To the 2 that gave bad reviews, The guy was very honest and truthful with me! You might have heard wrong or had it in your head that they are trying to rip you off, cause this man explained everything to me and told me what he can do to pass my smog but what I needed to do was follow his instructions, which I did and it passed. They did not try to test my car and just pass for the money, they helped me get it to pass. So to ALL, These guys are awesome and upfront with you. I took my car in for a smog and because my engine light was on, the guy, who I believe is the owner, told me what would happen if he did my smog like that, which other locations would not have said anything. The owner explained everything to me and helped me get my smog done the right way. They did not try to take my money knowing it wouldn't have passed and being a woman, most men or other locations would have took advantage of that and took my money. I followed the man's simple advice and got my smog done quick. They are awesome!!! My girls and I also got to sit in the office and watch TV while it was being done. Very nice office. read more

Great Service, the owner is really friendly and helpful with getting you the info you need to get your car passed. Here is my full story and how I went to Mr. Smog. Had a problem with my check engine light found out that I needed a catalytic converter, I had the converter changed and the mechanic told me to drive my car for around 50 miles. I drove that night and put on about 65 miles. Next day I took it to another smog check told them the story and how far I had driven. They ran the smog test it passed everything but failed because the "OBD II" reading said it was not it was "not ready". I found out by searching online that miles do not matter but driving conditions and load on the system that determines if the converter is ready. I drove the car some more that night and put on another 65 miles. Next day I called and spoke to the owner at Mr. Smog explained what happened and what it failed for, he told me to bring the car down and he would check the codes for free to determine if the on board diagnostics had finished. Codes came back that it was ready for testing it was and passed. read more

Chuy was very friendly, professional, helpful and had excellent customer service. I called during my lunch and asked if I needed an appointment he advised me it would be ok just to walk in. I advised him that I was working overtime until 5:30pm and that I noticed he closes at 6:00pm, he advised me that if I want he can wait for me but to assure him I will go right after work so that he can wait for me. I called right after work as instructed and he answer the phone immediately and said he will be waiting. When I showed up he right away got to work on my car and I was literally in and out of there in no time. There are few times in life where you find a smog check business so expertly managed and practiced that it makes for a pleasant and stress-free experience, this is one of those places. Mr. Smog check came well recommended by a couple close friends, so I decided to give it a try. I pulled up parked and walked in to the front office, it was well lit, clean, smelled nice the aesthetics of the room were very personable and best of all it was air conditioned. Chuy(the owner) was courteous and friendly. He asked how he could be of crevice, I said i only needed a smog check and he did not delay. He enquired about how I found my car(as very few were made). All this took place in about 15 minutes. He seemed honest and respectful I would recommend him to anyone. I will be visiting again. read more

I needed to get some new tags, so I went to AAA and they told me I needed a smog check before I could get them. I called around to different smog check places and while they were offering to do my car ('08 Yaris) for around $60, Mr. Smog Check did mine for $45 because I have such a small car. The price was reasonable and it was very, very fast. When I called in, he told me it'd be about ten minutes. I didn't believe it 100% because prior smog checks have taken at least 20-40 minutes. I made a same-day appointment, regardless, because the price was fantastic. When I showed up, I barely sat down for no more than 7 minutes and I had the keys back in my hands ready to go! I was surprised and impressed. I love Mr. Smog Check and I am SO GOING THERE AGAIN! read more

Other reviewers are spot on about the speed, efficiency, and cost of this shop. Chuy actually saved me more than a couple of dollars for service. My Check Engine light was on when my required smog check was due. TWO separate Honda dealerships said my catalytic converter had gone bad, and because there was a CA-only converter that is only provided by dealers, I was given quotes of $1,750 parts and $300 labor. My first test with Chuy failed, but he said the gas cap gasket had cracks, which could lead to test failure. I bought a new gas cap ($50 !!!), and the very next day my car passed the test. Had to pay a (reduced) cost for a second test, but under the circumstances this way a much better outcome for me. Patronize this guy! read more

Mr. Smog Check was the fastest, most convenient, and most professional I have ever dealt with. The pricing was more than reasonable, the owner performed the check himself, in a rapid and courteous manner. I was treated very well, asked if I would like to watch the TV, offered water from the cooler, and genuinely respected as a customer. When he finished, I was given the paperwork in a clean folder, told that the DMV was already electronically notified, and he explained that the ABS light would be on until I put the car into gear and that was normal. I would recommend Mr. Smog Check in Rancho Cucamonga to all people needing a smog check for the DMV. There are a lot of competitors around his shop, but he is absolutely the best. read more

Excellent service! Came in and had just fixed my car because the check engine light was on. Wasn't allowed to perform smog check because I didn't dive enough miles for the computer to reboot. Chuy advised me the book suggest to drive 50-100 miles for the computer to reboot and then come back in and see him. Did so and the man even gave me a great deal. Might I add one of the only smog check places that stays open until 6 Monday through Friday .....+. Thank you for the wonderful service, the wife and I will be back next week for her car now. Went to this place after checking out Yelp reviews for a place close to me. This place is the place to go for a smog check! Chuy did my test and was very knowledgeable about both the smog check process and cars in general. I had a little of a wait, but was out within an hour and he even took the time to show me why my car took a little longer than normal(a manufacturer problem) nothing to do with Chuy or myself. I took the coupon that is on their website and the test and certificate came to $45.00!! I'll be going there from now on! P.S. they also have free 5g Wifi! read more

This place is fantastic. I needed to have my car smogged and registered before selling it to a dealership. This of course was on Friday around 6pm, every place was closed! My last call was to Mr. Smog Check (Chuey) who told me he was closing, but if I made it there in 10 minutes he would help me out. I made it there in about 15, and he was still waiting for me. Now that is awesome. He is a great and honest. He wouldn't even accept an extra 10 bucks for staying open late for me. I've found my new smog place! read more

I recommend coming here if you need a smog. It was my first time coming to this place after calling a ton of different shops. It happen to be memorial day when I needed to get a smog check done. When I finally found this place Chuy answered and said yes I'll help you even though it was his day off. When I got to the shop he greeted me with a smile and was very friendly. I went in today and there was only one customer was ahead of me. They took my paperwork, took care of my smog check, and I was in and out very quick. The gentleman there explained my paperwork to me since I was quite clueless, which was an extreme help. Overall it was an effortless experience for me and the waiting room was nice and air conditioned. I'm planning on going here for the next smog check I need to make.
