I wish I would've read the reviews before coming here. I am new here so I was looking for a new nail place however this will never view it. The guy cut my finger multiple times with the file I was bleeding and he told me he didn't have a Band-Aid. Didn't even apologize four cutting me when he noticed it.on top of that he was not very friendly and my nails look awful. My boyfriend told me I should go back and ask them to fix it but I do not want them touching my nails ever again.

I just got a fantastic pedicure. The lady was so thorough. Very happy with Top Nails. It wasn't much to look at from the outside, but I am here for the service. They don't have a tv blaring, which I think is great. It's quite relaxing to not have the noise. I will come back next time when in Halifax and I have time!

Terrible experience. Will not be back. The man who did my nails was sloppy, rough, and rushed the job. Would not recommend.

Stay far, far away!! I chose this nearby nail salon because I just moved to town and haven't found a new salon yet. When I arrived, they sat me immediately to place my nails in a bowl of remover to dissolve the SNS (I'm used to salons wrapping each nail in foil to remove SNS). As I sat there and began to look around, I started having doubts about choosing this salon. Everything was FILTHY! The station they sat me at was right beside a filthy fish tank that you couldn't even see the fish in because the water was brown, and there was a putrid smell in this area as well. The stations are not wiped down and surely not sanitized, there was still dust and bits of nails all over the desk. When the male technician finally got to me, he kept stopping to FaceTime people. He was extremely rough with the file and kept filing my actual skin. I jerked my hands back a few times because he was so rough. There was absolutely no regard for the comfort (and obviously safety) of their customers. I have several cuts on my cuticles and left almost in tears. As he was finishing up, the female technician on the other desk got into a screaming match with a customer about whether to use gel or acrylic. They both got up from that station and brought the screaming match over to our station and were standing over top of me yelling at each other. I was so anxious and just wanted to leave. I would never step foot in this place again and urge anyone else to check out these things before getting started. I left here and went home immediately to soak my hands in peroxide in hopes that all these cuts won't become infected. NEVER AGAIN!

I had a great experience here. The staff was attentive and did a really good job with my pedicure and set of gel nails. The only complaint I have is that I wish it was more sanitary at the stations for manicures. There was nail dust on the counter and it just didn't look the cleanest.

Hopefully I won't gain an ingrown toenail from this.

Visited today for the first time. Rose did a fabulous job on my nails and was very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

I arrived at the studio and I filled out all of the paperwork and then Karissa started tattooing me. We had great conversation but when she started tattooing me that's when I got nervous. I have a lot of tattoos and some smaller and I haven't had any get done this quickly. During the tattooing process everything was fine but after she was done and was putting on my saniderm she didn't wear gloves, which is extremely unsanitary. The next few days after getting my tattoo I noticed that most of the ink had fallen out and it was flaking off. I was taking very good care of it and moisturizing it. Now, a week later I can see that the letters aren't filled in and that blowout is already starting in some places. It is also raised from the skin a lot, which has never happened with any of my other tattoos. I know it was a long day and I am trying to be sympathetic but a professional should know when to end the day in order to still have nice looking work. I was already prepared to go the next day. I really regret getting this tattoo and wasting $80 on it.

This is an interesting shop. There are not "Poster" displays along the walls to choose designs…read morefrom like many of the parlors in and around "the big city," although there are several catalogs and binders with artwork in them if one doesn't mind taking their time to browse through them all. The proprietor would seem to be a Marilyn Monroe fan as there are MM posters about the lobby area. I went in looking for a coverup over a 20 yr old tat with my ex wife's name written across my arm. DJ did a fine job of pointing me in the direction of some art that would stand out and make the old faded rose look secondary to the new tat. Now, DJ is somewhat young and only has a couple years of experience under his belt, but he did a terrific job on the coverup, the fill in, touching up the old tat and hi-lighting the whole thing. So why only 3 stars? some reasons: -Walking in, one doesn't get the comfort level of seeing a clean shop. The couch is covered with a sheet, the block wall doesn't provide any aesthetic comfort and the once "cream colored" air conditioners are blackened and in need of deep cleaning. -There's a "No Smoking" sign very visible in the shop, however, guests appear to not care and light up anyway. As an ex smoker, I actually get physically sick to my stomach around cigarette smoke. -I was concerned about sterility here. DJ was the only person working and the phone kept ringing, people continued to come in looking for body hardware and the like, so while his hands were gloved, he kept touching other objects around the area and then going back to work without changing his gloves after answering the phone, handling merchandise and so on. Let me put it this way, the phone was constant with incoming calls and there was nobody else there to take them. Does that mean I'm going to get sick? It's unlikely, but possible. I'm just making sure I take good care of the area that got tattooed. Does it mean I won't be back? Truth be told, I like DJ's work. I just didn't care for the conditions in the place, so I don't know if I'll be back. It's possible, but I might be swayed to check other shops out between Wake Forest, Durham or Raleigh before going back to this shop.
