I had already visited Hollabaugh Bros. during last summer's Blueberry Festival and had such a great experience that when I realized my Sunday adventure schedule would put me only about 20 minutes away from their 11th Annual Strawberry Festival, there was absolutely no question about whether I was going. Add in the fact that I had just finished a 4.5-mile hike and was STARVING? This became an immediate priority. I arrived around 12:15pm and was immediately impressed by how smoothly everything was running. One of several parking attendants guided me to a super-close parking spot, and within minutes I was heading toward the festivities. Kudos to Hollabaugh Bros. for absolutely nailing the logistics. No confusion. No backed-up traffic. No chaos. Just friendly people efficiently moving visitors through the process so everyone could get to the important business of strawberries. The festival itself was packed with exactly the kind of charm you'd hope for from a family farm celebration. The event featured live music, local artisan vendors, wagon rides, food trucks, strawberry desserts, and enough strawberry-themed treats to make any berry lover ridiculously happy. One of my favorite parts was discovering that they had once again set up the indoor tasting room. Last year this was one of my favorite parts of the Blueberry Festival, and the strawberry version was just as much fun. Staff members encouraged visitors to sample everything from strawberry salsa and syrups to dips and warm strawberry crisp. They were also offering samples of several sausage varieties sold in the market. I tried one, immediately fell in love with it, and ended up bringing a package home with me before leaving. The market itself was filled with strawberry-themed goodies alongside Hollabaugh's regular offerings, but I had one mission. Last year, I missed out on the famous Blueberry Sugar Cakes and spent an embarrassingly long amount of time thinking about that mistake afterward. So this year I was determined not to repeat history. When I spotted Strawberry Sugar Cakes, I practically lit up. The only problem? They were sold in packs of six, and while I enjoy sugar as much as the next person, even I have limits. I asked one of the employees if it might be possible to buy just one. Instead, she kindly repackaged three for me and sold me a smaller portion. My blood sugar, my waistline, and my future self all deeply appreciated the compromise! Outside, I made my way to the strawberry dessert tent where they were serving strawberry sundaes, strawberry crisp, and strawberry milkshakes. Since I'd been craving a milkshake all morning, that decision was easy. Armed with my strawberry milkshake and my precious strawberry sugar cakes, I found a sunny bench near the live musician and settled in. And honestly? That was probably my favorite part of the entire day. The weather was beautiful. The acoustic music was playing softly nearby. Families wandered through the festival. Kids ran around enjoying the activities. People chatted, laughed, sampled treats, and enjoyed a perfect late-spring afternoon. Meanwhile, I sat there happily bopping along to the music, eating strawberry sugar cake, sipping one of the best strawberry milkshakes I've had in a long time, and appreciating the fact that sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones. At this point, festivals at Hollabaugh Bros. are becoming two things for me: a chance to grab specific treats I know I'm going to love, and an opportunity to spend a few hours soaking up one of the most relaxed, welcoming, and enjoyable atmospheres around. Reasonable prices. Fantastic staff. Plenty of parking. Great food. Great events. Zero stress! I absolutely love this place and can't wait for their next fruit festival adventure!

We usually purchase many many dozens of years and we freeze it to enjoy over the winter . They also have freshly picked peaches of all different varieties, which are simply incredible. And let us talk apples, the apples are freshly picked and sold, and they have so many different varieties and honestly, this is probably the best place to purchase your fruit and vegetables because everything is grown right there on acres and acres and acres of land. The building is very well organized, and all of the fruits and vegetables are well marked for what type they are in price and it's extremely clean and welcoming inside . The staff are extremely helpful if you have any questions on what the different fruits and vegetables are and what they would recommend for canning versus eating and etc. The location is extremely easy to get two minutes off of Route 15. As someone who takes peanut butter desserts perhaps a little more seriously than the average human being, I immediately started making a list of the top contenders. Oak Grove Farms kept popping up, so when I found myself with a free rainy Saturday afternoon, it became time for an official Peanut Butter Pie Procurement Mission. Now, Oak Grove Farms offers way more than peanut butter pie. Their farm market is stocked with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, locally made items and all kinds of other goodies. But this particular Yelp review? This mission? Laser-focused on peanut butter pie. Before leaving home, I called to make sure I wouldn't drive over only to discover they'd sold out. The nice lady who answered the phone happily confirmed they still had peanut butter pie available. Mission status: ON! When I arrived, I was actually surprised by how busy the farm market was despite the rainy weather. Apparently a little rain isn't enough to keep folks away from Oak Grove, which is always a good sign. I walked straight inside and made an immediate beeline for the refrigerated pie case. There were only two individual slices of peanut butter pie left, so I grabbed one before anyone else could beat me to it. They also had half and whole pies available, but let's try to exercise at least a little self-control on the first visit. The damage? A whopping $2.49 for a slice of peanut butter pie. I actually laughed. That's almost suspiciously affordable these days. As I was heading toward the register, I made the mistake of walking past the whoopie pies. Or perhaps the best decision of the day. Five minutes later, I was walking out with not only my peanut butter pie but also a Shoofly Whoopie Pie for another $2.50. My picnic dessert situation had officially escalated. Fast forward a few hours...dinner was over. It was dessert time. The peanut butter pie absolutely lived up to the hype! The filling was light and fluffy while still delivering a rich peanut butter flavor in every bite. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chocolate cookie crusts on peanut butter pie because I think they sometimes overpower the filling, but this one worked beautifully. Even the little dollops of whipped topping around the edge added just the right finishing touch. This one has officially earned a spot near the top of my Central PA peanut butter pie rankings! And then...the Shoofly Whoopie Pie. I honestly bought it because I'd never seen one before and curiosity got the better of me. And, I'm really glad it did! It was incredibly moist with a rich molasses flavor that came through beautifully without being overwhelming. It was unlike any whoopie pie I've had before, and easily one of my favorite varieties I've tried in quite a while. Mission accomplished! While Oak Grove Farms is clearly much more than just a destination for desserts, this peanut butter pie expedition was an overwhelming success.
