I went to Tolles a few years ago. I would have really loved my lab if I didn't feel like I was under constant attack the entire time. The ECE teachers are insanely unprofessional and rude. I asked for an extension on lesson plans my junior year because my grandfather had passed away and I was going out of state for the funeral. I was told essentially to get over it, people die and I wasn't allowed to have an extension. My lesson plans were graded unfairly. I would turn in lesson plans that were thought out and detailed and get an F, but if another student turned in the same lesson plan the following week it would've been graded as an A. There is no freedom to ask questions or learn, you're expected to teach yourself. I would not recommend this lab, if you want to work with kids I recommend finding a job at a daycare and going from there. These teachers do not need to be employed there any longer. read more

Back in 2017-2018 I came to Tolles ( I was organically from MP) My classes were okay , My lab especially the main teacher was something else, she would mentally and physically abuse us with her words and actions. We all HATED going into lab, because we knew it was the worst time possible but stayed together and fought non stop- spoke up, and even did something about what was happening. We all wanted to skip lab and go hide somewhere else, it was a nightmare from Junior year into Senior year. When the juniors came thru, the main teacher Mrs. M praised them, talked highly about them and treated them differently then us, while we were getting yelled/ screamed at they got rewards, parties and fun time. I remember when the Lab next to us main teacher got upset with her lab and said "... if you guys want to mess around, acting like kids go next door"! I couldn't help but laugh. My other classes were fun, I enjoyed it because I was with childhood friends/ recent friends. All the labs saw how horrible we were treated and kept saying sorry. When our graduation came around 2018 in may. we all stood in front of all our peers, parents, leaders, other labs and as ECE came up, our Lab teacher Mrs. M slightly grabbed my arm and said " GO" no hug, no sorry nothing in front of the WHOLE school. My class watched as other labs ( teachers) were hugging and loving each one of their students , we weren't. I'm ashamed of it to this day, it's UNfair how badly we got treated for no reason, yes we made mistakes but not to where the own teacher would highly disrespect us daily. We were mentally abused , and I hope who ever reads this doesn't let anyone stop them from reaching their dreams. read more

I went to Tolles last year and it's a nice school. The staff is pretty chill as well! But the ECE teachers made my time there absolutely horrible. I had to fix my hijab one time and the head teacher goes "what you are doing? We're not crimping?" And whenever you ask them to help you find something they get such a rude attitude. I remember I asked them a few times to help me find something and they go "you've been in here for 2 weeks you should know where things are." Keep this in mind these teachers always say, ask them questions, then when you actually ask them questions they act like you're dumb. I felt like the teachers would always embarrass me. Whenever you do one thing wrong they call you out in front of the whole class and it'll be something so small as not closing the cabinet right away. Many students and I didn't like the teacher. 22 students and only 1 of them actually liked the teachers, which is a huge red flag. I don't know how they still have a job because they're so rude and disrespectful. They would BARELY explain stuff to me when I was in a certain area, and when I would ask them questions they would tell me to not leave the area. 2 of my teachers plus my guidance had a meeting with the teachers at the beginning of the year to tell them to be nicer and you would think that would make them nicer. It just made them more rude. I genuinely don't know how they have a job. I was so respectful to them and they would always yell and catch an attitude with me. When I explained to my guidance counselor that the teachers are mean to me, she told me many students have "claimed" they're mean. My question is if other students agree they're equally mean why do the ECE teachers still work there? They don't deserve to work with pre schoolers nor high schoolers. High schoolers deserve to have teachers who care about them and aren't going to get all hot under the collar over something so silly. I remember one time we had a pre schooler who's finger was bleeding so one of the teachers took her in the kitchen to get a bandage, the teacher started screaming. "SHE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THERE!" Now I understand if there was sharp objects in sight but there wasn't and she didn't have to yell especially because she could have scared the little one. Beautiful school horrible ECE teachers. Everyday they would get more strict. The class is not something I recommend. The amount of stress they would put my classmates and I under was insane!
