I did not end up using RMP because we decided to do an intensive board and train boot camp at last…read moreminute, but after several hours of research and calls with kennels throughout Summit County and Denver, and multiple calls with RMP, we would absolutely use RMP for boarding, especially challenging dogs. They seem to possess the expertise and experience, and most importantly, love, to manage difficult dogs who dont play well with others, dog and human. I know its odd to write a review without actually using RPM's facility, but i was so impressed with the time they took to educate me on their approach to dealing with difficult dogs and how devoted they are to caring for your dog like it was there own.

Not a day goes by that I don't regret bringing my dog here for boarding. I checked my dog Nirvana…read morein for boarding on February 6, 2023 in good health with no prior injuries. In the morning of February 7, 2023 I received text messages and photos of Nirvana from the manager Stacy that mentioned nothing of this injury. She said that Nirvana was doing just great via text. (see photos below) However, my dog looked very uncomfortable and now knowing that she had a torn ligament, it seems like she was not being properly cared for as the photos so her sitting in an office chair, meaning that they were having her crawl in and out of the chair while she was injured, and also putting her in a situation where she could've further injured herself. On February 8, 2023 I received a phone call from the manager Stacey, stating that Nirvana had suffered a minor sprain while boarding, and had developed a limp. Allegedly Nirvana was examined by a veterinarian Dr.Sarah Love who is their "resident" Vet (owner's wife). They advised me that the "minor injury" would heal naturally within a few weeks, and that no further care or diagnostics was deemed to be needed by Dr. Love. Nirvana's medical records prove she never had a limp/injury before this incident. Because of the dishonesty and lack of transparency about the injury in boarding, my dog did not get the proper medical care she needed in an appropriate amount of time. A few months passed and she continued to not heal, and seemed to be in pain. In autumn of 2023 I took her in for an examination from a vet in our local community of Santa Monica, CA. The staff was immediately very concerned and asking for medical records from the initial examination. I explained that no medical records were ever provided and despite making multiple phone calls to contact Rocky Mountain Pet Resort or Dr. Sarah love for medical records of the alleged exam that took place, they have refused to cooperate or provide any records. After receiving radiology in October 2023, and proper care here in California, my dog was diagnosed with a permanent ligament injury. She has been prescribed medication that she permanently hast to take that she never had to take before prior to this injury. The veterinarian made it very clear that if the injury had been properly disclosed at the time, and had been properly examined by a medical professional, that there was more that could have been done when the initial injury took place. Unfortunately, because Rocky Mountain pet resort intentionally deceived me regarding the severity of her injury neglected to provide Nirvana proper care in a timely manner in response to the injury. The injury has now become a chronic permanent injury that does not have any options as far as further surgeries or treatment. Rocky Mountain Pet Resort has been so difficult regarding the situation that they have even asked me to no longer contact them, yet they were never able to professionally respond to the situation either. They have refused any refunds for her care, and I have accumulated many medical bills for my dog since bringing her to this facility. The worst part is that my dog lives in chronic pain on a daily basis, and she is in so much pain that she does not even want to go down the stairs to use the restroom. She used to be able to enjoy her quality of life after being rescued by me and we used to be able to go on long walks around the Los Angeles Marina now she is barely able to complete a quarter mile walk around our neighborhood. She constantly is licking the injury and also this creates other concerns like she could cause an infection because she licks her self to the point where there is a open wound out of pain. Now she also has to wear an E collar often, and that is not very comfortable for her. Her life was never like this until she boarded at Rocky Mountain Pet Resort. I took ample time to disclose Nirvana's special needs due to her situation as a rescue dog. Stacey assured me that Rocky Mountain Pet Resort had the capacity to work with her as a rescue dog and handle her special accommodations that we had discussed. This injury could've been easily prevented had the boarding facility followed the appropriate care for my dog. Prior to boarding Nirvana I took the time to disclose her special needs, and it was discussed that she was from Los Angeles an unfamiliar with snow. It was also disclosed that she cannot really be around other dogs. During this conversation Stacey was provided very detailed directions to not walk her without a leash on and keep her away from other dogs. And if needed to minimize walks, and to not take her on the snow. They ignored all special care instructions & fed her food that could have triggered intestinal bleeding!

