The previous homeowner had recommended Matthies' but warned us that they were considerable higher priced than other service providers. Despite a significantly higher price quote, we elected to use Matthies' as we assumed they would provide a much greater level of service than their competition. Unfortunately, we were wrong. The service was sub-par and the prices were much higher than their competition. The quality of work provided for lawn care services is not particularly stellar, but the prices were out of this world! After mutual agreement on a 2015 lawn care program, we established Matthies' as our provider of choice, again thinking that their familiarity with our property would be beneficial. They performed a spring clean up and cut the grass for 50% more than the cost of our neighbors virtually identical lawn and then just stopped showing up. They virtually disappeared and we were left to seek alternate service provider mid-season. I must credit them for some of the heavier duty landscaping that they did on our property prior to our ownership which involved building walls and creating flower beds. However, they "stink" at providing more mundane services like lawn care and light duty landscaping tasks. It seems they want to make a fortune from a small job. When the jobs aren't large enough their support is nil. We merely wanted decent lawn care and seasonal maintenance from a reliable vendor. Matthies' did not fit the bill. In summary, they are very high priced and unreliable for "regular" lawn care and "maintenance landscaping."

Two low spots where water pools. Drainage system is working however big holes around drains that will need to be filled next year. Although they said they knew how to install dog grass, they didn't! One of the guys installing was on his cell phone while cutting the grass . We have to have the manufacturer come and hopefully correct it or else we wasted $3500. They were to come back and correct the concrete and they never did. We were left with concrete on our windows and mud on our driveway and street which took my husband two hours to clean with a power washer. They worked sporadically during the entire project.
