I have been looking for a nail place for about a year. The place I'd been going to changed hands. I tried the place closest to me and had to wait a lot, couldn't get an appointment when I wanted one, and wasn't really happy with the atmosphere. So I looked at Yelp and found Top Nails in Newberry Commons. This plaza is kind of quiet, especially since the grocery store closed but if you want to find a local gem, go to Top Nails. The facility is beautiful and impeccably clean and organized. It looks like a spa. Everything is new and spotless. The couple who runs the shop are young but incredibly professional. I love that they don't pressure me to talk about myself when I just want to relax. They have hundreds of coordinated sets of traditional polish, gel and dip powder. It makes picking colors so easy. I've gotten dip nails plus a pedicure here twice now and both have been fantastic. They take their time to make sure everything is done well. They have given me a cute little bottle of water while I sat in the pedi chair. I've called and made an appointment both times, for same day services. They are fantastic. read more

I will preface this that 1) I'm Viet 2) I grew up stereotypically in a nail shop so I know when you mess up my stuff 3) I can speak the language fluently so beware I came here and got the spa pedicure and my friend Kim was the one who showed me this place. And what a hidden gem! Why should you visit and trust me on this? I don't get my nails done often by people because I know how to do it/ trust issues and when I do and like a place, it means it's an actual good nail place that I TRUST. American or Vietnamese owned - doesn't matter. I will watch you. My typical repertoire to any nail shop is I come in speaking complete English if it's Viet owner. I Don't let on I can speak let alone know what they're doing procedure wise correctly. I sit and mainly listen and observe the following: - Are your tools sanitized - is your shop clean? - is your bathroom clean? - are you patient and customizing my experience with my feet/ skin type? - do you speak in Vietnamese about your customers or make rude comments? And the answer is NO! They were so polite here! And they passed every question with flying colors! (This is such a big deal to me as someone who understands and who's been called stupid in a Viet place in Harrisburg only to confront owners and workers- will not disclose location) I ended up speaking with them in full Vietnamese and complimenting them on technique and professionalism. This place is freaking clean!!!! And it's a very relaxing environment here. And best of all they really take care of you here and take their time and are gentle with you. They have several different types of spa pedicures and a ton of selection for colors and types of polish. They're family owned by a cute husband and wife and they provided snacks and beverages during our spa. It can't get better than that. Just notes: since they're EXTREMELY new it's only 2 of them and they're working on getting more people in. So PLEASEE. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND CALL IN. Don't come in huffing as a walk in and demanding immediate service if you're in a hurry. They don't have the bandwidth right now but eventually will. Be patient and understanding. If you want fast low quality service - go to the one down the street or somewhere else? 2nd - if you're paying in card, let them know ahead AND TIP INCLUDED in total bill. I felt like such a bad human not knowing this and didn't tip since I had no cash. Thankfully my friend overtipped but I still felt like a effing POS for how awesome of a job they did. 3rd - so as a customer you build points to get a discount! If you pay by card it's like 1 point per dollar I believe and if you pay in cash it's double points and tbh less hassle. Definitely bring cash so you can reach points and get a 10% discount! Overall for the level of service you're getting, at the prices you see, this place is an awesome deal. So much that I might actually have to make the trek now..... read more

This will be my new go to nail salon! I received a gift certificate and decided to try it for a birthday pedicure. I walked in and.. wow! The first thought I had was how gorgeous, shiny and clean it was! This place is immaculate and very modern. I was greeted immediately and asked to sign in. They had SO many color choices for polish, gel and dip. Their menu of services came on this cool board they handed you. They even have hot stone massages available with pedicures, which I plan on getting in the future. I just liked reading the menu, lots of choices! They sat me immediately in a new massage chair and brought me complimentary water right away. They even offered wine. My pedicure was fantastic! She was so polite and kind and literally gave me one of the best foot massages! The chairs are super comfy and I was so relaxed. It has a nice and calming atmosphere. I wouldnt even give them one star. I came in for very short acrylic nails. I showed the guy the design I wanted. He ignored it and painted them a complete different color. He did not do my cuticles or prep my nail. Just slapped tips and extremely thick lumpy acrylic down. He sanded the side of my nail (the actual skin!) So bad that I have a burn there. Each nail is a different shape and length. I've been getting my nails done for 10 years and never had an experience so bad before coming to Top Nails. read more

I dropped in on a Friday evening and waited about 30 minutes for a fill-in, but the wait was really worth it. Kenny noticed that my nails had the beginnings of a fugal infection due to bad fill-ins at another salon. What started as a routine fill-in ended in Kenny removing and cleaning my nails. He then applied acrylic to my real nails. I was so lucky to have stopped in that evening. My nails could have gotten so much worse if Kenny didn't catch the issue. I am very grateful. read more

I've been getting my nails done for well over 20yrs. Top Nails by far was my best experience. The salon is super clean. They've been opened for a few yrs. They clearly have high standards for keeping the salon clean. It was such a relaxing time. Personally I hate getting my nails done. Not now...I'm obsessed with top nails...They offered me a bottled water and a bag of cheese curls during my pedicure. Dan was my nail tech. He took his time doing both my pedicure and nails. My appt took the appropriate amount of time. He was gentle but not in the annoying way. I highly recommend this nail salon. I also recommend that you make an appointment.
