We had a great experience with this driving school for my 16 yr old son. They were kind and accommodating when we needed to reschedule behind-the-wheel lessons, and all the staff are so nice. The driving instructor made my son feel very comfortable and confident. I'll definitely be using them for my other kids when it's their time to drive. read more

They act like you owe them something. They Do NOT appreciate customers, or at least races other than White. I have 2 kids I paid in Full and 5 potential kids that I would have took thier but the way they Lie and mistreat customer's is a Horrible thing. They are VERY ungrateful to customers. We made my sons first appointment for Driving and they said in July. We made the appointment a week ago. Seriously over a month later, thats a Joke! I am just now seeing the owners response to my review from last year but I find it hilarious how owner claims that all bad reviews are from another driving school. He is not professional at all just look at the words he uses on his responses " lol " ????? You aren't texting a friend you are responding to a bad review that was left about your business you should represent it better but then again it's a good thing you are writing how you talk so people know what they have to deal with when going in. Also one of the reasons of why he shouldn't ONLY deal with the student (minor) when it comes to the appointment is because he obviously wasn't able to drive himself to the appointment. I understand about them becoming independent but you can't completely cut me off over and over again when I am giving my son a suggestion of when he should schedule the appointment, keep in mind that we the parents are the ones who have to work around our schedules to drive our teens to the appointments. You talk about great parents who did a great job in raising kids but yet your parents did a horrible one raising you. I never took my son back to this location, obviously we didn't get our money back but that doesn't matter I can tell the owner needs it more than I do so I left it as a charitable donation. After this horrible experience I didn't want to risk having to deal with another unprofessional and rude driving instructor so I was the one to teach him how to drive. My son now drives perfect and is very responsible behind the wheel. read more

These people do not believe in customer service. They trash talked a company that my older daughter had gone to where the owner had just died saying that they were breaking the rules and having more students in the car during lessons. Now when I went with them for my younger 2 drivers guess what, they had a packed car. My kids drove together. Also he thinks all kids are punks. He yelled at my son for a simple mistake while the 1st time driver that was not even supposed to be in the car with them almost killed everyone one in the car 30 minutes later and he said nothing. This is coming from 2 very respectful kids. My kids aren't perfect but they dont lie and obey adults. They dont instruct. They just have them drive around. My kids learned about a movie script Tom wrote and was very inappropriate but my son never learned you needed to pull to the right when an emergency vehicle is coming. They were told if they went 2 miles over the limit on the test they would fail. They literally scared my kids to death and I had to untrain them to drive properly. They are a joke. This is absolutely the worst driving school out there. I took my daughter in for driving lessons and the orientation was okay but the first lesson I already heard from my daughter that the owner (Tom)gave her a offensive nick name using her last name. Later on we scheduled her other appointments at least a month and a half before because of their "busy schedule " but they called us and canceled both of them two days before her appointment. They rescheduled with us but didn't even tell us what days the appointments were and fined us $50 for missed appointments we didn't even know about. We went to go talk to them and toms wife (Bobby) was very rude refusing to cancel the $50 fine and giving us a refund. She started yelling and was extremely rude. Recently I signed up my daughter for drivers education and behind the wheel driving lessons. My daughter took the online drivers education course and obtained her learners permit. Her life circumstances changed and she decided to move away from the area to go to school. She could no longer use his services. I asked for the refund of the behind the wheel driving lessons only. He refused to give me anything or even negotiate a partial refund. He told me he did not care about my circumstances and told me even if my child had died (yes) he would not refund any money. He was combative and not helpful at all. I would never recommend this company under any circumstances. At the business the customer is never right. read more

I came to this driving school back in 2017 so it's been a minute. If anyone still going here I recommend going to other driving schools in the desert or go to driving school down the hill. The people that run this office are professional at first until they get your money and then they are very unprofessional. They will be rude to your kid and if not then talk bad about your kid behind their back. They don't actually know how to teach kids how to drive and their are better schools that actually teach kids. If you really want to save more money teach your own kid how to drive and when they turn 18 then let them take the driving test, but if you want them to get their license early then go to any driving school in then this driving school. Horrible service!! We've had nothing but problems from rude trainers to not doing what they say to wanting a extra 25 bucks each lesson, supposed to be a hour+ training they took him out for 15 minutes and said he needs to practice more, he drives plenty however that's what he paid your company for. Then we call to ask why he didn't receive his certification they say we don't take pride in our sons driving and proceeded to tell us how to raise our son. Guarantee he was raised right with good work ethic and morals unlike the owner of this company and those "entitled" he employs, your company owes us our money back, as services paid for were not met. Instead of them working towards a solution and explaining things they feel they have a right to insult you over the phone a paid customer, and hang up on you. We don't owe your company 50 bucks you owe us a entire refund. I will be reporting your company to the BBB. read more

