The school does a great job of providing opportunities for parents who want to be involved in their children's education, from light tasks like helping supervise special crafts sessions to larger commitments like serving as a board member. My older son really did not like the idea of school at the beginning of the school year, but as his academic and social skills improved, now every day is "the best day" and he loves showing us what he learned. It's been great seeing my kiddos blossom in their independence and also enjoy a sense of belonging at this preschool.

It is clear that the other students have parents that care about their child's education which encourages the students to come to school ready to learn. Sure they are fairly new and from time to time may have a hiccup but so does other schools. I found the teachers are very educated and diverse. The class sizes are good and they offer after school help for students who need to get caught up. My child is not even in high-school yet and is taking courses I took in college. It is very fast pace learning environment so kids will need to be strong in education thus the entrance exam. I understand everyone has a different experience but in the area of education, qualifications, and communication they are top class. Because they are new, they do not have athletic sports yet, but this school is about a STEM education not athletics. If you are looking for athletes or athletic scholarships keep looking but if you want a college prep and quality education for your child then check them out.

We are very grateful to this school for accommodating our daughter after the year had already…read morestarted, we don't expect they can do this for everyone but it's one of the reasons we loved it so much. The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

No matter how much we want them back in school or how great the Academy's curriculum is, Gerstell students are NOT experiments! Young children don't USUALLY get COVID-19 - but some HAVE gotten it and some DIED! NO child should have to get sick or die because Gerstell opens before they can guarantee the nstudents' safety! We trust the teachers of Gerstell Academy more to judge whether and when classrooms are safe! This much is true tho - a lot of parents who don't usually make a lot of noise about stuff have already decided NOT to send their kids back to Gerstell Academy until they KNOW their kids won't contract COVID-19 there and are SAFE!

Dates and times change without appropriate notice. Teachers texting at 6am (on a weekend), or 9pm about school work for the kids. It's absolutely ridiculous. Likely my son will not be returning next year. We pay too much money for this foolishness.

As she is asking questions about my daughter, she yelled at me saying that I needed to tell her more about my daughter so that they can assess what classroom she would go into. Even my husband got a little loud because he didn't appreciate her tone of voice. Strike 2. We get led into the preschool room which is in the basement area of the building. I didn't like the set up of the classroom. There are too many steep steps for a toddler to go up & down on. To go out into the playground, another set of porch steps. Again, that's asking for a lot of falls with rambunctious toddlers. Strike 3. Their curriculum & workbooks were good. And they certainly seem like they are very into learning. They simply did not give a good first impression, which we all know is a lasting one.

So kids couldn't go to the bathroom because not enough teachers were there...When my wife addressed this with the owner, the owner kicked us out of the school. Do Not let your children and your families fall under this dictatorial regime. The directors and the teachers(whom change on a monthly basis) are great. The owner is horrible. Plus the toys in the school are older then all of my kids combined. For the money she should be getting new toys for the kids yearly. Do not pay money to give this owner more incentive to keep this business model going
