I went to Top Line for years. I've even recommended this place to friends and family that became loyal. What killed it for me was that I came back for a repair on my chipped shellac on one finger that was only 3 days old. Laurie said we don't have that color anymore and left me sit there for almost an hour. I told her I'd be ok if the color is similar. Customers continued to come in and she assigned them to nail techs while I sat there waiting. At least 6 people were given service. I didn't know why I was still sitting there. So rude. I ended up leaving upset. She sent her little daughter out after me. I simply sad too late, no thanks. I refuse to ever go back. They are overpriced, rude, unsanitary, and their work is not quality. read more

Wow. Yelp, you super steered me wrong. I went here based on the great yelp reviews - but I guess my standards for a nail salon are higher than the other reviewers. I had gotten shellac at a great place in Dearborn, but wanted to get them redone closer to home. I walked in on a Sunday, which was nice that they were open, but my instinct as soon as I got in The door was to turn around and leave. There was at least 7 people there, 3 kids, and only two people actually working. There were men sitting around watching the hockey game and talking loudly - probably to so they could hear over the kids yelling. Not a good start. Then, onto the manicure. Instead of using the machines that I have seen everywhere to take off my gel polish, I was subjected to four rounds of soaking and scraping - while the manicurist was gentle, I couldn't understand why he was doing it this way. Especially after I saw another manicurist using one. The water I was supposed to be soaking my hands in has stuff in it (dirt? Old nail polish?!) and all of his tools he took out of his desk - not sterilized, or opened up from a new package like most places. Overall, the place is the opposite of relaxing. Crazy dirty carpet, nail polish bottles everywhere, and when my manicurist was done scraping my nails, he took the towel and waved all the polish bits onto the floor. GAH ROSS. Fluorescent lighting, drop ceilings - you could not PAY me to get a pedicure here. My nails came out ok, but not that great. I just wanted to get out of there. I had a Pedi and basic Mani. A day later my finger was sore. I went to the Dr. a week later due to swelling and pain. I also have visited the Urgent care when the pain increased over the weekend. I just had a third visit with a doctor and I am on my third antibiotic. I called the owner to inform her I got an infection and she just kept saying in 20 years no infection. come here I look at and see no infection. I informed her I have seen a doctor and have a confirmed infection, that see doesn't need to see it. I told her Im calling to make her aware of what happened. Went here last year, guy cut my nail and poured polish remover in my wound, which not only hurt like hell but it gave me an infection. This place sucks not to mention the furniture is torn and extremely old. Save yourself don't go here!! read more

