top cleaners: you still have my clothes. please call me/text me like you said you were going to!! i need my clothes back!!

Top Cleaners has bailed me out of more than one alteration emergency, and at very reasonable prices, too ... Several years ago, through a series of events which I'll not detail here, it transpired that I would be part of a bridal party in upstate NY ... with about three days notice. The dress was overnighted and arrived two days before I had to leave; it needed to be taken in a bit up top, the straps adjusted, and hemmed - but it was a lovely satin with an overlay, so the hemming was no joke. Top Cleaners - I found them because I lived a block away at the time - did it all overnight for $50. It was perfect. I've been totally loyal ever since, driving out of my way to go back. Just this morning I picked up a fallen-out-hem pant, a repaired-lining-pant, a hemmed dress, and a take-up-the-straps dress, all for under $40. In three days. Miracles, I tell you. Always pleasant, always reasonably priced, and always satisfactory. I'm almost sorry to tell folks about them; but that wouldn't be top behavior, now would it? read more

So convenient and cheap. I have been using them for over 2 years since moving to Chicago. The only concern I ever had is when I brought them a shirt with some studs on it. I pointed it out to them and told them about it. When I picked it up there was holes all over it. I explained my story and how it was only worn once just a few days earlier. I got my receipt to show it (shirt cost 90 bucks too!!) In the end, she refunded my the money for the shirt! That's what I call great costumer service. I recommend them to everyone and will continue to be a loyal costumer. read more

I was recommended this place for alterations for a bridesmaid dress. I dropped the dress off on a Monday and had specifically asked to pick up the dress the following Wednesday. The woman behind the counter told me no problem. The following Thursday... I had to pick up the dress a day later than requested, and she couldn't find the dress. She kept telling me I must be mistaken, that my dress was not there. I dug through a pile of dresses myself, and there was my dress...not even touched! I only needed the shoulder straps to be brought up an inch and a half. That's it, and they had 10 days to do it! When I asked her what happened, she didn't apologize, she just said give her 2 hours. I was leaving to drive to the wedding out of state and we couldn't wait. When she suggested a half hour, I said maybe, but I surely hope you are not still charging me $25? She said well maybe $20. I can't believe that the cleaner would still charge close to full price for their negligence, and with no apology whatsoever. I grabbed my dress and took it elsewhere with no issues. I will NOT be returning and I suggest you don't either. read more

Awesome. Reasonably priced, quick turnaround. Much better than my past dry cleaning experience.

Friendly, quick and reasonably priced. It's very convenient since they're only a couple blocks away, and have saved my butt numerous times when I needed an item with short notice. They're also really good at alterations, and have a pretty reasonable turn around time. read more

Gets you in and out quickly without fuss. Used Mark Twain on Addison a few times, but after a bad experience, we only come here. Also, she accepts credit cards which some dry cleaners won't do. read more

I thought I found the ultimate cleaners after they saved my white couch cushions from a large coffee stain for a very reasonable price. They were the only place around to even take this on, and the cushions look better than new. Then I decided to take some clothes there for cleaning, and two sweaters needed to be stitched up (along the hem, very minor). The cleaned clothes were fine but when I for home, I realized the two sweaters I paid for repair were not even touched. Very disappointed I paid for nothing. I ended up sewing them up myself. read more

There are many dry cleaners to choose from within walking distance from my apartment but I decided to try Top Cleaners because, well I have no real reason. I am SO GLAD I did. I brought in a uniform dress that specifically says "do not dry clean". It started to build up a slight smell around the neck because of sweat and gross airplane air (I'm a flight attendant) and the hem was falling out. I explained to the kind woman working there that I tried everything to get the smellout and that the hem needed redone. She asked when I would like it back and I was worried that Wednesday (brought it in Monday) would be too soon. But she said no problem! Totally surprised at how quick and CHEAP (less than $15) it was to fix up my dress. Smell is gone and dress looks good as new! Will be using Top Cleaners for all my dry cleaning needs. Warning! This place used to be great. It's a shame because I live down the street and it was convenient to have a good dry cleaners so close. It appears there is a new owner and I have had nothing but problems since. Between them losing the pants to one of my suits (and denying it) and giving me back dress shirts dirtier than when I dropped them off, I will not be returning to this awful place. P.S. They've tried giving me the wrong persons dry cleaning so many times..I have had to tell them they aren't my clothes. I'm assuming that's what happened to my suit pants... read more

Beware. I thought they did an okay job, I used them because of their location. Recently, however, I noticed that 3 items I had dropped off were missing but didn't have the receipt. I went in several times to inquire and they said they were not there. Finally, realizing there is no place my missing garments could be, I went in checking again. I told them I wanted to look through the rack of clothes, and low and behold I found my garments but they were under someone else's name. To top it off, the owner was rude, and never aplogoized. I will NEVER go to there again! read more

I have been taking my clothes to Top Cleaners for 2 years now. I had always been very impressed with the service and the work they did on my clothes. However, recently I have been being charged more and my clothes have shrunken! The colors are also faded on everything that I have brought in to them in the past few months. I believe that they have taken to washing and drying my clothes and ironing them to make them look dry cleaned. I have many ruined garments now that look washed out and too small. I am very disappointed and will not return to Top Cleaners ever again. read more

I was extremely satisfied and would give a 5 star rating to Top Cleaners, however they lost a pair of my dress pants. I've taken numerous items there on a regular basis and always experienced good customer service, recently I dropped off a pair of black Kenneth Cole dress pants along with two dress shirts. When I gave the pick-up ticket, I was only given the two dress shirts. I inquired about the pants, they looked for them and said they could not find them and would continue to look (two people were waiting after me so I understood they didn't have available time at that moment). The next visit, I inquired about the pants once again, followed by another search resulting in the statement "you already picked those up". I did not and was under the impression they were being looked for. With the tone suddenly changing and my pants apparently nowhere to be found or in another customers closet, I am now out a pair of nice dress pants. They have not been recovered and I'm being told they are in my possession, which they have not been since the date I dropped this pair of pants off for dry cleaning service. No monetary replacement has been offered or to my knowledge continued search for my missing dress pants. read more
