Well what can I say about this Boston gem although in neighboring Quincy. It is everything you want in a clam shack fresh tasty fried and broiled seafood burgers for the non partakers and a couple of other options. Experts at frying your seafood and the flour actually has some flavor mixed in not like Belle Isle. Which is Bland af. The warm Lobster Roll was the most succulent and tender and rich thing you could imagine and sooo much butter on the hot dog bun. Highly recommended the fisherman's platter was the best I've had although value wise not so much. Still this place is a dream come with some time to chill and one hundred bucks. And you won't regret it.
I love this place and where it's located it's right across from the Wollaston beach! Came here for a lobster roll! It was ok! It wasn't the best one I've had so far but still it was yum! The meat was a bit rubbery. I still would come back and try some clam stuff though I just had to get the lobster roll because it said "Tony's famous lobster roll." Still if you see this review do not skip out on this spot super casual service was great lots of seating available :).
Went there with a friend to see their new outdoor patio and listen to some live music (weekends only from 5-8) I've been going there a few years since the Clambox has new owners and quality went downhill Food was still delicious but prices have gone way up and portions have gone way down. Cup of chowder was very small for $10 and clam strip roll also meager for $21. Ordered my grandson a kids meal hot dog for $15!! Music was great, love the patio. If we go again it would be just to listen to music and have a few cocktails
Cute seafood spot right across the street from the beach. Large menu, something for everyone even if they don't like seafood. Burgers, salads, etc. My mom loves their lobster roll. The seafood platter was great. There was a nice variety on it. Scallops, steamers, calamari, shrimp, fish, etc. Food came fast. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Clam shop more like seafood haven. This shop had all the fried seafood from crab to shrimp and clams and oysters and more. On my way into town this place was poppin and didn't disappoint. I went for the lobster roll with butter and a house made mix drink. A storm was rolling in while eating, but the service was fast and the food made it easy to eat quick.
Some of the best and most stuffed lobster rolls in the Boston area. There is a long line/wait and it is a bit of a hectic experience not overall it is worth it. Especially a nice location with the beach right there.
The wait is long but ti be expected since it is a place that serves consistently delicious food and made freshly. Portions here particularly with the lobster roll are bigger (more lobster) though pricier than some other seafood places. Our favorites are the seafood platter, calamari platter, and lobster roll. The crab cake sandwich and clam chowder were okay. May try just the crab cakes by itself next time. Overall, very good and highly recommend.
Stopped by for a scallop fix. I ordered a fried scallop plate with onion rings, no fries . Excellent sea scallops with a strong scallop Taste as fresh . Good quantity for the Money . Onion rings nice light batter and excellent ... scallops fries? Moist and some of the better sea scallop size scallops I have had. Cole slaw lousy and needs improvement . Was all white bland cabbage... I want colored cabbage, pepper, creamy wet dressing ... add a kick of paprika and even better.
I come here a lot, but today was a pretty good time. Beautiful weather, good seafood, cold brew, and some of the best customer service I've had here so far. Gary is pretty cool- I was well taken care of. And Patrick was kind and patient even while dealing with the crowd and register issues. Even the playlist was alright- I knew a few songs that were played. A nice lil mix. I've been living in this neighborhood for 20 years now and for the first time in a long time, it actually felt welcoming.
I landed at Logan, jumped into a Hertz rental, then jetted directly to Tony's. The clam chowdah. So thick, and creamy, and clammy. The way it is supposed to be. Large boatload of fat belly clams. Crispy, crunchy, and not greasy. The best and largest lobster rolls on earth. Tony I love you. I ate your food and now I can go back home a happy man.
I would have given 4 stars if the food had any seasoning. Sadly not salted or seasoned. A shame really because everything was fresh and prepared very well. Also one small complaint, the onion rings tasted of flour mainly.
Dined here for Fathers Day lunch. Arrived around 1:45 pm. Parking challenges this day but found a spot in the residential area just a ways down. Small parking area at the restaurant Rustic very casual spot. Haven't been here in years but it remains the same and nostalgic. It was packed on this beautiful day, weather was perfect for grabbing a seat on the front patio for ocean views but no such luck It's first come first serve for seating. There is also seating in the back w a full bar. Live music started around 5 when we were leaving, wish it started earlier! The guitarist was good! The line to order inside went pretty quick. It was the wait that was long, over an hour. All seating, front back or inside is pot luck, and a bit stressful when u are hungry, know u have an hour wait and people are hanging around waiting to grab a table as someone leaves. It's too bad they don't have a hostess working the seating on holidays, that would be ideal. But we grabbed a couple drinks. I kept a lookout in the back and my daughter stayed up front, and we texted if we got lucky. We ended up out back at a table w an umbrella and enjoyed the frozen pina colada's which were fantastic. Let's face it, it's expensive for fried clams and fish, if you want quality. It was delicious for sure, but would have liked more clams on the plate. Clams were tender and fried just right, not heavy. So good! There were yummy fries and great Cole slaw. I think there were about 12 clams. Nice sized bellies, but thought there would be more considering the cost of the plate. Fish was fresh and a fair portion. Enjoyed our afternoon and would go back again but probably not at a peak time to alleviate the wait. And to also try and get a seat on the waterfront.

