Best fresh produce place around. Sure, it doesn't look like much on the outside or really much on the inside but their prices reflect that they don't want to abuse your pocketbook. Tommy's is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of N Belcher Rd. and NE Coachman Rd. in Clearwater. It's been in the same location for years. The interior is very cramped. The store has a variety of fresh produce, exotic ingredients and international food items. The vegetables looked awesome as well as the freshly baked goods. There's nothing fancy or overpriced about Tommy's. The staff is friendly. The store is very tight quarters so be prepared. This store is also a classic hidden gem in Clearwater. read more

I made a special out-of-the-way journey to visit this store. I read reviews and looked at their website. Here's what I wish I knew: The variety of produce was decent, but did not live up to the hype. I found some interesting varieties of fruit and vegetables here that are harder to find in Central FL. (Example, daikon radish, jujube fruits, cactus pears, etc) The dealbreaker though was that I did not find any organic produce at all. I've seriously cleaned up my diet out of necessity this year (yes, it stinks) and seek out only organic produce now. The produce that was in stock was at questionable levels of freshness. A distinctive odor of rotting produce hit me the moment I walked in. There were many flies buzzing around the produce bins. I actually had to swat some off to look at the onions. Prices were higher than I anticipated, $10 for a pumpkin (I'll go to Aldi). $4 for a conventional cantaloupe? They're $2.99 for organic at Publix right now. There were some delicious looking middle eastern breads available, which were of no use to me, unfortunately. And plenty to choose from in the spices, oils, honey and dried pepper sections. This will be my first and last visit I'm sorry to say. read more

This place is a hustling, bustling beehive. It reminds me of John's Produce on steroids, actually. There are plenty of staff wandering around its tight aisles and passageways stocking shelves full of European dry goods (pastas, Asian noodles, Asian, Arabic and Hispanic rices, bulk style house-bagged dry beans galore), grocery items and specialty items as well as most of the produce you'd expect to find at a produce market. Then on top of all the European stuff, there's a ton of Asian specialties on the produce aisles (want a jackfruit or lychee nuts?), the freezer and refrigerated cases (dumplings, wonton skins, etc). Then there are many middle eastern things to pick from, too! All kinda of coffees, spreads (papaya jam, anyone?), bread stuffs, frozen and fresh meats, cheeses, candies, cookies and beyond. I also saw at least 15 different brands, sizes and kinds of olive oil alone. Add a few other kinds, like grape seed, sunflower and peanut oils...you could re-float the Edmund Fitzgerald! Then of course all the juices, fruits and veggies. Most everything one could imagine, including reasonable prices on melons, different berries, sweet corn and other such local faves. All this selection brought me back around to the same thought over and over. If you really need mid eastern or Asian peppers, oddball veggies or fruits, then this is the place for you! The dairy and fresh cold selections are huge too! Same with all the pickled, jarred condiments & veggies from everywhere (only time I ever saw a gallon jar of kimchee anywhere in FL). However, I'll never really need a 75# bag of Persian rice or 10 bags of Hungarian bird nest noodles and a pound of pickled daikon or ginger. It's greet to find that sort of stuff; way more than John's will ever hope to hold. Meantime, all I ever really needed is at John's too. I truly like Tommy's. I just don't love it enough to go out of my way to visit, fight the elbow-to-elbow crowds, and navigate incredibly narrow aisles. Tommy's seems to be a bit big for its own britches, being too many sorts of things for too many sorts of people. I'm perfectly A-OK with the small, rundown low-rent feeling of John's. Their produce is just as good, a bit more reasonably priced, and is family owned and operated. Good selection of grocery, fresh and frozen stuff too. See? I keep going back in my mind to them, so that's where I'll keep my business too read more

I enjoy coming here! We found this little gem about a year ago and it's been a weekly visit ( if not 2). With food prices the way they are, I appreciate being able to afford fresh produce from Tommy's! We also like the abundance of international foods. Specialty food stores are few and far between for middle eastern groceries. read more

Just moved to Clearwater not too long ago and Just went in to check to see what they got. Amazing place!!! Asian to Greek, Italian etc Very international! I found my favorite packet of German soup too. Saw stack of fresh Feta cheese also had tofu, kimchee, daikon, Japanese eggplants etc. lucky to find this place near by! read more

