No wonder they call it the YMCA of Greater Toledo, because Toledo really is much Greater because…read morethis gym exists. I can't believe I'm saying this, but... This gym is one of the best YMCAs I have ever used. It's not shiny and new, nor is it the largest, nor does it have the most equipment. But everything I used was in good working order and well laid out and easy to find and obviously these people care about their patrons. They let me enter without calling my home gym to verify me and I appreciate the trust. Just a really great bunch of people. I even had a long extended conversation with the guy at the front desk about how he used to live in Buffalo on the west side and how it has changed over the years. He hasn't been back in decades. I had just driven from Buffalo that very night. They open up at 4:30 in the morning which is excellent. They have some cute show offy girls working out here, wearing outfits that are against the rules, and that you would not see in my home gym. That was pretty awesome actually. And there are always staff members on the floor who know everybody by name ready to help out. They don't know me by name of course. But maybe they will, after this review. Now I think this gym is great, but I have to go and do something even greater. Or should I say, someone.

I have been sending my son to Kidzwatch, Perrysburg since he was 10 months old. He didn't have any…read moreproblem there until the management changed recently, about 5 or 6 months back. All the old girls who worked there have been replaced with new ones and the new girls are inexperienced and inefficient to say the least. They're extremely rude. My son's dad is outside the country due to work and so my son, who is extremely attached to his dad, is unable to see his dad for the last 3 months and this has made my son suffer from feelings of insecurity and abandonment issues and his emotional problems have turned worse due to the negligence and ill-treatment he suffered at the hands of the girls who are working in Kidzwatch now. My son is four years old going to be five years next month. Kidzwatch does not have the facility to accommodate children above 2 years. They believe that a child above 2 years is going to stay quiet like an infant all through the day without engagement in any activity. They would make children sit in front of the tv expecting them to be quietly watching tv most of the day. They don't have any playground. The one playground they use is a small fenced out space with nothing entertaining for a small child to do. The two-room facility is so cramped that if you have an active child like mine, he cannot walk or run freely. Their entrance door can be easily opened by a toddler or a small child. When my son tried to run out of the door, instead of admitting their own mistake in not getting the door fixed and keep it child-friendly, they continuously put the blame on my four year old son that he is the one causing nuisance and he is becoming a "liability". I told them many a time that my son is going through emotional problems, but the girls there continuously heckled him. He got so scared of Kidzwatch that at the end he would throw a fit every time I used to take him there. He would cry for hours not wanting to go there. When my friend went to drop my son, the girls there told my friend that she has done a study in psychology and that my son might have aspergers. Another one told my friend that my son is the worst child in the daycare. If they're making these unqualified diagnosis and saying nasty things about my son to my friend, I wonder what were the things they were saying to my son there. No wonder he acts like a scared kitten every time I mention the name of Kidzwatch to him now. I feel sorry for the quality of the service there turning so bad in the last few months. This was the same daycare I celebrated my son's birthday at last year. For the poor service they provide, their price is one of the highest in Perrysburg. Please do your research before sending your children to this facility. PS: I must mention here that these things have been happening to my son ever since the management changed and the old girls like Emma, Brittney and Taylor are gone. The new girls are pathetic. They don't have any experience of taking care of a small child. One girl who stays in the evening sent me a message saying that he is running around and is not listening to her and that I must take my son home immediately. I thought they only send children home when they throw up or get sick.

My daughter has been involved with CTW for about 5 years now. This summer's production of The…read moreLittle Mermaid will be her twelfth play or musical that she has acted in at CTW. She absolutely loves it. Not only does she get to learn from skilled directors and staff, but she has developed friends outside of her normal circle at school. I like that they not only offer opportunities to perform classics like Grease, but they are challenged with other plays that are less known and they have to develop their characters from the script and not from something they've seen already on the stage or screen. CTW also offers opportunities to learn other aspects of the theater such as building sets, sound and lighting, improv, and even writing their own scripts.

And after a couple classes, he auditioned for the Players company play and was cast in 2 small roles. Every child enrolled in the classes, gets a part in the play. Maybe there is more competition in the older classes? I have no idea, but at this level every kid gets a part. The child can ask for a small, medium or large part. So there is still some "competition" if your child wants the starring role but no one is left out. Then they start rehearsals which are 3x a week in addition to the class. So make sure you and your child are committed before signing up. But in a short period of time (I think all told it was 2.5mos), they put on a complete 45 min play, with costumes and sets. My son was so proud to have family and friends come see his play. What makes CTW so wonderful is the staff. They work so hard to help the kids succeed. I especially admired the patience and positive attitudes they have with all the kids. My son starts the next session of CTW on Saturday and he couldn't be more excited!

Shady billing, predatory cancellation practices. My family did a two month trial membership here…read morelast spring mainly to use the pool. Pool was fine - looks the same as it did in 1984. However, when we chose to end our membership because summer was starting and preferred to use outdoor pools, we were billed an extra month at over $85 all because some fine print in the Terms & Conditions said members need to cancel not just a full two weeks not prior to the end of a month, but two weeks prior the month's end billing date. No pro-ration, no exceptions. No other company does that. We canceled around June 15 and were billed for all of July, despite not using the facility since May. Gigantic rip off! Attempts at mediation were futile. Front desk staff at Wolf Creek were useless and directed us to the main office. Multiple calls and voicemails to the main office's accountant were ignored. Incredibly disasppointing experience from an alleged community steward type organization. Waste of time and money. Never going again, spreading word of their shadiness. Change the garbage policy.