Cat people know the anxiety is real…read more If you've ever left town and immediately wondered, "Are the cats plotting revenge or are they okay?" then you get it. We used Denver Pro Pet Sitting while we were on vacation and it was an absolute lifesaver. They checked in on our cats, made sure everything was taken care of, and sent updates that made it clear our little furballs were living their best lives while we were gone. Reliable, communicative, and clearly people who genuinely care about animals. It's such a relief knowing your pets are in good hands instead of just hoping the automatic feeder doesn't become their new enemy. 10/10 would trust them with our cats again. Pretty sure the cats didn't even miss us.

You can text, email, or respond in the portal. The sitters give you great detail on your pets bathroom and eating habits and medications. They also provide lots and lots of pictures! I was unfortunate enough to have an emergency while on vacation with no way to get home quickly or call anyone. Nelson and my sitter were absolutely amazing in handling the situation with urgency, care, and communicated with me the best they could given my limited availability. I hope I never have another emergency when I'm gone, but if I do, it's Denver Pro Pet Sitting I want taking care of my pets. Finally, they do their best to assign the same sitter every time. I really love seeing my sitter comment on my dog's health improvements since previous visits and makes me feel like they genuinely care about my pets and their well being.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU…read more My Name is Brett and I am a certified Dog Trainer with Animal Behavioral College. My business is called "Colorado Native: Dog Training." You can contact me at ColoradoBuddah@gmail.com From my personal experience, Double J Cross Boarding/ Husky Breeding is not a place that you should take your pet. They abuse animals. One of my dogs needed boarding for 2 weeks. My method of training that I teach and apply to my clients and dogs is strictly positive reinforcement. This means no negative reinforcement whatsoever (no hitting, nor fear related scare tactics). I understand that my dog barks uncontrollably in all sorts of tones.. he's one of those that thinks he's human.. however, he has never flinched from any human reach or touch. In fact his demeanor is quite the opposite. I have evidence of my training in action and implementation. I also have the personality of my pets acutely recorded and data entries for progress in training techniques for their entire lives. Now he flinches severely. When picking up my dogs I went straight to their kennels, which I found out after the fact that the front of the store is where everything goes down. And no signs of abuse, yet. However, when I dropped off the dogs I was never shown the front of the store. The employee on duty must have been new, else not very fond of their employer's protocol. She claimed ex-law enforcement status, but after these incidents she's probably embellishing being a prison guard. Had I known about this before hand with their lack of work ethic, I would not have left my dogs there. However, all this was discovered after the fact. In chronological order the following also took place with a witness who recorded the end: i was informed that it was cash or check and that there was a note on the wall. If I had been shown the front and there be a note actually in a visible place, perhaps the cuss words that ensued could have been avoided.. but alas, it didn't go that way. After being informed cash or check I called a family member who began their travels to me. There was a slight disgruntlement when the previously mentioned employee called me a liar that she had told me that it was only cash or check. I gave an empty threat that I would write a bad review (all recorded) and then literally 3 minutes later 2 policemen from Salida, CO showed up who were to busy to do their jobs and said this was a civil matter and then left after discovering that the Double J Cross was just trying to save there butts online because I threatened to write a bad review for causing us to be late to pick up my fiancé's grandma at her house when she gets dropped off from the senior center. Fortunately a friend was willing to help with the grandmother as we waited for the check to arrive. The police informed me that the boarding place was claiming that I threatened their safety and not willing to pay what was owed. This is simply just not the case, money isn't as issue for me and I'm a practicing Buddhist for most of my life. However, it's not reassuring of the town if they don't have enough policemen to respond and do what our taxes pay them to do, but that's just me. When I finally get my dogs by waiting at the end of the drive way. The police said if they had to be called back they would arrest someone. I really wanted to make this a thing bc I was getting heated at being treated poorly, but i needed to reflect first on whether I was at fault before doing anything as acting/ reacting in anger is usually self-destructive. Once I got my dogs in the truck I let by-gones be by-gones and started my trek to the fiancé's house. I've tested many times to make sure, in-transit and upon arrival (for better testing), before I got to my destination and after, my dog flinched if I raised my hand to pet him and he still finches. My fiancé also heard a dog yelp after the whole incident with the ex-policewoman. This place needs to be shut down. Email me for further questions, comments, or concerns. I'm also contacting animal abuse authorities. There is a lady who claims ex-cop status, even tho I'm sure she was just a prison guard.. she seems to have some sway down there, but she is the one who started cussing and probably the one who hit my dogs. There was also an elderly man who had loads of guilt on his face when he gave me the dog toys from his pen.. I wouldn't be surprised to discover that they both have abusive pasts and both hit my dog. This place is just god awful.
