Run and don't look back. While the reception and staff were super helpful, I could not get over how old and smelly the room and building was. Granted it is an "older" building and I booked it because of its location within Paris. It looks nothing like it shows on the website. We booked the Junior suite because we need a room for us and my two kids. First, the carpet is old and it smells like someone's grandma's old house. They have an elevator but it would only fit 2 people at a time. It's only 3 floors but the stairs are so narrow, making bringing your luggage up or down the stairs a bit tough. It's definitely not ADA.
Thank goodness we only booked it for two nights. The sofa bed has a thin mattress on it that would squeak each time my kid would move in it. The room was so small we didn't have room to put our luggage anywhere. The tub did not drain without rooming the drain. The toilet room was really small and was situated in the middle between the bed and the other room.
The TV didn't offer much as the only channel you could get was all in French. Everything looked broken or dirty. It was classified as a 3 star hotel, but I would say it's more like 1 star because it has a sleeping area and a bathroom. The sheets on the sofa bed were thin and you can feel the spring on the sofa bed when laying on it. The double bed was actually good. It was located on a "party" alley as we heard many people partying thru our night stay there.
The only good part of the room was we could see the Elifle Tower from our window from afar. We did not do the breakfast buffet but I did go look at it. I suggest you don't either. It was $19 EUR pp and it did not look appetizing.
I would be more upset if I had to pay $175 a night for this room, but I used my mileages on my credit card to book it so it was kinda of free? To be honest I would have booked and pay more for a much better room even if the location was a bit further away. I never felt comfortable sleeping in the room as it just seemed dirty and smells and looked like a nursing home, even if it had a Parisian view of the Elifle. read more
