Alpine worked to complete the siding near the end of the "gentle season" in the fall and worked in wind and around rainy days to keep the home protected from weather, while efficiently installing our chosen James Hardie product and windows at the same time as they moved from side to side amidst storms. The result was beautiful, with new trim boards added for effect, and everything tidily caulked before winter set in. It looked so wonderful, we even enjoyed the prime siding color before spring came and the paint could put the final touch on the project. Alpine's crews, always kind, upbeat, and efficient, made certain we were early on their spring calendar and completed the rather complex painting job perfectly. In early 2025 I decided I wanted to build a 30'x32' shop at my house for my own use. I got bids from 5 different contractors and I decided on Spane for three main reasons: First, in my initial and subsequent meetings with Michelle, their designer and estimator, I learned she was very knowledgeable, personable, and very easy to work with. She took me through the entire design/build process from the beginning to the end, cheerfully answered my questions and put up with me changing my mind several times during the process. Because of her thoroughness, there were no surprises from start to finish. She made it easy. Second, Spane's bid came in the lowest, but I thought it was reasonable as I had done my own estimate of materials and labor based on current costs. (Unlike some of these Contractors around here who jack their bids up to try to make a years profit from a 2 month project...) Third, and most important, over the years I had seen for myself the quality of their work and at the end of my build, my new shop is exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted. I got multiple bids to have my roof replaced and Bruno at Wind Proof Roofing was the one who followed up the most, which I appreciated. He was slightly less expensive than some others but just as responsive if not more. The one small difference is that he didn't have a flashy report outlining his bid - unlike the one another, larger roofing company provided. Instead, Bruno talked through my needs and summarized them on a single document with the pricing broken out. He also took a video of the roof and sent it to me, which was very informative and something the bigger company did not do. The other thing that really impressed me is that WP was the only company who wanted to check out my attic to ensure that there were no underlying issues before the work started. I really liked this approach since I don't like surprises when doing house work and demonstrated how thorough they are in approaching roofing projects. Bruno's team arrived on time and finished the house ahead of his promised time. I've never had a contractor finish ahead of schedule, so Bruno gets additional points on this one.
