Pool is full of moss and green. The chairs are withered and also disgusting

When I moved in the place was disgusting. There are random stains everywhere and the person before me pretty much didn't clean anything. While the staff has been friendly to me, the facilities (like the pool) aren't maintained at all and actually look like a health hazard.

The ceiling consistently reopens and water falls down. Wish I could post videos of the water coming down during a shower

Update: we have been here since AUGUST and it is now MARCH. They have NOT fixed any problems. In fact, everything has gotten WORSE. We have had TWO unusable showers in a 4 b 4 b home. No one can use them because the pipes are still busted, and have been since the day we moved in. At this point, we are highly concerned for our safety and they clearly are not. I am outraged and so beyond frustrated. I've sent emails, contacted multiple managers, spoken to maintenance over 10 times. I am so upset that these are my living conditions for the most ridiculous price! We pay too much to be treated like this! Absolutely disturbing. Also, we did not receive the benefits that they promised such as the pool (it's been green for months), a front gate (they put it down for one month and never bothered to do it again after that month), and WORKING house keys! My brother has gone without a key the ENTIRE time we have been here. Recently, mine has stopped working as well. They gave us new ones and they still don't work! They started discussing about taking the whole door out instead. It is a circus over here.

Starting with the good: tha location is good enough for someone without a car, the publix is a 5…read moreminute walk and Aldi is a 10 minute walk. The FSU bus stop is also a 7 minute walk. There is a Walgreens, nearby, the gym on redpoint is good, the swimming pool is nice. I did not have issues with pests other than in the beggining of the summer during a couple of days termites would invade the house but they left some days later. It is mostly silent. Since they are townhouses you do not struggle as much with being crowded with other apartments. The West Tennessee St. can be loud sometimes specially if your room faces that side but nothing insane unless you are an increbly light sleeper. The maintenance team is awesome, they will fix anything no problem ever. On the bad: Why is the garbage disposal so far away? there is one (1) garbage disposal in the whole community and I had to carry my trash bags all the way over there each time. If you move here you will see people with cars put the bags on top of their cars but I had to do it by hand. The people at the office are absolutely incompetent, they are children who dont know what they are doing. They love charging you stuff on your lease that you cant get rid off and they will do nothing to help you, they charge you for not having renters insurance, I sent them my insurance but they outsource the checking, to some other company who responded that my insurance did not comply with their requirements, I told them it did, but neither this third party nor red point helped. I tried a second time hoping this time they will notice my insurance complied but the same thing happened, again they did nothing. So I was stuck paying their fee for "not having insurance" and the insurance. I never felt unsafe, but in the year I lived there, there were at least 3 car break-ins. Now this is not unique to redpoint, I think you will struggle to find any place in tallahassee with open parking that does not have break-ins. I did not have to worry since I do not have a car but it is something to consider, this is not a gated community. Finally, the house was fine, they do not keep them in perfect condition but they are ok. like the tables are scratched. and there are paint drops around from their many paint jobs they give after every moveout but for a college house it is pretty nice.

So $150 for, get this: 2 candles, a coaster set, dish soap, paper towel roll and an Adirondack chair. This apartment complex Nickle and dines you for everything. To add to it, when he moved in, there was actually dried dog crap on his carpet that they did not ensure was cleaned up previously. Stay away FSU unless if you want to continue to pay well after you move out!

Work orders don't get done because she clears them. The pool is closed because they can't be bothered with upkeep. I have put in countless maintenance requests, and the maintenance team has only fixed a couple, been a no-show for most, and given me the run-around for the major requests. The apartment was NOT move in ready at all. The floors were filled with black dirt (that i had to mop 7x to get clean.) The air filter was not even changed, and the AC compartment was filled with black scum and dust. The kitchen sink was leaking, the front door lock was broken, the washer machine turns off mid-cycle, the bathroom shower drain was clogged, and even down to the toilet paper holder not being attached to the wall. I could not even buy groceries for the first couple weeks due to the fridge seal not being in tact and the door not closing- letting the cold air out. That request took 2.5 weeks, several office visits, and a call to the manager, and it still has not properly been replaced (just temporarily put together). The most recent problem has been a flood in the bathroom on Sept 17th. During a rainstorm the bathroom vent was POURING out water. We made a call to the emergency maintenance which was ignored. With persistent calls, they finally answered and completely blew off the leak/bathroom flood. Since then, the vent has almost caught on fire. I left it on during a shower, and it smoked up the bathroom and smelled like burning plastic. Overall, I have been severely disappointed with this place. I have only been here for 3 weeks, and it has been more problematic than anything. Hardly anything has been addressed, and this place was guaranteed to be MOVE IN READY. Maintenance only gives excuses, and the office girls, while very polite, do not escalate issues properly. Management is never in the office either. If you are willing to have to drop your job/school/daily life to fix your apartments problems or fight to have ANYTHING done, then this is the place for you! Otherwise do not move here :) I am not normally a Karen at all, so leaving this review is proof that living here for these 3 weeks has been a struggle.

The apartments are old, yes, but they are working on renovating each of them so they feel good and have everything you need. The outside looks clean and safe, there is always enough parking, and the office staff and maintenance guys are so nice and happy to help out. If I had three wishes it would be that there was recycling available to tenets, the pool area was a little more private with bushes or something, and that there was a safe place to lock your bikes. But all in all I really love living here!

First problem: a huge crack in a bedroom window (about 1.5 feet long), which took them about a month to finally replace. Second problem: the oven overheated and completely charred food. I am a very competent cook and this isn't a human error issue. It was also a fire hazard. My husband burnt his hand by just touching the outside of the oven door. Maintenance said that "When the oven's turned on, it's like the heat keeps going up". The oven was finally replaced after I lived at charter oaks for about 2 months. Problem three: the dishwasher did not work. I first noticed a problem when my kitchen flooded due to leaks in the dishwasher. Finally, a replacement came after we had been living at Chartre Oaks for 6 weeks. Problem four: Something is wrong with the pipes in the bathroom. We've been noticing a little bit of water on the bathroom floor for the past couple of weeks, but recently, water started spewing out of the tub drain and the bottom of the toilet at the same time. So now, we have to worry about a contaminated bathroom. The sink leaks constantly as well. Maintenance came to look at it, said it was someone upstairs that clogged the pipes, and told us to just "keep an eye on it". Problem five: Our freezer does not freeze. Maintenance has been out, but the problem has not been fixed. All of my frozen foods are in the front office's freezer because mine has not worked for the past three weeks. Problem six: for the majority of the time that I have lived here, the pool has been overfull and cloudy. And finally, the worst problem of all: I should begin by explaining that I am an artist, and I was keeping several drawings in portfolios in the smaller of our two bedroom apartment. Because charter oaks decided to cut corners and put a "temporary fix" on a leaky room (this according to maintenance), several of my pieces of art were water-damaged when we had a big rain. Not to mention the carpet was soaked. By my estimate, $4350 worth of artwork was damaged and ruined. Last I heard from the office, they said they were "getting quotes from professional roofers". I have had to call the police twice since I've lived here (a total of 2 months) because of noise and insanely ranting residents. I have seen police here a total of four times already. I do not feel safe here.
