Huge rice balls with paper thin slices of fish and the maki was at least a day old. The topper was they don't take Visa, only Mastercard or cash. I made a huge mistake in my life by not checking the reviews of this restaurant before I eat there. That's what we always did before we decided to eat at any restaurants, but I just can't believe myself to be trapped and being one of the victim in this SCAM & DISHONEST restaurant if we can call it a restaurant because to me (and clearly to all of the reviewers/victims of this place) to have eaten at this place was the most horrible eating out experience in my whole life. I will say IF this city will not do anything about this dishonest business scam (they are basically a thief and they don't deserve a penny for the service, which was the worst foods, falsely advertised; what they advertised on the poster menu in front of the place downstairs is not what they served/they claimed that menu was not available, rude server with zero customer skills, also he is a great pretender to be innocent when we complaint about the overcharged prices, we basically got charged for something that we are not even aware that we ordered, SCAM!!!). If we need to file complaint and take action any further, we should get a lawyer. I guess I will do that if I live there, so then no other people will be the victims of this place. But we are visitor like every other victims/reviewers here. Basically the police also recommended for us to refuse to pay before we filed a complaint. Really? Perhaps if we did that, we might get into fight and injure or maybe killed. Anyway, I wish we will be the last victims of this thief business and I hope they will be out of business soon. One of those cases where a 0 star would be more appropriate. No matter how much you are craving sushi, don't go in. Just paid €18.90 for this...(with a total of 8 pieces). One terrible shrimp tempura stick wrapped by rice. The two ends only had shrimp tail so those were just rice wrapped in seaweed. Awful. The menu downstairs is different than upstairs where you actually order and eat. Definitely feel intentionally deceived. For example I ordered the chicken with vegetables and asked if I could have noodles instead of rice. He charged 6.99 euros for the noodles which were awful, above the 16 euros for the dish. So that one dinner was almost 22 euros. I did not eat it. The chicken was terrible too. The veggie sushi was 12 euros. Their spring rolls were very greasy. We spent 70 euros for two people. Please please don't ever eat here. There are so many wonderful places to eat. There was another customer leaving very disappointed and dissatisfied with her meal too. Be careful if you go there (I hope you will never go), because you even won't know what you will be eating or drinking and how much they will charge you. At least we could get some inexpensive, mediocre fried rice. We get inside and are told they only have special set meals, as it's Christmas Eve. Most every place was closed or jammed, and we were hungry. That's our excuse for having the singularly bad judgement for staying in this place. We're too embarrassed to say how much it cost. But the price was not the worst part. That honor falls to the food. Frankly, it was so bad that it's not worth describing. Should have read the reviews before going here. I was with the fam and the €7.80 buffet sounded too good to be true. The food was subpar; aside from the duck, i could have boiled the instant noodles and frozen veggies and applied the sauce from a store-bought bottle in my own kitchen. What annoyed me more than the food was the deception of one waiter, who said they had the buffet going on. The buffet is only offered M-F, but as this Monday was a holiday, they did not. Instead they offered a special: noodles or rice with veggies and your choice of chicken, beef, pork, or fish, all for €9.80. The waitstaff didnt seem to be in sync with the menu or each other. One told us we could use credit card, the other insisted on cash. One said there was buffet, the other said there wasn't. If I can give a zero-star, I would give them that! It is a total rip-off. We ask for tap water and the waiter give us a 0.75L bottled mineral water without asking anything. Wanted to order a 0.3L beer from the Manu and he says that is no longer available and need to order 0.5L (then why didn't they remove it from the menu? We were in a vacation mode so did not challenge him that). Fine, but there is more. He recommended a sea weed salad and when it comes there is very little sea weed on top but all cucumber! This should have been called a cucumber salad and charge much less! He recommended a 18 euro seafood Raman and it is definitely not worth the money. Honestly this is the first time I've came to Salzburg, so I didn't know any restaurant around the town. When I wanted to change some taste since I've had German food for a whole month, I decided to come to this place for that "special priced bento box and noodles". The cheapest meal was around 10 Euros, and for that "all you can eat" advertisement, it was limited to 4 people or more, and 15 Euros will be charged to each person. Honestly, I can have better buffet deal around the town, and everything on the menu was overpriced - a small bowl of miso soup was 4.80 Euros!!!!! When I can get a quart of that for 4.00 at the states. Geez. Also there was a limited selection from the menu as well - sushi was only one type of fish, two types of noodles, a handful of appetizers, in addition to four selection of that stupid combination. So I ordered a grilled duck meal, with miso soup and four springrolls. It was 18.90 Euros. The spring roll was small, little sauce with that and it wasn't even that good. The vegetables tasted like they came straight from frozen vegetables and was microwaved. The duck was average, so is the rice. There was no service, the waiter did not accepted credit card, everything was not a great Salzburg experience for me. I never review places, but this is my first one because I feel obliged to warn others. Based on the previous reviews from others, they are totally true. There are lots of menu options on the street, including bento boxes, all you can eat sushi, donkatsu and lots of "great food" all under 10 euros. Once you walk into the restaurant, which is upstairs on the second floor, the menus that existed on the street no longer are available. The counter girl pressures you to order a drink fast, which I think is done on purpose so that you are sort of stuck at the restaurant. We ordered two glasses of sparking water, which costs 7.6 Euros. Now that I reflect back on my experience, this is the first restaurant where they do not open the bottle in front of you at the table, but bring the water out from somewhere back. We were actually lured into the restaurant because of the bento boxes. When we asked about the bento box, the girl replied that "it is only available for lunch take-away". Really? They should write that on the outside street menu. Since we were already sitting down with two waters ordered, and my pregnant wife was too hungry to look for another restaurant, we decided to give this restaurant a try and ordered from the teppanyaki menu. There is a teppanyaki menu, and the girl will ask you if you want rice or noodles. Later, when the bill comes, we find out that there is an additional charge of 6.9 euros for the noodles. Most restaurants will say that this is an "extra" or "additional" charge, but this was not the case for this restaurant. The sad thing is that the noodles are terribly quality and we did not even touch it. The menu also shows pictures that do not correspond with the actual entrees. For example, the teppanyaki is under the "hot plate" and on the menu, it is on a skillet/grill. When it is served, it does not come out on a skillet. Later out of frustration when the bill came out, I asked the waiter and he responded that "We cook on the skillet inside the kitchen". This is BS. We ordered the chicken teppanyaki, and the chicken fried rice. The quality of the food is bad, and I have never tasted such bad quality food. Although I would never wish that a restaurant closes, I hope this restaurant closes. I have done some research and it turns out that this restaurant was also under the name "Nagano", "Asia Restaurant", "Tokyo Restaurant". Multiple review outlets including yelp and tripadvisor all show an average rating of 1 star. I think this restaurant keeps changing its name so that people cannot read negative reviews before stepping into this trap. Please stay away from this restaurant. I might even consider reporting this restaurant for deceiving business practices to some authority if such thing exists and if I ever find out how to do so. Please spread the word people...
