Brought my godson in here for a haircut, made the appointment through yelp, super easy, responded very quickly. Love the vibe of the shop, very cool and badass. I re-visited Tom's for a second time and I'm in love. Tom's passion, artistry and meticulous eye for detail makes him IMO the best barber in the GTA. When I go for haircuts, I look out for the skill of the barber and the fine details he puts. I asked Tom for a mid fade, but he advised a low fade. Taking his advice, my haircut has never been better. The fade transitions beautifully from a 4 to skin with no lines. In addition to being a skillful barber, Tom is exceptionally friendly. He will treat you like you have been his long time friend. That being said, I highly recommend trying a haircut from here. The haircut will be great, and the experience is long lasting. read more

Tom is a real pleasure to talk to. Quite a relaxed place. I liked my haircut but I don't think I will be going back. Nothing to do with Tom but my hair doesn't really warrant the $22 that he charges. It's back to the wife salon for me. Costs me $0 and I'm still only looking to impress my lady who thinks I look ravishing. I don't want anyone to know this place exists! In fact, it is kind of like a secret agency headquarters. It's in a not-so-pretty part of town, connected to a sort of strip-mall. It just all looks dodgy from the outside. But when you walk in, secret barber agents will do things with your head you never thought possible! I had been living with some boring hairstyles for a few years. Being an actor, you can't go to risky for fear of narrowing the types of roles you'd go for. Tom did wonders! My head doesn't look so round anymore and the style is so easy to manage. The staff, the rates and the place are all five stars! But don't go there! I don't want this place to get packed. I repeatedly warned the barber he was cutting too much he went ahead and disrespected my requests. His method was to use the electric shear without restraint. This is absolutely awesome. Tom is the guy who owns the place. Hence the name. This guy is amazing. He takes his time cutting your hair and he knows what he's doing. You can definitely tell he has a lot a passion for his job. If you want to get in quick you should come before 3 because the place is packed from 3 till close. I live about half an hour away from his shop but I will definitely make the trip over every time I need a trim, it is totally worth the time to come down and try him out. Disappointed to say the least. I made an appointment online through Yelp with Thomas, I was initially impressed with the quick response. We agreed on a time the next day, all seemed good. I drove the 20 minutes to get there, but was about 1/2 hr. early so I waited outside until closer to my appointment time. When I finally went in I was informed that Tom isn't here today, he's at a different shop another 20 minutes drive in midtown. I texted Tom and he said he thought that I wanted a haircut at Ernie's and he would wait for me. Why the f*ck he would think I was requesting an appointment at a shop halfway across the city from a different location that I was texting to I can't figure out. Besides being double the distance that I had already driven, some of the reviews from Ernie's were big red flag to stay away. Maybe the people that gave Tom these 5 star reviews are real and got great haircuts but when the guy doesn't have a clue about where he's making an appointment for, given that it's apparently HIS shop, and wasted my time by being at some rat hole miles away it certainly make you wonder how real these glowing ratings are. Everybody gets 1 chance, but when you make dumbass mistakes like this, or just figured he would have more work at another shop that day, that chance was just pissed away...along with my time! And the search goes on for a decent barber...with a clue! I guess another thing to watch for is that the great reviews aren't 6-7 years old. read more

Tomas is the real deal. What an amazing find, right in my own neighborhood. A skilled barber who cuts with great precision. Friendly, and very well priced. Offering all the typical barber services including shave, beard shaping and hair washing. The use of a straight razor at the end of the cut is definitely a nice touch too. I woke up one morning and decided I needed to get this mop off my head. Rather than going to my usual barber, I took a chance on visiting Tom's based on the great Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. When I walked in, I was greeted by Tom who was very welcoming (unlike some barbershops who don't really seem to care you want to give them your business). After being put on the list, Shaquille seated me and asked me how I would like my cut. I gave him a basic idea of what I wanted but asked him to feel free to try something what he thought would work. The cut took a little longer than expected but Shaquille really went into detail with his work and made sure my cut was perfect. It was refreshing seeing someone put so much effort and care into their craft. I found out later from him that he has only been cutting for about 4 months under the apprenticeship of Tom. This guy is impressive! Bottom line - If you want barbers who are great with the scissor and trimmer, go to Tom's! They are also super nice guys and their clientele seems great too. read more