Yelp did not let me down, once more a great place to go. I am gone so much on the road that don't have time to get my nails done in my home town. I have yelped nail salons all over the place and got good results. Lori, the owner, worked with me on my too old acrylic nails. Last time I had them done, the manicurist told me they needed to be removed. She agreed and took them all off, Gave me a gel set and said to give my nails a rest for a month. They look amazing. The pedicure was also great, and the place is very clean. I went ahead and even got my eyebrows waxed. Price was very reasonable and as others have said, Lori makes you feel welcome. Not too thrilled with my past two experiences here. The nail techs get rude with me when i ask them to fix something. Two of my nails are messed up this time nd one is crooked. Meh. This salon is pretty clean and the people are super nice, but their work and the quality of polish used is terrible. The first time I came, I had a shellac mani and a pedicure. The same guy did both. My toes were filed crooked and the shellac peeled after three days of having it on. Not good since I paid $60+. I was NOT a happy camper especially since I got them done for my bridal shower which was out of town so I couldn't come back and have them fixed. I decided to give them a second go around three or so months later. When I get pedi's I have never had the polish chip in less than two weeks time. I got a regular mani/pedi this time. Wouldn't you know it, the next day, the corner of my big toe chipped, and the left index finger also chipped. Again, I wasn't pleased. I will not be giving this place a third chance. I'd advise you save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Verdict is still out on this one. Bring your own reading material and the TV is set to a non-English speaking channel. Wet floor and no place to sit your purse is annoying. Being open on Sunday is a plus and prices are better than my regular place, Starlight Nails. The actual service was pretty good though. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I've been going here for about 3 years and my patience has run out. They used to be really good about seeing everyone, but now they dont care. You will sit there waiting forever. oh and they play favorites. I sat there for over 30 minutes and all I wanted was EYEBROW WAX. 3 people went in front of me getting nail service when eyebrows take like 10 minutes. officially done with them. Great Prices and love that they are open on Sunday's unlike most nail salons! Very friendly staff. I come here to get my eye brows waxed and they do a great job! (And I'm very particular about my eyebrows) Never have had an issue with my nails either although sometimes the wait on a Sunday can be a while. I called this place on a weekend asking if they had immediate availability for a shellac mani bc I was in a time crunch. I was told to come right in for service. I arrived, and they had me pick out my color. I continued to wait, 40 minutes, until she brought me to the chair. I kept thinking, ok I'll wait 5 more minutes, it would take me longer to start over somewhere else, but no. I should have left. She had me soak, and at every opportunity, left my station to help someone else. There was a line in the salon, and people were calling and asking the same thing I did - and everyone she told them to come right in. They just want your money/make you wait! Obviously because she was helping everyone else, she didn't pay much attention to my nails which are gummy/excess gel in the nail bed. She charged the girl before me 35$, and then gave me 5$ "mothers day weekend discount" although I am assuming she just felt bad/hoping that's the case. She was nice, but I wont be back. read more

Top Line is a fantastic place to get your nails done. This salon is huge and I never have to wait more than 10 minutes. Lori, who I believe is the owner, is super sweet and friendly. She always remembers me. I got my gel nail set here and I also get them filled in here as well. I think this nail salon is moderately priced but its definitely worth it. I never feel rushed and my nails last for 3 weeks before I notice any chipping or lifting. There are also many pedicure chairs, so if you want to go with a friend on a whim, no worries about being separated! Definite gold star! read more

I love this nail place. They're fast, the salon is well kept (I cannot stand run-down looking salons, you're there to pamper yourself, you don't want to feel like you're at an unsuccessful rummage sale) and and the staff is friendly. They cost a little bit more than other places I've gone to, but I have never once had a problem with their work. I get gel nails with shellac, never once had a break or chip, only need a fill about every three weeks. Highly recommend. read more

So disappointed!!!! Came in with my family for mani pedis and we are all so unhappy!!! The staff was rude, argued over prices, I only got a pedi so you would think I'd have been the last to get worked on but I was the first. My pedi was rushed and hardly got to enjoy it. I usually feel refreshed and relaxed after but not today!! She did something to my toe and now I'm in pain so I will have to walk on that at work all day. I tried top nails based on the amazing reviews. The nail tech I had was very, very nice but unfortunately during my manicure I had 3 nail cuticles cut and bleeding. The first cut I really didn't mind because accidents happen but then it happened again to the next nail and then the next nail. At the end of the service I then watched the nail tech put the cuticle clippers away in the original pouch, not in any kind of sterilization jar or box nor did she spray them down with any solution. I was surprised she did not even disinfect them, especially after they had been used to cut my cuticles and have been exposed to blood. A very unsettling feeling set in and thought that if she didn't sterilize them with me then she probably didn't sterilize them previously. Also during my pedicure and manicure service the nail tech answered her cell phone a number of times. But that is now the least of my worries... read more

