I was driving back home from a weekend in London. I was hungry and stopped in Cambridge at this diner. It was a warm day. Flies were around me at the booth. When I walked into the restaurant, I got some uncomfortable stares. I can only guess that tall Chinese women don't frequent this location much. If I were in Markham, I don't think that I would get such rude stares. I ordered the Ronaldo hamburger, which had two monstrous beef patties. It came with fries. I also ordered a side of gravy. The burger was okay, but the patties were highly salty. It was a large burger. Towards the end, I left the bun and ate everything else. The fries were not yummy. The gravy came late. I had to remind my server that I had ordered it. The gravy was also salty. The staff there are nice. I had a good conversation about Markham. if I am ever back here, I will try other items on the menu. I am hoping that the sodium count is reduced. We've been going here for a while and the service hasn't been bad and today it wasn't too bad. BUT. Today we ordered the fish and chips special. My wife's coleslaw had a dead bug in it. Wish we had taken a picture. We called the waitress over to show her and she said "oh do you want another coleslaw?" Ah no. Then later she came back over then said "well it happens". Horrible experience! The burnt omelettes and stale cold toast weren't even our biggest issues. The 14" hair my wife found in her omelette was absolutely gross. Restaurant takes accountability for 1/2 of her plate but makes sure to let us know that "everyone is wearing hats (not true) and nobody has long hair". Wow. Basically paid for the half that of the omelette she ate until she encountered the hair imbedded in it and was compensated for the other half she couldn't eat unless she felt like coughing up hairballs later. Management and staff took no accountability for this situation and I would not spend my money here again. read more

I love this little spot. Its owned by a hard working family and its the kind of place i love to support. We dropped by on our way too London to drop off my son at his residence. The food is typical diner. The menu maybe a little too large for my liking but the food that we had, eggs benny, chicken and caesar and their melt were all spot on. The melt was a little too eggy for me but If u love hash and omelettes, it might be your cup of tea. Its simple, straight forward cooking but the chef has a delicate hand in the kitchen. Wasn't exactly what was expected. I ordered spicy chicken with 3 eggs and asked what kind of chicken n whether it was a leg or a breast etc. I was told it was pieces of chicken. I stumbled upon Tony's diner while making a road trip and I'm glad I did. It's a family run business and you can tell that they make their food fresh and care about making the customer happy. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was hands down the best chicken souvlaki I've ever had. The owner of the restaurant and the waitress came by and checked on us and asked how the meal was 3 times during our visit. Quality, fresh, tasty food for such great prices too. I know in Toronto I'm easily looking at paying almost double for a meal at par. Very impressed and highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The service was great. The food was average. I ordered fish and chips and kids burger's the fish and chip's was average and one burger was perfect. The other was a little under cooked ( pink) so I confronted the waitress she asked if we would like a new one. Received the Bill and the uncooked $5 burger was on there. Cambridge is very nice and this place I'm sure is a good place to eat and things happen. Price was fair and lots of food. read more

Food is good but for some reason the price of their meals change apparently with in the week, was at this restaurant Monday and was charged one price then went today on a Friday and was charged a higher price for the exact same things. Wasn't impressed. I was then told they wold charge me the same and assuming that was what would happen i didn't double check the screen i was charged the higher price. We go here often for breakfast because the food is cheap and good, as well the staff is very friendly. Isn't the most impressive place ever for visual appeal but it's a nice low key meal out. I wouldn't order anything too fancy - just stick with the typical stuff - bacon and eggs.
