I brought them a pair of outdoor cushions that needed ties sewn on and they got them done quickly and economically--and even chose a matching color palette although I'd told them the ties wouldn't show and the color didn't matter. THEY GAVE AWAY MY GARMENT. I needed the sleeves to my navy blazer taken in for a wedding so I brought it in for tailoring on Monday, April 15. I told them that I needed it by Friday--ample time for them to tailor and dry clean the garment. Swung by before they closed on Friday, April 19, only to have the kind, old man behind the counter tell me they cannot find it and that someone "already picked it up." 10/10 would recommend ONLY if you want your clothing misplaced. 4/20 -- UPDATE: Called to tell me that they found the woman to whom they gave my blazer to, only to tell me that she cannot return it until Monday (after her boyfriend probably wears it out to their tacky Easter brunch at Applebee's). read more

I just had a great experience having a sequined dress altered here. It was a somewhat complicated alteration without much time. The seamstress got it perfectly on the first try. I wore the dress last night and was happy with the look and fit. read more

"Princess" is how I felt at Yelp's Spring Fling party, thanks to my newly altered dress! Yay! I was having a hard time with this 'retro' thing and had no idea what to wear. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money and I absolutely detest rummaging through thrift store racks (who has the patience?). In my closet was hanging my all time favorite formal, floor length ball gown. I had only worn it once and was sad that I probably wouldn't wear it again. But wait! It has a very constructed bust and a lot of tulle and a wide skirt...it could be sorta 50's if I had it cut down to tea length! I took it over to Princess Cleaners. The lady was very sweet while pinning me up but really didn't say much so I was a bit worried. She quoted me $60 and I thought that sounded way better than buying a new dress that I would never wear again. I picked up the dress two weeks later and OMG, it may be my new favorite for weddings, parties and such. I love it. It now fits like a glove (I also had to have it taken in a bit) and suits my style. These folks are fantastic. You wouldn't believe the miracles they perform on my clothes, or what hell I have put them through over the past year. Or maybe you would. . . you may remember me from such features as Courtgirl Goes To a Phish Show (turns out you CAN go camping in a business suit!) or missCarolJ's birthday (if you've ever wanted to view the life of a tragic ruffly blouse slowly suffering burnholes and missing buttons, you can actually track it on facebook). Between my wife and I, we've brought 4-5 pieces of clothing that has needed alterations. They do an incredible job and get the job done pretty quickly. I'm a huge fan of Princess Cleaners. I'd bring my dry cleaning to Princess, but I think they're a little on the expensive side. Especially when it's just a wash and press. This is based not on cleaning, but alterations... I just returned back from Princess Cleaners after picking up a garment that looked exactly the way it looked when I dropped it off five days ago. I have a peasant skirt that has several layers of hems, which were sewn relatively poorly when I purchased it, and holes have developed at the hems over the last couple of years, all of which I have just hand-sewn when they occurred. About to go on a trip to Greece, I wanted to have the skirt taken apart and re-sewn so it looked new. i wasn't sure that Princess Cleaners was in the business of doing such extensive projects, but based on the reviews here, I went in. I dropped it off, being very clear that I wanted it taken apart and totally re-sewn, and that I needed it by today. They said sure and told me it would be $10. I arrived today to find out that the seamstress "couldn't take out" my hand-sewn stitches (?!), and so I had just given them $10 for a skirt that had not been altered in any way. When I said, "It looks exactly the same as when I dropped it off, I'd like my money back," the man began picking at the hand-sewn stitches, putting a hole IN the hem, and said that I should come back Monday. I told him to stop picking at it, that I needed the skirt back today, that I would not be returning, and that I wanted my $10. He handed it over and I walked out... and I won't be going back. read more

I've heard so many horror stories from other people and their Cleaners. I've never had an issue with Princess. They always have my stuff ready when they say they will, and have never ruined any item of clothing. I've had items altered, dry-cleaned, laundered, and it's all done professionally, at a low cost. I use a new cleaner, closer to where I live now, but miss the service and cost of Princess. read more

