The baskets are gorgeous, healthy, and overflowing! They're heavy too! This year we got two at $35 each. They also sell flats of flowers for $14.95 I believe. More cost effective to buy the flowers and build your own hanging basket, but if you don't want to fuss with that they have plenty to buy outright. I went back a few days ago because I wanted to buy some flowers for my planters. The weather has been so cloudy and rainy I never started any from seeds. I was able to get way more than I needed for $40. Beautiful petunias and zinnias! I have a hummingbird that visits our hummingbird feeder daily so I wanted flowers to attract them as well. I still have some open pots so I plan on going back to buy some veggie plants. They accept cash and card. Service is always great too. The man that works there is very knowledgeable and helpful. I told him what I had and he suggested what to buy. He said they only put 3 petunia cuts in the hanging baskets we bought earlier this month. I repurposed a hanging pot and planted one petunia cut in it. I'll update with photo once it starts filling out.

We entered and no one was around. I said "You-Hoo?" and no one answered. My niece opened the first available door and saw a woman in a black skirt suit with her blouse untucked and in bare feet standing over an open casket. This woman came out, still disheveled and in bare feet and greeted us. (We should have left then but they had already picked up the body of my sister. She led us to an elevator, which had a huge bag of garbage on it, and took us to a downstairs meeting room. Among other things, she was not prepared for our appointment. She kept leaving to get things she needed. I wanted just a plain cremation because we were planning to inter her elsewhere in the summer. Many times, she said that "they" could help with that. She seemed to be interested in making more business. The funeral home wrote what I believe was an AI generated obituary after I had given her a detailed statement that I wrote. The saleswoman told us that the home would call when they received the death certificates. They did not. I called and had to pick them up at another inconvenient location. Finally, they did deliver my sister's remains, re-emphasizing that they would like to help us with her internment. Deli8vering my sister was the wrong time to ask for more business. I had to write the real obituaries and submitted them to the Monroe News and the Toledo Blade. A couple of weeks later they delivered an "advertising mug" and a corrected obituary. This certainly was too late, and the mug was in poor taste. Just because Merkle Funeral Home has several locations does not mean they are good at what they do. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

The person who helped us was either elusive or ignorant about the product. We viewed samples online (which didn't list prices) and then called to inquire about costs. The attendant gave us three price points and explained that it depends on the type of flowers and size. That made sense so we told her what size we wanted and types of flowers. Then she quoted another range of prices. When I asked her why she couldn't give us a price she said it depends on the types of flowers used. I told her again what I wanted, exactly. She said they could do it and restated the cost range. Is it not possible to give me a quote for flowers today? Why the range after I chose the size and flowers? And mostly, why cause so much confusion for people who are grieving? I suspect they are gouging. I'll go elsewhere next time.

If you've ever been to Eastern Market, Sochocki's is set up in the main shed. Steve, the owner, has the most stunning flowers you'll ever see! He is there on Saturdays & Sundays. Steve is a miracle worker...he arranged for a special delivery of blue hydrangeas & white roses for my centerpieces. He literally saved me hundreds of dollars and even offered to make them for me, If needed. He showed me a few tricks of the trade arranging the centerpieces.
