Seems like a beautiful location and a great place to visit. Will probably try to go see it despite the negative experience on the phone. Unfortunately I DID have a pretty nasty experience with their customer service. I'm from out of state and called to ask about booking a wedding reception. I had heard really good things about the location and spoke with a friend who said that Tonaquint had recently stopped hosting receptions there due to previous guests not adequately cleaning up, but if we called and asked for Julie, and explained that we would be clean, they might make an exception. This is where it got uncomfortable. I called and explained my situation being from out of state, trying to plan a reception, and that we had been referred by a previous reception party (who presumably had a good experience/was clean), and asked if we might be able to work something out. She curtly responded, "Well that's a policy we made, so no." I was a little surprised at how abrupt she was but asked, "Okay, well... Like I said, I'm from out of state so do you know of any locations that look similar to Tonaquint? I know my fiancé really liked that location when she'd been there before, so I'd like to try and find something similar?" "Umm... No. I don't. Why don't you try calling a wedding planner if you have questions like that because we don't do that kind or thing?" *Uncomfortable pause* "Uh, okay. Well, do you have any in the area you could recommend? Ones that you worked with from when you did receptions [which was only 4-6 months ago at the time of writing this review, Julie being the person we were specifically referred the reception party point of contact] and would recommend?" "No. I don't know any. I don't do that. Why don't you just Google one?" --I want to add here that at every point she spoke, she was extremely curt, and even felt sarcastic; the tone was really unprofessional and condescending. "Okay, well I guess I'll try that." "Yup. Congrats on getting engaged almost I guess? Bye." Julie then hung up the phone. I was with the friend at the time of making the call and as soon as the line went dead she turned to me and said, "Oh my gosh!! She was so RUDE!" which frankly helped validate my experience. -- So, in all, honestly don't let this taint your perception of the facilities/gardens as a whole. --Like I said, I heard they are fantastic, willbut probably go walk through at some point, but have never personally been there myself so I cant review that side of things either way. Tonaquint Community Garden plots are available only to Washington Country residence (anybody is welcome to come in and look) and is a fantastic program. Here locals can learn how to grow healthy fruits and veggies from volunteers that will help with growing their crop. Individual plots are 12x18 and they have senior friendly size plot at 5x18. There are two types of plots, one that donates all harvested food to local food banks and the other are personal plots that one can do as they wish with the food harvested so long as they follow the guidelines of the garden. There was a shed inside the fenced garden area that I walked in and checked out. The shed has tools available to volunteers. Water will be provided by the City of St. George via a spigot at each plot and the cost for a plot ranges from $30 - $40 and the fee can be waived if you volunteer so much time each year. Each person is responsible for planting their own crop by March 1st of each year and it's their responsibility to keep their plot area weeded and looking neat. I noticed a lot of empty plots and a lot that were full of life. The hours on the sign said sunrise to sunset and the gate was wide open on my visit giving me the the chance to walk around see the different plots and what was growing.
