This "mom and pop" resort continues to be an outstanding Minnesota vacation spot. The most…read moreimportant element in the quality of a resort are the owners. Bob & Julie Schimerowski took over the long established resort in 2017 and did a complete renovation. There are six well-cared for cabins that accommodate from two to six bedrooms. The cabins come well equipped with kitchen supplies and are air conditioned. The resort is super kid friendly (but no pets), has the perfect swimming area for kids, as well as a pristine lake. There is an abundance of fish that can be caught from the many docks. There are several pontoon boats that can be rented by the half-day, full day, or week. All other boats and equipment can be used for free. These include peddle boats, canoes, kyacks, peddle bikes, and a water slide, as well as life jackets, paddles, etc. They also have many land games from badminton to corn hole, as well as many others. There is a central lodge with many additional games, as well as ice cream, and a washer dryer (the washer/drier have small charges to use). Bob and Julie add new amenities every year. I really appreciate their responsiveness to any issue, question, or request. They are very friendly, as well as professional. This place deserves six out of five stars!

The specific issue is detailed below: In January, 2021, in exchange for an agreement to purchase a new Starcraft boat Miller Marine offered a trade in credit of approximately $4,000-$5,000 for a used boat. Miller Marine's trade-in offer was consistent with the trade in value of $4,500 that another boat dealership had offered. · After the full purchase price had been paid in January, 2021 and 6 weeks after cashing the check of the new boat purchase, Miller Marine stated that it would offer $0 for the Crestliner boat (after follow up phone calls following drop off of the boat). Miller Marine offered to bring the boat to a nearby boat auction business, with which it disclosed it had an "ongoing business relationship." Miller Marine explained that our family would be responsible for auction fees and would only receive the amount of money obtained at auction. · Within one week, we were able to sell the Crestliner boat to a different dealership for $4,500. Our family contacted Miller Marine on the phone believing there must have been an honest mistake that allowed this situation to occur. First, we didn't understand how the offer could possibly be $0. Second, our expectation was that it should be their standard practice to disclose their "ongoing business relationship" with the auction company and the conditions for which they would not make an offer on the trade in boat as they said they would. The phone conversations led us to believe that this was not an honest mistake. Miller Marine did not disagree with the facts outlined and believed they did everything according to their company policies and those policies should not be changed to avoid this situation for future customers. We then sent a written statement with the same information to see if maybe there was just a miscommunication. We heard nothing back. We are writing this review to at least make anyone aware that if you are buying from Miller Marine, you should not sign any paperwork for a new boat if you are trading in a boat until the trade in is completely done. We also want others to be aware Miller Marine has an arrangement with an auction company in the event they do not honor their agreements to accept a trade in since Miller Marine apparently believes they do not need to disclose this to their customers. If you'd prefer to not have to go to all this hassle, we'd strongly recommend Boomerang Marine & Sports in Alexandria. They are honest and very helpful and you won't need to worry about special disclosures. When Boomerang Marine says they will do something, they will do it and will take care of you even after your purchase.

Once this was done had some further road noise with the vehicle but they will no longer stand behind because of the length of time since purchase, even though it still is within the 20,000 mile warranty. Not pleased that I could not get a return call from the management level and had to chase for a response, only to be given this answer. Poor customer service and they do not stand behind the vehicles they "certify" as good to go. Spend your dollars elsewhere.

I would certainly not give him your credit card, nor would I sign any of his lease agreements, nor would I allow him to run an extensive credit check to rent a cabin. Despite Josh's threat to sue me over posting bad reviews, the Consumer Review Fairness Act allows consumers to share our honest experiences without fear of lawsuit or retribution. I attest that my review is both 100% accurate and true. Sorry Josh, but you can no longer sue customers over bad reviews. The gist of my experience with Chartered Rentals is that I rented a boat and cabin with them (after paying a $40 fee for an extensive credit check where I foolishly disclosed both my social security number and my net worth). I rented the cabin for a week but the boat for only two days (as a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday). However, on both days it was impossible to start (neither my father or brother-in-law with decades of boating experience could start it). The boat was unusable until 1:00 on the first day and after 2:00 the second day (when the guys from Chartered Rentals came to start it). Do they refund for non-functioning boats? No! A clause in their contract excludes them from liability for breakdown, malfunction or time lost! Not only did the boat not start, the reverse gear would not respond properly. Once the boat finally started, my father (who operated the boat because he is an experience boater), could not reverse out of the dock on multiple occasions; neither would the boat reverse when approaching the dock. As a result, the boat skimmed the dock on one occasion while we were approaching and suffered a superficial scratch. What did Josh do? He adamantly denied any mechanical problems with his boat and charged my credit card an additional $1,000 for damages. Instead of buying any one of the highly-rated, aluminum boat scratch repair kits ($30-$46 for the color-match one online), he insisted the whole side of the boat needed to be repainted. Note that this was not a new boat, plus it was at the very end of August and as he noted himself, his boat had been rented almost every day of the summer (imagine the wear). I think he just wanted to spruce up the whole boat for next season! This is why you should not give him your credit card or sign his rental agreements: He said that I should not bother to dispute the extra credit card charge. He said that he always wins credit card disputes because he has the signed paperwork. I can attest to the accuracy and truthfulness of this review in any court of law.