This place is great. So glad I was able to pop in and out to get some fresh veggies on my way home from work. They have a plethora of vegetables, fruits, canned goods, half an aisle of honey... I'll be honest I was surprised by the variety! I just needed a few ingredients to make a homemade soup and I was able to walk out with also $1 pack of blueberries along with items to make for my next recipe. They keep their store clean and organized. Very easy to find what you're looking for. Great first experience for me! read more

Tommy's Produce is number three on my list for fresh fruit and vegetables, but it is a must-have for topical ethnic accompaniments. I've never been in a store that has a greater variety of honey or balsamic vinegar. I seriously just walked out of here with a 56oz container of pure sesame oil, a jar of fluffy bee pollen, 20 year aged balsamic vinegar, a jar of olives without a stitch of English on the label and some delicious looking cured meat I cannot even pronounce. Score! This place is like the butter on my bread and the gravy on my potatoes all wrapped up in a warm blanket on a three dog night before stuffing it into sausage casing. On N Belcher Rd between NE Coachman Rd and Drew St you'll find what looks like an ordinary market with fruit and $2 herb plants out front. Step inside and you'll find the entire globe flattened out across a few aisles and produce pit. Tommy's Produce is so much more than just produce! It is an culinary department store where local fresh market meets international wonderland. Local baked goods brought in fresh daily are at the front of the store next to the checkout lanes. On one side of the store is a diverse selection of affordable, quality produce. The prices beat Winn Dixie and Publix, by far. The fruit selection is mammoth. Pick up a pack of homegrown Plant City strawberries for $1.50/qt. A wall of hot fresh peppers stands at the back of the store. If you're gutsy try the ghost pepper (bhut jolokia), one of the hottest peppers in the world, for $9.99/lb. Condiments from all over stock the shelves. The BBQ sauce selection alone represents every corner of the earth. Brand varieties of Asian staples like Thai sweet chili sauce, fish sauce and wasabi abound. You'll also find Mediterranean goods like Arab za'atar and Greek olives. Looking to find Latin love beyond Goya? Look no further. Tommy's offers yellow rice, rice and beans, salsa, and a host of spices. Oh, and they've got Abuelita, a rich and spicy hot chocolate mix. Above all, they have Eurocrem, a hazlenut and vanilla milk chocolate spread that makes Nutella look like peasant grease. I thought I'd never see Eurocrem in the U.S. again after I left New York. I even made a few phone calls around the entire Tampa Bay metro area to see if anyone had it. Like with all great things, I found it when I stopped looking. There's so much more and so little space to write. Aisles decked out in dried mushrooms, healthfood, pastas, rices and orzo. There's German food, Greek food and grapes. First time here and I was somewhat impressed. All the produce was in pretty good shape (you don't get that with some of these places). There were several rows of dry and canned goods that you don't find everywhere - I was pleasantly surprised. Also a nice selection of refrigerated and frozen items. Absolutely the best produce market in Clearwater-Largo-Dunedin. All of the basics plus more obscure fruit, veg, and herbs can be found here. My only complaints are: 1) the lack of tofu choices. Firm is fine for some recipes, but sometimes one needs silky or super firm. 2) the expense of canned items. I usually grudgingly stop at the supermarket for these staples. read more

I used to shop here when they were a tiny little produce stand and bam! Now they are a legit produce store. They are always a hit or miss for me but I do love coming here to browse. Most of the time you'll just see what's fresh or not and do your shopping that way. Produce shopping, duh! Tommy's produce has been a staple in the area for many years, and for good reason. He offers a great selection of amazingly fresh produce at super low prices. He also has tons of great European specialty products, like spreads, candies, bread and other goodies. He also offers some Asian grocery products as well. It's like an international grocery market and a produce stand all in one. Yet the prices are much lower than Publix or other grocery stores. I have yet to be disappointed here and will continue coming for all the fresh produce my family needs. You should check it out too. read more

Tommy's is a Clearwater staple that I've gone to for the last decade or so. They are great for finding a wide variety of produce as well as nuts, honey, and a wide variety of hard-to-find Asian and Hispanic foods. Its a great go-to when I'm searching for a specific spice, food, or other ingredient for a recipe. The only reason I'm deducting a star is the high prices. I understand pricing out-of-season or hard-to-find items higher. However, the prices for staples like broccoli and onions is high. I will stick to Aldi for produce and Tommy's for specialty items. read more

Good selection and prices. We got two bags of goodies for under $10. The fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is absolutely delicious. I can't recommend it enough. There's some groceries options in the back, but I haven't checked those out. We went shortly after opening on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all.
