On 8/2020 Had my van smog and passed at another star certified location, apparently I received a letter from the DMV that the location I went to is not star certified ( that location is star certified) yeah ! If not they would not be able to smog my car to have a passing certificate. Fast forward to today 2/2021 Called around and spoke with Arturo at Top Smog . He is star certified and he explained to me what his theory might be as to why I was denied from the DMV with my previous smog location. He thinks because the certificate has expired ( passing a smog certificate is only good for you 90 days ) his guess is due to that . ( damn COVID is going to cost me more money to smog my car again) I believe the paper work was delayed by the DMV and here I am at this location getting my car smog once more . So far this gentleman had been professional and great at explaining to me his theory and thank you for doing the smog in my car. I do appreciate they offer me a discount if I paid cash. read more

Why 5 Stars you ask? Because when you have to do something, just because it's time to, i.e., smog checks & getting new tags (so you're already spending your hard-earned cash). The tech, could be understanding & this guy was. I called ahead of time so he'd get me in & out during my lunch hour. Total time including drive time was under 45 minutes. I went to renew my car registration online and saw that I needed a smog check last minute. Top Smog was only a few minutes from my house so I decided to check them out. I'm definitely glad I went here. I was in and out in under 20 minutes, and only because someone had gotten there just before me. I'm not sure of the guy's name that helped me, but he was extremely polite, kind, and helpful. I had no problem registering my car after getting the smog check as they automatically scanned the smog test into the system. This is a great locally-owned business. Arturo wants locals to make his place their go-to smog check location. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes, and the price was right as well. He has an air conditioned waiting room for customers to use while he does his thing on your vehicle. Arturo is friendly and welcoming, unlike that last place I went to back in 2014. (but they've since gone out of business) Anyway, I've found my go-to Fontana smog testing location, and I couldn't be more satisfied. This is a STAR certified testing location, one of only two I could find in Fontana. read more