We used this place for my son. They refused to pick him up in Oak Hills. We set an appointment with DMV for the day after his birthday to get his driver's license. We had the last appointment with Tomco set for 4 days prior to his DMV appointment at Tomco's request. They called and cancelled the appointment. Rescheduled for 2 days before DMV. On our way to the appointment Tomco called and cancelled because it started to rain. Really? We went and demanded our certificate because there was no more time. The certificate was given and my son was shorted driving time. Beware of this company. They do not stick to their commitments. read more

I wish I could give ZERO STARS. I signed my son up for driver's ed. When I went into the office to make a payment with the owner he was already arguing with a woman on the phone about her child. I dismissed that since I had no idea what the woman could have done to provoke him to be speaking about her and her child in that manner. After my son completed his online driver's education the owner ridiculed my son for not completing if fast enough as my son was having medical issues and was dealing with a lot of medical appointments. Once my son obtained his driver's permit I called for an appointment to get his permit signed off and now the owner is being rude and aggressive with me. His next appointment was 2 months out. My son finally got his permit signed off and had a poor attitude then. I called to schedule the next appointment which was again months later due to their "busy schedule". The instructor went to my house when it was scheduled to be at the office. After that appointment my son was upset and withdrawn so I asked him about the appointment and he told me that the instructor spent most of the time typing on a computer while he was driving and was lying on him. I called the owner so that I can find out how my son had done on his first drive with them. The owner started out calm then started to yell when I told him that my son does not yell, that he gets quiet when his is upset. The owner then stated that my son has a MENTAL CONDITION in which he believes that he is always right and that everyone else is wrong. Then he acknowledged that he has lots of kids with that disorder. I scheduled another appointment for my son this time for my son to be picked up and no one ever showed up. I called to schedule another appointment and the owner (TOM) started yelling again and was incredibly rude. My husband overheard the conversation and asked for the phone and politely asked TOM not to talk to his wife in that manner. He started yelling at my husband so my husband hung up. TOM called back and apologized to my husband and offered an appointment for 1 week later. I said I would call to accept that appointment later when I calmed down. I came in to schedule the appointment. TOM became ridiculously rude and began cussing me. He later made racist comments. I have done my research with the traffic schools in the High Desert and this place is BY FAR THE WORST. Who was having a bad day when they gave this guy a license to open a business? read more

I came here for my driving school and for my first session my instructor Tom was very rude to the other girl in the car who was driving at the time and had her stop the car to tell her he didn't have to be teaching her if she was going to give him attitude (which she wasnt she was just asking questions). By law I am supposed to get 6 hours behind the wheel but since they have other kids in the car I only got 3, and they didn't teach me half of what I needed to know for my test. Tom told both my son and daughter that he had a fat girls mother say she didn't want him as her daughters instructor, and his response to both my children was that he wouldn't touch that fat girl nor does he think anyone else would! Just one example of many reasons why you should NOT do business with Tomco! Both locations are owned and operated by the same ignorant people!!!!! They also like to schedule appointments and then leave before the scheduled time just so they can come up on the $25 rescheduling fee!!!! I would not recommend this school for any one or any kid to learn driving. He took nearly $300 from us for 3 driving classes. The last 2 classes were full of problems, including postponements and finally cancellation with no refund. In the 2nd class, my kid was used to drive and deliver another kid to his house for 15 minutes. My kid did not learned anything from this driving school. Tomco might have lower costs than other local driving schools but they are one of the worst driving schools we ever had to deal with. The staff is very unprofessional and they treat some of the kids and parents very badly. They do their driving skills with multiple kids in the vehicle, so your child never gets the one on one attention they should have. They disrespect some of the children putting them down or degrading their driving skills. They are rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! Don't even give them the lint out of your pocket. Huge waste of money. At sign up we explained to Tom our family dynamic situation and that things are to be done a certain way since we're a blended family. My stepsons father who was suppose to have no say in his drivers education cancelled an appointment. Tom knew he and his wife Bobby were only to speak to me, my wife and stepson during this process. Tom agreed saying "no problem". After the cancellation we talked to Tom and he agreed to waive the cancellation fee. However, my stepson had set up an appointment with Tom for today at 4:30 pm and Bobby denied that appointment claiming she made the appointment and it was for 6:30 pm. Bobby being argumentative and rude with my wife demanded a $25 fee for rescheduling the appointment. After all that and getting off the phone Bobby calls back to say that Tom demanded all my stepsons classes be cancelled until we (me, my wife and stepson) come in to talk to him and pay the fees for the first cancellation as well as the second. I told Bobby that wasn't going to happen and since they're tacking on unnecessary fees for things they were aware of and originally agreed to work with us on and lied about appointment times that we were cancelling my stepsons drivers education program. I requested then demanded a full or partial refund and of course we're not going to get it. TOMCO, stipulates in their contract NO REFUNDS because they have intentions of doing you and your child wrong and taking your hard earned money. This is the second time I've been ripped off by a local small business and frankly seriously not happy. Maybe it would be a good idea for someone to start a class action law suit against TOMCO and run them out of not only the high desert but out of business. read more
