We have tried every pizza place in the area, and Tommy Boys is the go-to. Nothing beats a huge slice for $3-4. The pizza is thin crust and crispy. Not greasy, and not too many toppings (makes crusy soggy). Especially offers good prices for large orders, the club I am in always orders 6-9 pizzas for meetings and gets a great deal. Why not 5 stars? Not open on Monday's, eat-in area is small, and other options on the menu other then the pizza are average at best. Kutztown is a small wonderful main st with a limited number of eateries. This is a college town and Tommy Boys speaks directly to that crowd. The staff is always super friendly and polite. The house pies come in many forms with a variety of ready made topping . The slices are oversized from the house pie selections . Each slice Is like 2 regular slices every place else . The pies you order are the standard size unless you specify. Pennsylvania standards of pizza decline once you leave NYC . This is a 4 star rating for a great slice in a Pennsylvania college town . Small dining room two large tables and several outdoor tables. You have 4 or 5 pizza choices in Kutztown, this is the best one. Get Tommy Boys in your belly! read more

I absolutely love their pizza and the garlic knots. I don't know what it is about their pizza, maybe the sauce, but it's my favorite pizza place out of the abundance amount of pizza shops in town. The delivery drivers are always friendly. They have great deals on specials. We usually get the large pizza with the garlic knot and soda special. Interior is nothing spectacular- 4 tables and 3 big screen tv's- and some decent tunes. However, oh my, that showcase of specialty pizza screams "If you lived here, I'd be your favorite take-out evah!" Slices on these mammoth pizzas are $4-$5, but oh my, it's for real. We opted for one of the deals- $28 bought or family of 5 and grandma 2 pizzas, 12 garlic knots, 2 orders of fries, and a 2 liter of lemonade. Quantities of food overpowers us, but leftover pizza is ok in my book. Fries were crispy, knots were garlicky, and the buffalo pizza was pretty good, as was the other, a plain. Service was good. Only gripe was that the cups were small-and needed frequent refills - and grandma noted that plastic gloves were not worn by employees handling both money and food. Blah. Gripes aside, solid pizza joint with selection, quality, and quantity. Thumbs up! read more

At one time Tommy boys was our go to for great pizza. However whoever they have answering the phone don't put the customer on speaker phone. When it came to repeating our number back they got it wrong three times! Too much background noise. Next they had the address wrong which had to be repeated again and again. Finally when it came to give our credit card for payment, they disconnected the call! I called back and canceled the order. Sorry when you work with the public all day it's frustrating to not have the same courtesy returned. read more

I really like the pizza at Tommy Boys. For years we have been ordering thier delivery or take out. The last time out of the blue we called to have a pizza delivered. I was alway polite and tipped the driver well. They said no. I explain we only live 4 miles from the establishment and we have been getting deliveries for several year. I aso explain the shorter way 2 go. After a long pause they said we only do deliveries no more then 5 mile and our GPS says you live 4.5 miles away. We have NEVER delivered to this address. I was a little confussed and replied 4.5 is a mile and half. You don't round it up. ( i was try not to be conventional)They began to be very rude. I was o.k I'll pick it up I guess. They said pick it up in 15 and hung up on me. We got there in 20 minutes. The pizza wasn't ready and they were not busy. All them employees we sitting outside. read more

I've had lunch here twice and it was tasty both times, but I haven't ventured past the pizza. The slices are insanely huge - it's almost comical! You certainly get your money's worth. A friend got the chicken salad which was nicely presented...much classier than I would have imagined for a college pizza joint. The atmosphere is loud and a bit chaotic. There are a lot of pickups so if you choose to dine in, prepare for a noisy and fast-paced vibe. My first time, we waited a long while for our food to come out which is why I dropped it down to 4 stars. There are several booths inside and a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk. I can't give Tommy Boys any stars my opinion. Their accuracy of the orders when delivered has gone down hill in the course of the year. When you order over the phone they can't hear you correctly you have to repeat the order several times for them to remotely hear you. Wait time is horrendous. Time table for completion of order is stated for a certain time but completion and delivery is way past expectancy. One time my family ordered and didn't receive the order what so ever. So we contacted Tommy Boys and asked where our order was and they never made it. They misplaced the order. Mind you we waited 2 hours later to give them a time cushion because they take so long to make and deliver the food in the first place. So what was the compensation for this huge error. A free pizza.!!!! No refund on our order!!!! Our order was more than three pizzas are combined!!! No free order that was comparative to what we ordered in the first place or even half off. Not to mention the prices have sky rocketed and the menus has now been severely cut in half. They got rid of the wraps which they mildly mess up and i really liked. What triggered my frustrated fueled review is I tried airing my concern with this establishment and was talked over by manager. Enough is enough no more Tommy Boys for me. Hope everyone else has had a better experience that I have had. I am a patient person but enough is enough. read more

I'd give 3 1/2 stars if I could, to represent slightly above average food, but nothing was too outstanding. I appreciated that the cheesesteak was moist, with almost like a sloppy joe consistency, and the roll was thin so that I got a bite of meat with each bite rather than dry bread. But, the overwhelming flavor was grease. Not that I don't like some grease, but it could've used a little spice and maybe more tomato in the sauce. Yes, the pizza slice was huge. About the size of two slices. However, at 2.75 per slice that isn't too shocking. I loved how thin the crust was with a nice thick layer of cheese. It was a little on the dry side -- just an extra spoonful of sauce would've done the trick. I also tasted the buffalo chicken cheesesteak. Definitely had the tasty hot sauce flavor but the pieces of shredded chicken were actually too much as to throw the flavor out of balance. I prefer more finely chopped chicken in a chicken cheesesteak. Maybe others would prefer the taste of chicken over everything else. Overall, first time there and probably wouldn't rush to go back but I wouldn't advise against it either. read more

The pizza at Tommy Boys is very good. They have a large selection of different varieties to choose from. In the last three months I've been coming here I haven't received a bad pizza. I can't say the same for the steak sandwiches. The first time I got one it was very salty. I thought maybe it was just a fluke. But I purchased another the other day and it was just like the prior. I ordered over the phone for take-out (special #4). Lady over the phone was having trouble hearing me, but that was forgivable, it was a Friday night, they were probably busy. They told me to pick up the order in 35 minutes. We were about 20 minutes late. Food was cold (would be cool if you could keep it warm?), but no problem, that was our bad. I REALLY want to give five-stars, as this was easily one of the best pizzas I ever had and the garlic knots were delicious (would have liked them to be more garlicky, but the sauce was incredible). What keeps me from giving this five-stars is the lady at the register. I get it, she's probably a college kid, may even be a high school kid, but we took issue with how we were served. First, we came in. We waited. About 5 minutes later, 2 girls walk in. The lady at the register acknowledged us by saying, "I'm going to serve them first, then I'll get to you!" We found that a bit unprofessional, but we let it slide. Then, a guy came in. Apparently, the previous night he was a drunken mess and left his debit card there. Lady at the register went to get it out of the register and hand it to him. Then, they had to recount the story. Meanwhile, my friend and I are waiting there, very, VERY patiently just to pick up an order already getting cold. The pace of the restaurant seemed a bit too leisurely upfront, which is a shame because the kitchen workers were CLEARLY working very hard. Decent pizza at best. They are horrible neighbors. Their big slice deal results in everyone getting a pizza box which ends up all over main Street and the surrounding streets. We've call it pizza trash since there is so much of it that it deserves differentiation from other street trash. They also blast awful music all day. But to have the staff precede to tell my friend and I it was our fault for ordering a big pie and arguing that there was a line Infront of us and that's why it was taking so long, even though we called and ordered it and was given a time frame.
