Had been planning to get to this place for ages with my girlfriend, and we finally got our act together and made our way down for a naughty unhealthy dinner and find a nice spot to enjoy it. I have to say I don't think I've had a better fish 'n' chips experience outside an actual restaurant than we did here. The fish was fresh, and the batter not stodgy and heavy, nice and light, and the healthy dose of chips made for a pant-stretchingly good meal. Definitely glad we decided to try it, and will be back again for sure.

Just the perfect amount of batter added to your fresh out of the ocean fish fillets before being deep fried or grilled to your perfection. I adore their delicious pub style chips. They've done a great job painting the building blue with some choice fish and sea creatures floating around so A for effort on presentation. I suppose the mark of a good takeaway shop is gauged by the volume of its patrons and it always seemed busy so I'd say Codfather is doing alright.

Al & Petes has always been a personal favourite for its takeaway Toasted Sandwiches. In particular the Steak and Cheese toasted is 'to die for!' Now in this day and age eating takeaways is no longer as fashionable as it once was. That said it will be a very long and chilly day in hell before anyone can convince me that eating an Al and Petes toasted sandwich is bad for you. Just look at the posted pic and ask yourself... Tartar sauce packs were 50¢ each but malt vinegar was readily available on the table. Everything was piping hot when it came out.
