I stopped here a few times while on vacation to stock the fridge. It's smaller than I'm used to and…read moreusually fairly crowded, but neither of these things are points against it, as it's the only grocery store on the island and therefore likely where everyone who lives there goes for their necessities. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and it was clear as I listened to people chat in line that this was an informal community hub. We got some ciders, watermelon and avocado, eggs, milk, steaks, and some cheese. Everything was fresh and well-kept and delicious except for the cheese, which tasted a bit rotted when I got it home and had to be thrown out. Unfortunate, but it happens, especially if the cheese is allowed to reach room temperature in store. I think maybe the cooling mechanism on the cheese display was losing the battle against the late-summer heat and humidity. But the watermelon was the only one I've found this season that wasn't overly ripe, the avocados were delicious, and the steaks were clearly high quality and grilled up wonderfully. Overall, it's a great little place with a staff that's clearly dedicated to the community they serve. They just need to up the refrigeration a bit on the display for their cheeses.