Granted it was a Sunday and the weather was great. Menu offered a lot of fried options. We ordered the fish, scallops, calamari and clam bellies for fried options. The lobster roll and clam chowder.. all of it came to $160. A little pricey for the quality of food. Lobster roll was really good! And clam chowder delicious. Which the sandwich was a little bigger, but it is what it is. Overall, the experience was a 3.7 out of 5.
In addition to laziness, I've help up a few reviews because I'm just not sure, and I might be wrong in rating Tony's a mere four stars. The clams were great, well-prepared and full of fresh oceanic vibes. The setting was delightful. But the fries seemed kind of BK-esque. One can get fries anywhere and rarely find clams of this caliber so maybe I'm being overly harsh but I feel like first-rate spuds are part of the experience. It would easier if Yelp switched to full decimalization. The raspberry lime rickey was a fun, unique offering. read more

Staff was friendly, service was very good, and fast. Place is very clean, and sits across the beach area with views of water and Boston skyline. I would say my go-to-place if I am in the Boston/Quincy area for fried seafood. Portions are reasonable size and priced. I haven't been here in a couple years, have tried other places closer where I live in Central MA (Kimball Ice Cream) offer fried seafood or Northern MA (woodman's). I would say... other places are just as good or better, bigger portions and just as fresh, priced appropriately. We had the Oysters platter w/onion rings, fried seafood platter and broiled sea scallops. The broiled scallops was a bit overcooked, dried vs the fried sea scallops in the seafood platter was perfect & juicy and plum. The onion rings were okay, had better at Kimball's with more. If I'm meeting with family or friends in the Boston or Quincy area, I pick Tony's Clam box, they don't disappoint, they do get busy on nice days. read more

This place has amazing fried seafood that's a perfect for a nice summer day. Ordered the seafood platter and fried clam box as well and it was amazing quality fried seafood that's hit the spot and my craving. The restaurant has a decent amount of indoor searing and patio seating with umbrellas where a lot of people choose to sit to view the beach and water nearby. The menu is pretty vast with a lot of different seafood and comfort options. They also have a large drink menu as well and additional seating in the back. I have been here a couple times and it never disappoints. Looking forward to coming back in the future next summer. read more
Good Food, good location It's a nice causal seafood restaurant with other offerings as well as some Mediterranean specialties. It's an order at the counter restaurant with open seating. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside. Tony's does have a nice view of the water and the Boston skyline. You can't go to Quincy without a drive down Wollaston Blvd., and you can't drive down Wollaston Blvd. without seeing and ultimately stopping at Tony's Clam Shop. Fried Clams, Fried Scallops, Onion Rings, all top o' the line! TIP: Fried Scallops regular order - you won't believe how many sea scallops you'll get, probably a dozen. Ridiculous, so worth the 30 bucks. You couldn't buy them at the seafood store for that price. Thanks read more