Just found this place near my house and thank god I did. I thought I had absolutely ruined a brand new $80 Anthropologie top with a stain on the front and then several blue stains on the side from carrying a box that had ink that rubbed off. I'm kind of sad to give this place a bad review. I've had shirts and even a 'dry clean only faux fur blanket' done by this cleaners. I was happy with the results. But I brought in a rug that was fairly large and had to be sent off site. It cost $50.00 and I don't think they did anything to it. I just used my mom's carpet cleaner over this past weekend and the extracted water was black. I mean black as coal. I'm not going to try and get my money back, but I would advise that anything they have to send offsite may be a 'don't' as far as this cleaners is concerned. Very nice people though. read more

I go here because my hubby likes it here. It is actually pretty affordable. More affordable than most. Haven't had any huge problems with them except just one time. Princess Cleaners is great. I have never had a problem with them at all. As mentioned in other reviews, they are always on time, never mess with your stuff and the staff is super friendly! It is always nice to have them one block and pick up clothing on my way home from work. They are also reasonably price. A great place no doubt about it! read more

I've moved twice but still go back. This once-tiny shop has expanded their space in a small mall. Now for large orders they pickup & deliver, care for fur-trimmed garments, and even do small rugs. Definitely my much loved go-to dry cleaning establishment. When I pick them up my shirts and khakis are sparkling clean and beautifully pressed, my coats and jackets look almost good as new. The lady here does really nice tailoring (be sure to explain carefully). It is so nice to come in and be greeted by good people who are glad to see me. Why is it so hard to find a good cleaners - with reasonable prices? I owned a dry cleaners and laundry service for 10 years in Michigan. Maybe that's why I have a higher bar. All of the cleaners around here are drop off spots, some do the finishing and its all about mass quantity. - I will say they are nice here. And they offer reasonably priced alterations and repairs. They are about the best I found around here - but the prices have went up in the last 6 months....been coming here for about 6 years but I think I need to search again. read more

I moved from the Buena Park/Uptown neighborhood a week ago and my experiences with my new cleaners in my new 'hood has made me realize how good I had it with Princess for 3 years. The owners are awesome and really made me feel great about dropping off my stuff every week or so. Other than one shirt that was ruined (shiny factor due to pressing), I never had a problem here. They are relatively cheap, really close, and theres a ton of parking out front. Once I became a "regular". The only reason they don't get the 5th star is that they aren't open on Sunday... boo. read more

I needed a cocktail dress same-day dry cleaned for a last-minute event. My dress had been in a hamper bunched up in a ball, waiting to be dry cleaned, and even had a cocktail spill on it from the last time I wore it. I've used Princess Cleaner several times, and am generally satisfied with their service, but have noticed several shirt buttons have been damaged or melted by overly-hot presses. I've been going to this place since it opened and they've always been great. Aside from the laundry mat next door, they're the only original business in that plaza that's still operating. STAY AWAY!!! Several times now I've picked up my boyfriend's dry cleaning and noticed stains that weren't there prior on his lighter colored shirts. Last October I needed a quick strap tacked on a dress and it was done quickly and at a price for such a small job. Fast forward to this July...I was I'm a wedding and needed my bridesmaid dress altered. The woman never wrote down the measurements and I specifically asked her if it was something she could do. .. she assured me she could. 3 attempts and $60 paid later my dress was a MESS!! They advertise "expert alterations" and mu dress was so badly hacked up and patched that I was in tears. The black satin dress with ivory ribbon around it now had white satin patched in on the back and she cit the bow on the front, left strings hanging off it and then patched in what she cut on the sides of the dress!!! The day before the wedding when I arrived back in NY I ran to AC Moore looking for the same kind of ribbon and then to the bridal salon where I purchased the dress. They were in hysterics laughing bc they couldn't believe their eyes. Thank God they called me in a favor. Their seamstress redid the whole dress for &70 and were happy to write me a statement testifying the condition they received the dress in. I couldn't get back to Chicago quick enough to show Princess what the dress should have looked like when they were done, along with the receipt, and demand my $60 back!!!! :/ #nightmare read more
