While traveling south on I 35 from MN to AZ in Dec. of 2024, a gust of wind just north of Oklahoma…read moreCity managed to open up our 17 foot power awning while driving and rip it off of the side of our Class A diesel pusher and deposit it into a ravine along the interstate. Fortunately the awning didn't cause any damage to other vehicles traveling behind us other than damage to our F150 we were towing behind. Once we arrived in AZ, I filed a claim with our insurance company and made an appointment with RV Country in Laughlin, NV on 02/05/2025 to obtain a written estimate for replacement of the awning and repair damage caused to the RV sidewall when the awning was ripped off. The original OEM awning was no longer available, but the newest version was and I made a request to have that version installed on our RV. An appointment was made on 02/26/2025 for the repairs and installation of the new awning. After a few hours I received a text stating the new awning can't be installed and additional research and parts need to be ordered. New parts arrived and on 03/20/2025 an appointment was made to have the awning and repairs completed. After several hours I was informed the new awning was installed and I could stop by and pickup the RV. When we arrived and shown the operation of the new awning, we were informed they installed a different brand of awning then what was originally requested that the scratches that were to be buffed out of the sidewall of the RV weren't completed because they were afraid of removing the clear coat finish on the paint. RV Country still charged the same amount even though some of the work wasn't completed. Once we left the service center we started having problems and concerns regarding the new awning. The first time we used the new awning the LED light strip fell out of the awning roller tube. In addition the awning would extend while using the inside switch or the remote control, but wouldn't retract with either switch without someone physically pulling down on the awning arms while operating the switches. I contacted RV Country regarding the issues and on 04/14/2025 the RV was returned for the LED light strip replacement and the switch issues addressed. At that time RV Country decided to add an additional switch to be used to retract the awning and installed it in a basement storage compartment under a slideout room. At 68 years old and after 2 spinal surgeries I'm not as flexible as I once was , so this new switch placement was less than ideal. I also found out that RV Country never ordered or installed the control modules required to operate the new awning correctly. Their service department just jerry rigged the new awning wiring into the old control modules which started causing all sorts of issues when the awning was used. We were scheduled to leave to return home to MN on 04/15/2025 so these issues weren't addressed with RV Country until our return to AZ for the winter in Jan 2026. On 02/10/2026 the RV was returned to RV Country to have these issues addressed and we were shown that the awning was working correctly when we came for pickup. Once we arrived back at our resort, when we tried to use the awning the awning started extending correctly, then stopped and one end of the awning extended while the end closest to the entry door retracted causing the awning to rip the wiring for the LED light strip that had been jerry rigged into the patio light loose and caused the patio light to stop working along with some interior lighting and the power awning over the entry door to stop working. In addition there now were small holes and tears along the leading edge of the awning fabric. The RV was returned again on 03/02/2026 to the service center for repairs of the lighting issues and to address a warranty claim for the awning. Repairs were made to the interior lighting and the power awning over the entry door, but the wiring to the LED light strip wasn't repaired pending a awning warranty claim. RV Country never filed the warranty claim for the awning with the manufacturer, so we missed the warranty window and now have an awning that is virtually useless unless it's replaced. We returned to MN in Apr of 2026 but I have reached out recently to RV Country to address the issues but haven't received a response back. I recommend staying away from all of the RV Country dealerships and service departments because it's obvious they don't have the knowledge to repair or replace parts, nor do they care about the customer or customer service after the fact.

I recently had a problem with my steps and the cabin batteries dying even when hooked to shore power. Nathan fixed the steps and told me the cabin batteries were holding a charge. I took the RV home and the next day the cabin batteries were dead. We charged them and hooked them to shore power and the next day they were dead. The internet told me to look for something I was not sure of so I called Trotters and asked them to have Nathan call me when he had time. I live 25 miles from their shop and if it was a quick fix that would be great. Today I got a call from Valerie who said Nathan said they weren't dying there. No offer to answer my question. No offer to take a look at it. Just nothing! If he didn't want to do the job or was incapable of doing the job, just say so, but they gave me nothing! Basically gave me the brush off with no explanation. I know a shop in California that will fix it but I find it sad I have to take the RV 300 miles to find a shop that cares about their customers and reputation.
