Daniel showed us great churches, banks and government buildings, making us want to come back and explore further. When we said that we wanted to go to the Museum Beaux Arts after our tour, Daniel suggested using the Metro. He walked us to the station, helped us purchase our tickets and clearly told us which lines to take and which stops were the most convenient. Daniel is gracious and welcoming. Montreal is luck to have him.

I was also interested in the First Nations history he brought to our attention. In addition, he addressed the art and architecture of the city. We are very senior folks, and he tailored the pace and length of our two-hour tour to our physical abilities, as well as our intellectual curiosities. Daniel even took the time to guide us through the machinery at the Metro station so we could buy our fare tickets to go on to a museum in the new city when our time with him was sadly over. I can't recommend Daniel highly enough and Guidatour for its wonderful service.

Frederick, our guide, took eight of us over a 7 mile tour of some of the classic neighborhoods of Montreal. His love for his hometown truly shines. We took about three hours because he made a point of showing us some classic Montreal native spots such as an immense farmers market filled with luscious locally grow produce. If we were staying long enough to cook, I'd be heading straight back there tomorrow . Frederick is a certified guide and while his knowledge is near encyclopedic, he never drones. He always invites questions and made us laugh a lot. Ask him how poutine got its name. He created a perfect blend of peddling and savoring He spaced out our rest stops in such a way that we were never bored with resting and nor fatigued with pedaling.

I had a great time with Frederic, who told stories while we immersed ourselves in Montreal's history. The handmade bagels were the best--so good that I could have enjoyed them without cream cheese. The three hours flew by and the route was wonderfully flat. Their location is ideal, right next to a cafe where you can grab coffee and a snack before or afterwards.

Museum of Jewish Montreal isn't a traditional museum. Its museum space hosts cultural events but…read morethe main way that people interact with the museum is through the walking tours of Montreal they offer. When I was planning a solo trip to Montreal recently, I knew I had to take in one of their walking tours. I only had time for one (I would have done more than one if I'd had one more day), so I picked "Beyond the Bagel" - 3-4 hour walking tour of Mile End and Plateau. It was fantastic. My tour (on a weekend) was small - just me and another couple. Our tour guide was great - very knowledgeable and friendly. And it was amazing to not have to wait in line to get to try some of those famous Jewish Montreal foods (I was especially grateful for this when we stopped at Schwartz's and I saw that line). I learned so much, got to see so much of a few of Montreal's historic Jewish neighborhoods, and tried some great food. I definitely recommend this tour (and others) if you're interested in the history of Montreal's Jewish community, Montreal's Jewish foods (including Montreal bagels, smoked meats, and more), or just want to see a different part of Montreal! I highly recommend this experience!

We met at Rialto Theater with 8 of us. Our guide had pastries ready which is a great way to start off, and then we walked into Cheskie's bakery where they were from to see what it look liked inside. Then we took a walk while she talked about the original history of the neighborhood, tried their local bagels (kind of sweet as made with honey water, had it with Liberté cream cheese which I'm told is the only way to go), we walked to another bakery to get some rugelach, and ended up getting pastrami from Schwartz's which had a huge line (that we were able to cut!) We saw a lot of historic buildings, some used for new purposes, some just the former locations. It was really interesting. If you come, bring a big bottle of water! It's a lot of walking and that's not included in the food. I got to try a lot of food I hadn't before and if i were in town longer, I'd hit up those establishments for other goodies. A lot of learning and good snacks. It's a lot of carbs though! You will be full. So do the walking tour, it ends at the museum which is not much, but at least you can sit a sec before carrying on with your day. Was really fun and unique!

There's quite a bit of wind on the lake and when we were there, it was blowing toward the shore on the village side. Our kayaking only got us out past the anchored boats so we wanted to see the rest of the lake by boat. The friendly crew consists of captain Yves and Pierre and Julie who handles payments. You can purchase tickets while boarding the boat where Julie will complete your purchase with an iPad and Square. It takes just 30 seconds. However, if you buy your tickets online, you will get a bit of a priority to choose the upper deck. The covid rules are that passengers must wear their mask at all times and must not change decks once assigned. If passengers order a drink they must be seated in order to drink it because they would take their mask off. Toilets are not for heavy duty use so go to the bathroom before the cruise. If they run out of space on the upper deck there's only room for eight people on the bottom deck outside. In order to secure a spot you must show up at least 30 minutes before departure, otherwise you'll end up sitting indoors on the bottom deck. The bottom deck is open and when traveling in the direction of the wind, it can get pretty chilly depending on the season so definitely bring a wind breaker! There's both an audio track narration in English and French as well as by the captains about the lake Tremblant. You'll learn a bit of the lake and the region's history. The boat goes almost to the secluded northern end of the lake to view the sleeping giant's head before turning around. The cruise offers a great view of the mountains surrounding the lake and an exclusive peak at the multi-million dollar mansions nestled along the mountains surrounding the lake. I think this cruise would also be really great in the fall with all the mountains in their autumn glory.
