I thought cool I have the whole store to myself, not so fast. I was kicked out for not wearing a mask. Now, it's no secret that Guitar Center is practically bankrupt and about 6 seconds away from complete collapse so you'd think they'd be doing anything they can to get customers in the store spending money, not kicking them out for no mask. I completely understand that even though Governor Abbott released the mask mandate they can still require it. I get it. But, why be so militant about it? It's rather stupid to be starved for cash and customers then kick them out because you're scared of their breath. I don't expect Guitar Center to protect me from anything but I do expect them to sell guitars. That's all they have to do. It's their property and they're free to make the rules even if they put themselves out of business. In a free market I just took my cash to their competitor in Dallas who was operating his story just like it was 2018. I got the Strat I wanted and he got my cash. Rest In Peace Guitar Center.

I have witnessed adults who have never picked up an instrument in their life and become skilled in not one, but multiple instruments. I have made life long friends here, gained confidence, self-respect, and an ever-growing love for all different kinds of music...and I am surely not the only person to experience these gains. The instructors are wonderful, talented people who truly care about each student's musical journey and are dedicated to helping them progress. DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE!…read more I purchased a brand new Fender Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar, a (supposedly leather) guitar strap, and a used Blackstar amp. I only played the Fender Squier Mini once after removing the plastic, and it plays, but it doesn't sound like it should. I also attempted to use the "leather" guitar strap with the Fender (which was suggested by the salesperson for this guitar), but it didn't hold the guitar and started fraying after one use. Then, after using the amp only 3 times, it completely stopped working. It turns on occasionally but none of the buttons work and there is clearly something wrong with the internal electrical system, so it's useless. I reached out to the manager of this store about returning these items but I have not heard back. I would definitely NOT recommend this place!!