Tonys clam the food is very good I got a lobster roll which had plenty of meat in it very tasty and you can also eat outside outback and they come serve you good place to have a summer dinner and they also have music on weekends. read more
Tony's Clam Shop is a such a gem in Quincy! Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to hit up in the summer for some yummy, fresh fried seafood platters, or even just a raspberry lime rickey haha. I love getting clam bellies whenever I get fried seafood! We also enjoy getting a seafood platter, typically with scallops & clam strips. When we visited Tony's the other day, we ordered both platters & opted for onion rings for our sides. What we ordered & prices: -clam plate (w/ bellies) $39.20 -seafood combo plate (w/ scallop + clam strips) $41.20 -2 large raspberry lime Rickeys $14.30 Their raspberry lime rickey is sooo good! I guess nowadays they charge ~$7.15 each for a large but definitely a must if you love raspberry lime rickeys like we do! Everything was fresh... scallops were HUGE the day that we went & very delicious. Ordering is pretty quick & easy; line inside with two cashiers. They give a buzzer to let you know when it's ready to go inside to pick up your order. Parking: they have their own parking lot that you can pull into but definitely be careful when pulling in if you have a sedan because a lot of people end up scraping the front of their cars entering/exiting. There are free parking spots across the street by the beach, as well. Happy eating! read more
Loved the fried seafood here and have been here a few times. We got the seafood plate on this last visit though. My favorite in there was the scallops, so maybe I should get that separately next time! The shrimp was a good size too. The slaw was a little heavy on the dressing for me, wish it was lighter. Would love to try a lobster roll, but it's a bit pricey compared to other lobster rolls that I like already. There's indoors and outdoors seating and the food came out quick enough, which we appreciated. read more
A local staple in quincy! I prefer Tony's mainly for their raspberry lime Ricky in a jumbo cup! Always a must for me with any Tony's fried seafood meal. We went on one of the first hot days this summer mid day, light traffic, plenty of outdoor seating before the dinner rush. 2 platters ordered: + Scallop and clam strip plate with onion rings! Scallops are larger style (not necessarily jumbo) and clam strips fried perfectly. + full clam belly plate with onion rings! Juicy! Now, i do wish the fried seafood out here seasoned their batter, but Tony's has condiments for every flavor needed. Salt, pepper ketchup, tartar, mayo, siracha, franks red hot etc. without condiments it would be too bland for me. It's always cooked real well. For the price they do give you the pile and you'll be full. Other spots would give you HUGE scallops or clam belly's, charge same price but you only get 4-5 pieces on top of French fries. Again always a favorite for the summer pop in. Chill by the cool breeze of the beach and soak in the day. Weekends get crazy out here and the place gets packed, so we usually hit it mid-week if possible! read more
After reading an article that Tony's Clam Shop had some of the best whole belly clams in New England, I drove the hot rod over two hours to find out... Quincy, Massachusetts is on the South Shore of Boston, well known for seafood. Tony's Clam Shop does not disappoint. I loved ordering at the counter, given a pager, and then the pager goes off when the order is ready. You pick up your food and you go sit either in the dining area or outside street side overlooking the Harbor. I put in the order for only whole belly clams, a medium box, for $41. I also ordered a fountain drink. Within 10 minutes my order was ready. Now that I'm a senior and I've been around the block a few times, my love for whole belly clams is deep, and these were some of the best whole belly clams I've ever had. Almost like they were flashed fried, you could taste the freshness with each bite. I think these clams were harvested across the street, in the ocean about an hour before they were cooked for me, but who am I to judge! The accompanying tartar sauce seemed homemade and on point. If you are on the South Shore of Boston, this has to be a stop. The service was friendly, parking was easy peezy, and the trip through Boston was really nice. Quincy, Massachusetts is just beautiful. I think I could've sat at my outdoor table all afternoon just taking in the sites. This was a wonderful experience. read more

What a huge disappointment. Went last night, over 200 dollar bill for me and my family on my visit back home. We always go here, but last night The food was terrible, including one of my usual favorites, scallops. Over cooked, not fresh, burnt taste. The whole clams also were not good. If I didn't know better I would say it was frozen and oil was burnt, but I do not know for sure why it was so bad. Literally my whole family, 6 of us, did not like the food, honestly we should have sent it back, got our money back, and left. Not sure if it is under new management, or just too early in The season, but was not good. read more

My fiance and I have been dying to try Tony's and wow it did not disappoint! While the food is a little pricey the portions are huge, and we both got the fish and chips which was really good. They have a nice outdoor backyard space with a full bar and live music. The staff is friendly and it's overall a really fun dining experience. Will definitely be going back to try more of their menu!! read more

Came here last week, and so glad I did. I love taking morning walks at Wollaston beach and ending it with a clam strip plate. The food was fresh and didn't take long to be ready. When you place your order they give you a pager that will vibrate when your order is ready. I've never had a lobster roll and I got one from here with drawn butter and it wasn't too bad. It was a lot of claw meat which I am not a fan of, but there was a lot of meat on the roll. It was $40 so I'd hope they have a good amount. I just ask they actually add some seasoning, rather than a sprinkle of paprika on top. The clam strip plate was a little lacking in clam strips and I opted out of Cole slaw and asked for extra fries but there was still Cole slaw I had to take off the plate. They had a new raspberry lemonade frozen drink for those that are 21+ and it was really good on a warm day. I did take away a star because my order was not right, a little skimp, and I'm not a fan of all the claw meat in the lobster roll. The restaurant inside and out was clean, and the workers were friendly. read more

Lobster Roll was beyond amazing. Had the warm lobster and butter and have to say it was the best lobster roll I have ever had! Nice relaxing restaurant to be out on a Sunday with the family. Only time we encountered the staff was when we ordered the food and the service was good. Will definitely be back again for that lobster roll! read more

Tony's never disappoints! We got the broiled fish and jumbo shrimp and they were fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The clam chowder was great too. It's a nice place to enjoy seafood that's located next to the beach and there are outdoor seatings where you can enjoy the breeze from the ocean, view of the beach + ocean. The staff were friendly. Highly recommend this place as it only opens in the summer! Food: 8.5/10 Value: 8/10 Experience: 9/10 Service: 9/10 read more
Included 2024 menu. Tony's Clam Shop is the best fried seafood shop in the Boston area and it's outside of the Boston area. I'm a huge fan. For 2 people, our favorite order is an oyster basket, medium scallops box, large clam chowder, + drinks. They serve alcohol here now so enjoy when you are dining out. I usually order to go and have beer ready at home. read more
