I guess I was a bit too young to understand and know about the popular bands in the 60's & 70's, but I have heard this name - "Jimi Hendrix" many times, and especially about his performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock in 1969. As I got older, luckily there's YouTube, and it's just like I was able to go back in time as I got to watch, and see Jimi Hendrix in action. Gone too soon at a young age of 27, he will be forever remembered by his rare musical talent, and he was one of the greatest guitarist in the 20th century.

The Wickers store houses the Lynnwood Visitors Center, as well as a little museum. But, the best part of this park is the bathrooms! They are so clean and well-equipped. When I walked into the women's, I was greeted by the smell of fresh cedar. Instead of smelling like a backwoods outhouse, it smelled like a fresh cedar forest! This park is a really well-kept secret, because it's a bit off the beaten path, but it's an awesome place to have a picnic and take in some history - oh yeah, and if you have to pee the facilities are extra nice!

It's also quite peaceful and just a great place to chill out. The beach is pebbly but it's still beautiful. In fact it may be even more beautiful because it is pebbly. I don't know if it's still there but there was a structure made out of wood probably a few beach combers made and it was cool to take a peek inside there too. Anyway I love Puget Sound and have seen it from all kinds of different angles but I think this spot is one of my favorites if not my favorite at the top of the list. The lighthouse is cute, a nice white painted building with red roof. Not terribly tall or towery like some lighthouses but beautifully maintained regardless. Definitely a stop to make if you enjoy lighthouses and absorbing the water and nature of Puget Sound.

There are a couple of street lamps that also serve as ventilation shafts for the abandoned public restrooms below.
