I was so happy to find someone who could groom my sweet shipoo and I made an appointment with Tony. Met him with my dog in the parking lot. Tony did not introduce himself, was not friendly and asked where he'd been groomed and the last time he was groomed. He said, "I'll just shave him down." It was awkward interacting with him. When I picked my dog up less than an hour later, I paid Tony and tipped him 20 dollars, because I had not looked closely at my dog and from the back, he looked pretty good. I have never been with a groomer that did not have something nice to say about my dog or who failed to act as though they really wanted to be grooming my dog. I came back into the house and looked up Tony's website, because I wasn't sure the smiling guy in the pics was the same guy I'd just met with. When I got back into my apartment and looked at my dog, the front half of my dog's haircut was choppy, uneven and and had holes in it where too much hair was taken off in an uneven fashion. His face and top of his head and the front of his chest were uneven and choppy. His right front leg was shaved down to the skin on the back side. I had to take the dog to be fixed at another groomer. It's only been 6 days and the unevenness is even more apparent as his coat grows out. I would not recommend. read more

I have a peekaboo and his cut is consistent, if I ask for something different he always accommodates. I wanted to share with people looking for a mobile groomer what happened with my dog. I have a 12 year old dog with some spine and hip degenerative issues. We walk him every day but a limited amount. I informed the the scheduler and Tony of the situation and they said they work with older dogs. I also made a point to mention that he can't stand or walk for very long periods of time. Before I left my dog with Tony, i told him if he needs me to come and get me. Well, when my dog was done with his grooming I had to carry my 72# dog inside the house because he could not stand up or walk. It is 24 hrs later and he is still not back to normal despite giving him medication, doing massage to his hips and changing his normal routine. I am upset with Top Dog because I feel like it was more about doing the job and getting paid then the well being of my dog. Tony didn't even say sorry or I hope your dog feels better. If my dog was having a tough time with what Tony had to do, then he should have come and got me so we could have figured out another option instead of debilitating my poor sweet dog. They may be a good grooming service but I was disappointed in their "care" of my dog. Just something to think about...... read more

After the first visit was cancelled with little notice we hesitantly rescheduled for a mobile grooming service for our small breed dog. To little surprise they cancelled again after being 45 minutes past the stated arrival time.They notified us as they were driving away from our house, "they could not fit their vehicle in our parking area". At least they could have came to our door to let us know. The disappointing part is I clearly stated to them we lived in a townhouse complex and in a cul-de-sac. The company obviously has faulty scheduling and cannot keep appointments. They seemed to be overwhelmed and lack customer service. I recommend choosing one of the many other mobile pet grooming services this area offers as this is not a niche business in Apex, NC. read more
