Tom Triplett Park is such a great spot for families and outdoor fun. There's a nice paved path that goes all the way around the pond, perfect for walking or biking. The playground has swings and slides that our grandson loves, and there's also frisbee golf, tennis courts, and wooded trails for walking or biking. One of our favorite parts is how close the train tracks are--you can hear and see the train go by, which our grandson thinks is the best! He also enjoys feeding the turtles in the pond. You'll usually see people fishing and plenty of birds hanging around the water looking for fish. It's just a peaceful, fun park with a little something for everyone. read more

We came here Sunday evening for some spur of the moment fresh air and to get active. They have a disc golf course here, my boyfriend participated, I walked lol. There's also a dog park, I didn't bring my dog there but he stayed by me and my boyfriend as he played disc golf. I'm shocked I haven't been here yet. This is a cool place to get your steps in. I've done lake Mayer, but I might like this one more! We plan to go back and walk/ run the path. read more

The park is well maintained by full time park personnel. It is clean and has mesmerizing views and abundant wildlife. There is a back section of this park that is newer built and has additional parking and kids playground. However, sometimes the main road to this back area is closed to the public, perhaps someone forgets to unlock it. read more

Discover the non-commercial side of Pooler! This park has a great walking loop around the lake. On one side, you look into wooded marsh area. This park makes you forget you are in the South with a 50/50 mix of deciduous and pine trees. There is a plaque commemorating the history of Sherman's march in the area. You will find multiple pavilions. With the largest standing out as modern and well maintained. On the grounds are disc golf, tennis courts, and exercise stations. There is a children's playground, but parents should be aware it is not enclosed and within fifty feet of the lake, parking, and train tracks. It is a little odd as the entrance and the length of the park consists of a rail line (yes it is operational). The only reason it is not a five rating as they are going through construction and there are some tarps along the lakeshore. Otherwise a pleasant park to get away. read more

Little gem of a park representing Southern hospitality at its finest: Clean bathrooms, lots of open green spaces, activities (tennis, disc golf, hiking, fishing, picnicking, playground, wildlife viewing). I checked out the nearby Jerry Jay Cox mountain bike trail & really wished I had a mountain bike with me. Park is supposed to be opened at 8 AM every morning. It is now 8:15 AM and there is a line of cars parked down highway 80 and another line of cars in the opposite direction waiting in the turn line to get into the park. It is very unprofessional that the park Has not opened at this time. read more

For Adventure Friday last week, my friend and I decided to check out Tom Triplett Park with our kiddos and so glad we did! Such a great outdoor space to get fresh air and exercise! When we drove in, we passed train tracks and then there were 2 tennis courts by the parking lot. We parked at the main building and made our way down to the paved path. The park has so many great features such as restrooms on site, a playground, benches along the path for snack breaks, picnic tables, covered area for cookouts, walkways out to the water and a bridge in the middle going across the lake connecting the two sides. There were people throwing frisbees all along the property and I was too curious, so I had to stop one person to ask what in the world they were doing LOL. Then I discovered it was Disc Golf. I didn't even know that was a thing! There were people on the fishing piers trying to catch fish and according to the website, it is a fresh water lake, stocked with fish. There are exercise suggestion panel stations all along the way and equipment to do some of them, in case you need some suggestions. It seems that they have two pavilions and a conference room for rent for big parties or gatherings at reasonable rates. There is also a bike trail that is found right after the train tracks, clearly marked. The wooded areas were not that dense, but I would love to explore off the beaten path once I do some more research. Parking - Plenty of parking in their private lot. Trail Description - The paved path/trail is about a 1.5 mile loop (according to their website) around the lake/pond (see picture of my Fitbit screenshot to get an idea of what the trail loop like), but my Fitbit clocked it in at 1.3 miles. Difficulty Level - Easy for all ages. It is stroller and wheelchair friendly too. What we did - Entire loop of the paved path around the lake. We did it in about an hour because we were going at Toddler pace....start, stop, start, stop, squirrel, start, stop, squirrel... Beware - There is a sign by one of the point of entries to the path. There are alligators in the water. I didn't see one myself but every now and then, I would see air bubble surface. Heck no! No need to tell me twice, I'll stick to the path! I was so happy to see quite a few people at the park and we saw quite a variety of birds and colorful flowers that I have not seen before. It was a gloomy morning, but we found all the colors at the park. read more

If you want to run or walk around on a paved path, come on. If you want to kayak: one star. If you want to MTB it here on the trails: they are not kept nor functional. I wasted my gas . Don't waste yours to MTB the trails. read more

