Real comfort food and classic street-food style offerings you would find throughout the Dominican Republic. The setup is buffet style, so you walk up, choose what you want, and they either plate it for you or pack it to go. Food is delicious and the portions are huge - and the price is very good for what you get! The fresh drinks are also sooo yummy, definitely worth trying. It can get really busy depending on when you go and parking can be a pain, but they do have a lot. It is definitely authentic and a great local spot. The times I have gone, I got takeout but they do have a few tables if you wish to eat there. It is one of those not so hidden, but unsuspecting surprises. The staff mostly speaks Spanish, but don't let that stop you (if you don't speak Spanish) from going in there. Unlike other reviews I read, This white girl from MHD (well not from there...) was treated perfectly well. I had the beef (large) and chicken (small) I pointed to what looked good. Which was hard because it all looked really good and Spanish rice (there were three different kinds) they were out of plantains, but there was a whole array of other things we should have tried, my Spanish is rusty and my teenage son was mortified that I even tried. Best and most authentic Dominican food in the area. My boyfriend and I have been coming for the past 15 years. Service can be spotty at times depending on who is helping you but otherwise still worth the trip. Serving sizes are usually on the more heavy side and relatively cheap (again, dependent on your server). The time of day you go is important as you may get their old rice and meats which aren't as satisfying as their food fresh. My favorite dishes are the oxtails, carne asada, guisado, rice and beans. This place has some of the best Dominican food ever! However, if you don't know exactly what everything is, don't expect to get the friendliest of service. Also, not the cleanliness place to sit and eat. Take it to go! They have yellow rice with red beans, rice with black beans or white rice. My usual go too, along with the pork on the side. Pastelitos, today I got chicken but usually prefer beef ones and a sweet potato ball with some plantains. Ask for a lime wedge because sometimes they don't give you one. Prices are pretty cheap. I called this morning and was put on hold by a women I was by north shore mall and was on hold the whole drive all the way until I got to the restaurant! Incredibly delicious food. I used to go here every weekend but the last time I went I was blatantly overcharged by the young lady that works there. I go there every weekend and get the same exact thing with no deviation, so I'm not sure why she thought I wouldn't notice. Customer service is not good at all but I didn't mind because the food was so good. After being overcharged like this I could never trust them again, so I won't be going back as sad as that is. I'm not saying don't go to this restaurant, just make sure you know the prices before ordering anything or they'll make up absurd prices while ringing you out. My favorite Dominican joint. Drove up here all the way from Worcester every time. The food is always the best. I love their chicharron and white rice with sweet plantains. The chicharron has a perfect flavor and perfect crispness to it. Their white rice has an amazing flavor. The food is always good here but their service isn't great. (They give u enough for two people) With rice and beans with chicken and sauce/pork and sauce/beef and sauce/ steak and onions and peppers. A lot of fried foods also. Don't forget the bean sauce! This is so far a good place when you in a hurry and have no time to cook. The food is very taste I love the arroz con guandules and pollo guisado. The only thing that I didn't like is that on winter time the place is cold and the food well gets cold very quickly so it's hard to actually enjoy it. Staff not so friendly but I still always tip even if it's just a buck or two because once in a while you'll get a smile (rare though) unless you speak Spanish then you definitely get a little better customer service. Love the food here. Love the Mondongo no where is it better. The ravo is bomb. Never had an issue with the food. The service could be the second worst ever. The line has no order the servers don't listen. I order something it isn't what I wanted had to throw it away and no refund. I was shocked that there wasn't even an attempt to rectify. They have a wide selection of Caribbean(Dominican) food that you can choose from. I go here often and never really have an issue with the food. It's an awesome place to pick up food and not have to wait long because it's already prepared. Although, I haven't been too satisfied with the platano maduros(fried sweet plantains) and quipe(deep fried bulgur). The "maduros" are either too dry or not fries enough and too oily.