Charged my card double for services and after getting the run around that "only the owner can help you" I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and called my bank to dispute the charges. Pros: helped right away, acrylic not too thick Cons: did not get what I asked for, hurt I walked in and asked for an American. One woman recognized what I was asking for and asked me if I want pink and whites. I told her something similar, but more natural-looking, not so pink. What I received was too pink, too long, and too square. I asked for the corners to be rounded and they are just short of being sharp. I realize that some of this stuff is difficult to communicate, as there are no universal metrics for "pinkness," etc, but during the process, I was never asked how I wanted things. When I noticed that he was cutting them too long, for example, it was too late because the white and pink acrylic was already down; cutting them shorter would have made the white too narrow. I was also burned by the filing gadget twice badly enough that I jerked my hand back (not a big deal, but this has never happened to me elsewhere). When all was said and done, as I was washing my hands, then I was asked how I liked them. I'm bummed that I paid $52 ($45+$7 tip) for nails that are not what I wanted (IMO less attractive than the natural nails I walked in with). That said, they are even and shiny with no major flaws in craftsmanship. They feel sturdy. I feel that I was given an automatic standard service despite what I requested. Judging from other reviews, this might be a good place if you like the standard big, square, obvious "fake" nail look. Not so great otherwise. Side note- 3 kids of the employees were there. This didn't bother me, but if trying to relax, this could be a downer. read more

I got a shellac manicure and they did an okay job. I've had far better & some worse, but not by much. The place was clean & the woman who greeted me was friendly. The man (older man in the 2nd station) who did my manicure did not say a word except to wash my hands & to tell my my total. The color is super cute. The polish is uneven in thickness & my nails don't match in length or shape. I suppose that's partially my fault for not checking before he put the polish on. Some nails still had rough spots on the end that I had to file off so they don't catch on things. My biggest complaint is the fact he got the polish on the cuticles on the sides of my nails which can make them lift off easier. Not impressed. I'd only go back to give someone else at the location a chance. read more

They are very nice and do an okay job. However, they need to be more aware of the importance of sanitizing instruments. I've been going for a number of years and will go when I need a quick service. I had a nail infection and I know it is because they just use the same nail files and don't always use sterilized instruments. I believe I was there after the health inspector was there and it was nice seeing the instruments being cleaned thoroughly. A quick spray with alcohol is not enough. Take an extra few minutes to clean - it goes along way. read more

I have been here several times in the past... Service is going down hill by the month!!! I swore I wouldn't return after my last bad experience, but was in a pickle, and all in all u can get lucky! Here and there! Since I went an hour before they closed they were less than receptive! When I could get a straight answer from someone, and understand it - it was a LIE! I was looking for a shalack color for nails, and a matching color for toes (reg polish) It was like pulling teeth?? The guy finally puts his cell phone to the side, picks a polish and tells me this one this one, I asked 3 x if they had the match for shalack, and he said YES! Suddenly when my pedicure was done drying, and it was time to polish my nails, they didn't have the match... I was very upset, but they could have cared less! They did a rush job on my polish... and OFFICIALLY I will never go there again. I have always gotten the vibe that all they care about is the money.... but I gave them credit,, thinkin isn't that what business do? Meanwhile I they had me leave right after the polish... WOULDN'T stay for me to dry~ and today the polish is chipping :( The most dispicable thing about the entire situation is that they have THE WORST color choices to use for there customers, but sell OPI (which they don't use on there customers) in a variety of pretty colors. I was drawn in by the good reviews an ended up disapointed. After a long work week, I walked in on Saturday to get an acrylic fill-in and polish. I usually go to Tina Nails in Taylor but Top Line is much closer to home. Maybe my guy just didn't feel like working that day because the soccer game was on. When he started, his table had nail tips that he cut off the previous customers nails and there was also nail dust all over the place. Okay well no big deal as long as the nails look good, right? Well every single one of my nails are a different shape, the acrylic is really thick on the bottom of half of them, and he didn't polish them very well at all. I'm really bummed out and I won't not going to go back because I work too hard to spend 20 dollars on nails that I am dissatisfied with. Next time I will just stick with Tina nails and I will definitely pay more attention before I leave (I was already running late as it was). Time to go get the matching nail polish so that I can touch them up myself. At least that is cute. read more
