I had a UTI as well so he proscribed me meds that would be okay & safe for first trimester. I ended up going to the ER because of the pain & fluttering I was feeling was consistent and unbearable at times, turns out due to an ultrasound I was 30 weeks & 6 days. He made no effort in getting me an obgyn based on the concerns I was feeling, dismissed all of that & just kept telling me I was pregnant. The nurses took more concern in the pains & concerns I was feeling than the actual doctor. On top of that prescribed me medication that's harmful for 3rd trimester. If he would've actually listened to the concerns I had, took more pride in his patients then I wouldn't have been blindsided by the fact I'm almost due & I wouldn't have been prescribed something that could've been very harmful for my baby in my third trimester. The office women were great as well as the nurses but as for the Doctor, Mr. Badu, I'm very disappointed in his work as a family care provider. Very calm, very well versed and knowledgeable and non-judgmental. I loved chatting with them. I was always cracking up. After a lot of research and talks with my husband (who was quite nervous about home birth) I decided to have the birth at home. Lucinda was immediately available when I called her as well as Brooke. The birth was quick and they let me birth without a lot of intervention which is what I desired. Due to no fault of Big Valley Midwives I became ill shortly after giving birth. I have now worked with hundreds of doctors over the course of my medical school career and I can say this doctor and her staff rank in the top 5 in my humble opinion. To the previous poster who didn't "claim" to have a good experience my response: what does not taking credit card have to do with how good of a doctor someone is? Second you complain about copayment but then you demand to see a specialist when your doctor doesn't feel you need to see one and is probably saving you a copay at the specialists office; remember sometimes what makes a good doctor is one that will not pander to your wishes and actually do what is in your interest and not just what will make you happy at that moment.. Thirdly I do believe these doctor spend adequate time with their patients.. No primary care doctor at any office I'd going to spend an hour or even thirty minutes with you.. You can thank the US goverment for making Medicare and medical payments so little to primary docs .. Trust me these docs spend more time with you than 95% of docs I worked with. All in all these are good docs and staff from my experience with them and my comparison to other docs I have worked with in medical school..From what I hear both Dr.Rai's are some of the busiest and well respected doctors in the Modesto/Ceres area. She ask when patient started like this. Told her when I talk to her sunday but never came. Their on call nurse are not really good . They will come visit, they don't even check patient medication. They don't even ask if patient had a vm only ask what medication need refill. They come in and out. No check on BP nothing. THEIR HOME HEALTH AID ISABEL, AND MARY ARE THE BEST EMPLOYESS THEY HAVE.