We stopped at this park on our way to Tennessee from Florida to break up the drive and let our toddler run around. We were there right at dusk and we felt totally comfortable. There were people playing tennis on lit courts, people walking their dogs and with families around the lake and there were even bathrooms that were relatively clean (better than a gas station or rest stop). There was a covered area with picnic tables and other places to sit along the walking path. Overall we were so impressed with this park and will definitely make it regular stop whenever we are heading north. read more

I went to play disc golf here today for the first time with my friend and his dad. Anyone looking for a place to play disc golf in Savannah should definitely give it a shot. The tee pads were solid, with maps for each of the 3 tee options depending on your skill level. Only weird spot is Holes 14-16, so having UDisc on your phone is definitely a good idea your first time playing. There were lots of people cleaning the course in preparation of a tournament but everyone was very friendly and let us play through with no issues. They also helped us find our direction on the few weird holes. We will definitely be returning to play again and again. read more

I really love this park. It's close to downtown Savannah (about 10 miles, located in Pooler) and has so much for the whole family. I discovered this park while trying to find a good place to mountain bike in the Savannah area. Although it's not a great mountain bike trail, I discovered it's great for a lot of other activities. The mountain bike trail is about a three star trail. If there is even a little rain it's very swampy. The lake at the park has a paved 1.3 mile loop around it. It would be great for children or beginner bikers. There is a nice play structure for kids too. There are two tennis courts. There is a workout routine posted on boards all along the paved loop. They have two sets of bathrooms at the park. One set is by the kids play area and tennis courts in a large building. The others are off the parking area. There is ample parking. They also have a great disc golf/frisbee golf course that is very well maintained. It's a wonderful sport for all ages. It's free and all you need is your discs. Amazon has some inexpensive started discs. read more

They aren't super dog-friendly. They have a designated exercise area for dogs, which is basically a paved road that runs through the park. You can't take dogs around the more scenic sidewalk path around the lake, which puts a damper on the experience. If a dog is on a leash then I don't see why we can't take them around the lake. The lake is truly beautiful, though. You can take canines into the woods, though (or at least no one has ever told me that it wasn't allowed). The bike trails make for easy hiking in the woods and they have markers on the trees so you don't get lost. Just don't go after it rains! The trails get really muddy to the point where you have to wade through, as the land is very flat here. read more

Nice place to take a walk. We had a gathering under one of the shelters and it was shaded and relaxed. Fairly accessible from the parking lot. And there was someone on staff driving around on a golf cart making sure everything was ok. So it felt secure. Would definitely return again. read more

Nice park. Relaxing lake with fish, ducks, and piers and bridges. Track around lake that is nice for a run or walk. You can launch from a dock or from the shore of the lake. One word of caution - this place has strange men cruising and walking into the woods for broad day light rendezvous of my guess of fornication. I have witnessed this on many week day trips at this park. Thank goodness I haven't experienced any foot tapping in the bathrooms here, but who knows. read more

While visiting from Illinois I got to visit this park. It is very nice with a joggers path surrounding the lagoon. However, only ADA service dogs are allowed there. Other dogs are restricted to a small area of the park designated the dog exercise area. I was extremely disappointed. read more

There are plenty of picnic tables (and even some grills) Great place to spend the day when the weather is nice. Someone also rents bikes and kayaks on the weekend. read more

Great Disc Golf Course. Well maintained. Mostly flat course and lots of woods which is great due to the hot weather. Water is in play on at least two holes but not to extreme. Signage is decent for most holes but make sure you locate the next tee signs for assistance. Hole five is about nine hundred feet and the basket is elevated to six feet. But, DO NOT throw your disc to close because it was swarming with tons of huge Japanese bees, the park needs to address this problem ASAP. However, don't let this issue stop you from playing the hole and the rest of the course. We enjoyed the course and will definitely return. read more

Discovered this little gem while searching the web for some single track mountain bike trails. Very beautiful quiet little park. The single track is just over a five mile loop and very fun. I live on the west coast and used to a bit more hills and different types of trails but this is a fun little loop. Very flat and great for a beginner, however offers up some technical stuff as well. The roots add to the challenge. Was pretty dry when we went but could see how tricky this trail could become if it rained and the trail was super wet. Anyway, nice little treat in Southern Georgia. read more

Great little spot to ride bikes, run, picnic, or play frisbee golf. The bike trails are what I mostly take to. They are good when they aren't rained out. It's cool to ride next to the train tracks but safely out of harms way. There is usually a good amount of people there. I would go back and do go back often. read more
