This place used to be a decent facility but has gone way downhill. Many machines out of order and the place is disgustingly dirty with black moldy floors. It is hard to imagine it staying in business much longer from the looks of it. They won't be getting any more of our quarters. read more

We are visiting from Ohio. First thing you see are towels lining the front of the washing machines on the floor. Was like this 2 years ago, still not fixed. Then looking around half the front loading washers are carrying OUT OF ORDER. Signs. And a good share of the dryers are the same. How can you ignore these things? It's a great location and a big building. When in the UP we find so many wonderfully taken care of laundry mats . We hope the owner sees this post and finds time to do more repairs daily and we see improvement on our next visit. Doing laundry on the road isn't cheap and we gladly pay . When you first walk in the door, you're met with the overwhelming stench of mold and mildew. The washer we tried to use had black mold in the soap dispenser. The floor was lined with towels to soak up leaking machines. This place is a health hazard should be shut down. read more

They used to be a great place to go, but not any more. The attendant was so rude and all I asked was a simple question. Half of the washers are broken and always are. The price per load to wash is ridiculous. I used to only use them, but they don't care about customers or customer satisfaction. It's a shame, because Alpena only has a few laundromat as it is. read more

There's more out of order machines than ones working. We put laundry in one machine, it filled with water, then stopped working. We lost our money there and it costs $2.75 a load! The website says there's a weekend attendant, but no one was available. They need to get this place up to proper working order! It's terrible! read more

I've gone in here many times, owner Jane is rude, and it seemed she didn't really know what she was doing, it looked like she cared more about gossiping to her employees. other than the owner, most of the machines are broken, and the ones that do work don't work well. read more

Probably the best laundromat in Alpena, by far. For the amount of traffic they get, there seems to be an attendant here most of the day, either fulfilling laundry services, or cleaning up messes left by awful customers, which is encouraging. There's also a couple of 50-lb capacity washers, and at least one 50-lb dryer, but also several smaller capacity machines of each. read more

Took me a minute to find with iPhone maps. It's in the same plaza as the Save A Lot (can't miss the huge sign). Once there, was greeted by an attendant almost immediately. This was not the only present surprise, as it is one of the cleanest mats I've seen in awhile. The 50 lb washers made quick work of the laundry we accrued while traveling. Overall, I don't think you can ask for any more from a laundry mat. read more

I've probably patronized 15-20 laundromats over the years, mostly downstate. We moved to the area almost 6 years ago and Ton-O-Suds is by far the best I've ever experienced. I very rarely rate anything the top rating, but this business is always VERY clean, the staff are as helpful as they can be, and they have decent extended hours. I appreciate the number of extra large washers, and on a few visits the attendants have recognized that we like to use them and will remove finished loads when the less considerate patrons have left the premises when it's busy. My #1 favorite thing is that they keep the machines so clean. I use all unscented detergents and oxyclean, and I HATE when my clothes come out smelling like someone else's detergent. The only minor negative is that I think they are a bit more pricy than others. But it's VERY worth it until I can afford to buy the new washer I want. read more
