Once the car was in the shop I was there for another 3 weeks and we were told less then a week. After several times of being told I would get a call by Friday I never did. The car wouldn't turn over as we pulled up. So they replaced the battery and then said it need a starter. We had them fix all that. Which they didn't even start after having it a week. At pick up they did clean the car and looks like they cleaned just the drivers side floor. After taking it home. The back hatch window didn't shut, and the hood wasn't latched. The car doesn't turn over and will not start. We took it in for two rust spots under the door on both sides, for a jeep.. never will I go there again. I had to send my husband for a surprise visit to make sure they were even doing the job. Should have went somewhere closer.

The day after we dropped the car off we got a phone call stating that some parts were broken during the removal and our new total would be an additional $800. The person that did the estimate said he would still honor the estimate since these parts were never discussed that they needed to be remove. I called the shop to make sure that we would not be charged the extra amount and spoke with Tracy who told me that we will have to pay for the parts or they will not do the work on our car. So now they are holding our car hostage until we agree to pay for the parts. Take my advise and NEVER use this company they are very unprofessional and do not stand by their estimate!

The insurance company made us take our car to another body shop in the area. Two days after we…read moredropped it off, they more than doubled their initial estimate. I left D&J a voicemail at 4:30 on a Friday night to get a second opinion. He called me back within 15 minutes and explained all of my options better than the other shop and the car insurance company combined. Then, on Monday, once I had seen the car and taken pictures, he gave me a $100 solution to what the other company wanted $3300 for (and should have seen in the first estimate) and said another piece they claimed needed to be fixed was structurally sound. He offered to work with me to get secondhand parts to fit within my budget if I chose to salvage the car or drop the insurance claim- and I never paid him a dime for his services! I wish I would have taken our car to D&J instead of going through insurance and the other company. They are honest, communicative and truly have the customer's best interests in mind!

I went the next day to get several belongings out of my vehicle. I spoke with Mike (owner) and asked him if my vehicle was totaled. (It was pretty close to being totaled). He laughed and said it was no where near being totaled, and it was only about 5,000 worth of damage. I used to work at a car dealership, I know how a body shop works. They don't want it to be totaled, no money in their pocket. I immediately called Bill's Auto Body and had my vehicle removed from Mike's and towed to Bill's. They did an estimate for 10,545.43. And it only needs to be 11,500 to be totaled. So YES, it was in fact very close to being totaled. Bill's were absolutely amazing to me!
