Update: I did get in touch with the owner, but he wouldn't send a refund in the mail and insisted I had to drive over to the laundromat when he was there, at his convenience. I don't see this as good customer service. Send the refund in the mail already. (The owner offered $5 in compensation for losing $1.50, but he was asking me to drop everything and run to the laundromat at his convenience, when perhaps it could be a busy and awkward time of day for me to do this and could cost me more than $5. Moreover, it would take a minimum of 30 minutes to get there and come back, which, even at minimum wage, is $7 of my time. This does not include the minimum $ 1.50 (at the time I started counting) I lost in the machines, or the cost of gas and wear and tear on the car.) At this rate, how many more quarters am I going to lose in the change machine?
