This store has now relocated to the Watergardens. I am sure that is the only River Island in Harlow…read morethat i know of. River Island in the Watergardens is a large store that houses mens and womens fashion, shoes and accesories. The clothing is fairly good value and the staff are helpful. They never seem to have many shoes in stock though, I don't think they have ever had my size when I have asked for them. For shoes I generally have to order them on the river island website as the store cannot order them in for you. They do offer to ring around local stores to see if they have the size that you want though.

This large, one floor open plan store has clothing for everyone at low low prices. It is very easy to get in and out of the store as it has entrances/exits at both ends of the store. If you have mobility problems, use a wheelchair or have a buggy I would suggest that again, aiming for a weekday will make things easier as by Saturday afternoon it looks like a clothing bomb has gone off and you will end up with wheels/crutches tangled in clothes somebody decided should go on the floor instead of the shelves.

For those looking for formal wear for proms or weddings, this store usually has a specific rail full of dresses for these occasions at a lower price than regular stores. There is a lift for access between the two floors or stairs. Everything in the store seems messy though and chaotic and almost like a jumble sale, there is no logic to where anything is and all the sizes are alway messed up so you have to spend ages rummaging through racks of clothes to find what you want. You can grab a bargain if you have time to hunt around. Also you can generally park right outside.

The shop has a very well-rendered interior with a good selection of jeans, sweaters, jumpers, socks, underwear and t-shirts. Staff are helpful and the music is good - both very important! Prices are pretty high, but when I am looking to splash out on something smart, Hub is generally in my shortlist of places to find something both lasting and different.
This is the only menswear shop on Church Street which automatically makes it the best (and the…read moreworst by the same logic). But I'll go with the former. It sells a good variety of clothes with YMC, Acne, Barbour, Folk and Fred Perry appearing quite frequently, all on the expensive side. It's well laid out to maximise what they display and they seem to stock every item of clothing you need, the only exception I can think off is pants/boxers. It also has a great selection of bags and shoes, a lot more than other shops which always lets them down for me, as it's what I tend to go for first. If you live around Stoke Newington, you have to be aware that if you buy something from here, you are quite likely to see a few other people wearing it, but that's fine as all the designs are quite subtle. No complaints about the staff and they seem to know their customers well.

This store carries what looked like all of the latest Amy Winehouse collection, but I didn't purchase anything from that range. I have never had a problem myself with the store being too crowded. The staff seem to be very friendly and the whole layout of the store is very welcoming, so I check it out every now and again, even though it is not one of my favourite stores.

It is relatively cheap and…read moreso are the clothes, but if you rummage hard enough you will definitely be able to find something worth your while. Best in store is the extensive and very affordable selection of shoes. If you need some urgent party shoes, this will always be a good place to venture. Annoyingly enough however, for some silly reason New Look has decided that fluorescent, neon green is the way to go for the colour of their shoe shelving units which is really just blinding and makes it harder to properly choose a pair of shoes. It also occasionally collaborates with British designers such as Giles Deacon which can be quite exciting. This particular New Look is a huge store, located on 3 floors. It is located in a rather strange area, namely in the middle of the City, right next to the financial centre of London, but I guess even City women enjoy a bit of cheap shopping once in a while! So if you are ever in the area, pop in and have look, but don't forget some sunnies to protect yourself from the outrageous neon green.
