We had a problem with our radiator in our van. Or so we thought. We took it in there and They fixed it. But it wasn't the radiator that was the problem. Redd's found the main problem and fixed it, plus added in some basic things we needed, like an oil change and wiper fluid. We had a problem with our second vehicle. Well, are you surprised we took itt Redd's too? And it turned out a minor fix. It was under 100.00 when finished. Really? You can't find anything under 100?! But they were. And it was good complete work! They are very informative, very professional, and very down to earth, explaining everything and making sure you have no questions. They fix it right the first time. If you find an immediate problem, go right back and they will take care of it. They are now on my to-go-to list--if, I just need an oil change. They do it all, like a real shop. My Dad was in the business, so I recognize a good place when I see it. If you are not watching, you will miss Redd's garage!! It's just off 'Sheridan gate'(gate 4) on Sheridan and Ozmun. It's right behind the empty lot where Sonic used to be. Very simple-looking place so it's easily overlooked. Don't overlook this business!

My transmission developed a leak and I had the misfortune of taking my vehicle to this so-called…read moremechanic. Jimmy Ferguson, the owner, promised me my vehicle would be ready in three days. In three days it was far from being ready and stayed in the shop for several more days. I received a call telling me that my car was ready so I went to puck it up. When I looked under the car, there was a puddle of transmission fluid which caused me concern. I requested that the vehicle be put on a hoist so that I could perform a visual inspection before paying the bill. This is when Jimmy became very irate and told me that he would not put it on a hoist and now I would have to pay in cash or he would keep my vehicle and charge me to store it. When I finally got my car out of there and to another repair shop, it was readily apparent that my transmission was leaking and had NOT been repaired.  Come to find out this guy has been sued many times for collecting money but failing to perform proper repairs. Several months later, I had the opportunity to give my testimony against him in court when another person I met had the same issue with him. I have since spoken to several people who have had the misfortune of taking their vehicles to this guy. Quite frankly I'm surprised this guy is still in business if in fact he actually is. My best advice would be to take your business anywhere but Jimmy's Discount Transmission!!

They seem like genuinely nice people however, the owner stated to me that they are not perfect which is understandable. Perfection is not a requirement for thoroughness or an expert working knowledge of the trade being practiced. My advice: if you are looking for a maintenance garage I would pass on this one unless you would like to afford them the opportunity to get extra practice working on vehicles and prepaired for them to find additional issues unrelated to why you have the vehicle there initially. Again, seem like genuinely good Americans however their attention to detail and keeping customers informed of work they are doing without the vehicle owner's approval and/or authorization is lacking.
