ask my opinions on genders and pronouns. He was actively tallying responses on a piece of paper, suggesting he had already approached multiple people. This was inappropriate, uncomfortable, and completely unprofessional. If an employee is bored, that does not give them permission to corner pedestrians with personal or political questions. Second incident: An individual driving a clearly marked Lakeside Bank company SUV was speeding recklessly in and out of the parking lot, showing zero awareness or concern for pedestrians using the sidewalk. At one point, he pulled out directly as I was crossing, forcing me to yank my dogs to a sudden stop to avoid being hit. He made no effort to slow down or acknowledge the situation. This level of disregard for pedestrian safety is unacceptable. Third incident (and the final straw): My dog briefly stepped several feet into the edge of your parking lot to sniff snowbanks pushed up by overnight plowing. We were no more than 6-10 feet in when one of your Temu-Tim Gunn employee pulled up beside me, stared aggressively, rolled his eyes, and literally shooed me away with his hand. He then rolled down his window and said, "There's a sign that says no dogs, can't you read?" His tone was condescending and hostile. He continued mumbling as he drove off. This was unnecessary, disrespectful, and embarrassing behavior from someone representing your business. I acknowledge that this is your property and that you have a no-dogs policy, but the way I was addressed was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. I could have been asked to leave respectfully instead of being spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner. Lakeside Bank, this is not how you treat the people who live in and support this community. Locals are the very people who advocate for businesses--and right now, your staff is doing the opposite of earning that goodwill. Additionally, your signage claiming "We love dogs but not in our parking lot" comes across as smug and disingenuous. You do not "love dogs" if your response is to aggressively chase people away, refuse to use dog-safe salt in the winter, and allow employees to act with open hostility. Between inappropriate political questioning, reckless driving, and disrespectful interactions, this location has a serious professionalism problem. You need to do better--because this behavior is absolutely unacceptable in this neighborhood.
