Recently called wanting to place an order for tables and chairs. The customer service representative "Katrina" was very rude and disrespectful. Mocking me over the phone cause i couldn't hear her. We were having a small gathering for a bridal shower and we rented 3 tables and 12 chairs (10 padded and 2 unpadded because that is all that was available). The padded chairs cost twice as much as the unpadded, but we were okay with that. Booking the equipment was very easy, and the company confirmed our order and a few days before the event we were sent an email on how to pick up the equipment. (We opted to pick up ourselves). Before pickup I received a voicemail letting me know that the chairs would all be padded because of an error on their side, but we were fine with that change. Upon pickup, we were surprised that there were no padded chairs available and only 2 tables and a child's table. We tried contacting Katrina but with no answer, so we took the unpadded chairs and three tables. We were able to make what we had work, but I was disappointed with the outcome especially at the 11th hour. We never heard back from the company for direction as to what to do despite calling and leaving a message. I did follow up with the company a few days after the event and let them know what happened. They offered a refund for the difference of the chairs, but the communication was lacking. The follow up was all on our side even to check on a refund. Unfortunately, I do not recommend Torkay, and I will not use them again. read more

Cameron and his team did an awesome job DJing at our wedding ceremony and reception. My husband has a really high bar when it comes to music selection, (his utilization of Torkay Event Services online song preference selection bordered on abusive), and Cameron went above and beyond expectation. He was friendly, organized, and helpful. We met with him twice before the wedding- once to hire and again to finalize our selections- and both times we left feeling very assured that he had listened to our requests and would take care of everything. Things we especially appreciated about Cameron: - He stuck to our song list (though I'm also confident that had we given him only a few recommendations, he would have filled the rest with great music) - The sound came through great for both the ceremony and reception, with no technical difficulties - His experience and knowledge really helped us during the planning process - He was a total professional and took care of everything on the day of (so we didn't have to worry!) We contracted with Torkay Events for a summer pool party. Cameron provided several suggestions on what we could do to support our themed Jimmey Buffet Margaritaville party, including tables and lights in our pool among other things. I would not even have considered that, but it turned out awesome! Cameron and his crew showed up early and had everything ready well before our guests arrived, and showed up the next day early to take away the rentals. I have found them extremely responsiveness, helpful, and work hard to cater to our needs. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! read more

Scheduled with them a month before bridal shower for 4 tables and 30 chairs. They were great at matching a price from another company as my daughter wanted to go with this one. I confirmed the date and time of deliver and that they would set up the tables and chairs before the event and that when picked up that evening they would take down the tables and chairs as well. The day before the event my daughter called me saying they were delivering everything to the house and no one was there. I called and talked to She' and she worked very hard to fix the situation as I was looking at my invoice and messages that said the date and time clearly and that they were supposed to set up as well. Joseph delivered the next morning, went the extra mile in moving my daughter's sofa for her to create more space, set up the tables, chairs and put the table covers on for her. GREAT service! The event was over and we determined the day before that pick up would be the next day because they said to do same day pick up would be another $125 fee which was never discussed. My husband came and broke down all the tables and chairs and put them in her garage for the evening. I called after 8 the next morning as our invoice said pick up sunday at 8 am.....was told we don't do exact times it will be between 8 -1, it is a window....I said in our conversation a few days ago I was clear my daughter would not be home from 11-1 she said oh it says pick up between 11 - 1 .....really? She said let me see what I can do. Of course nothing was picked up and her father had to go and move all the items from the garage to the side of the house for pick up the next day, which didn't happen after I had communicated her father went all the way back to her house to move the items outside at their request. Our event was Saturday and finally Tuesday they picked up the items. We are waiting to see if she will get a letter from her HOA for the items being out and will make sure to forward that bill to Torkay. Communication was dreadful, She' and Joseph were excellent,. If ou do not do specific times then you should not print them on the invoice. Will not use or recommend. They sent the survey to us before they even picked up their items. I waited two days before filling it out because had I done it immediately it would have been one star I was so frustrated. read more

The Torkays are amazing!! My husband & I got married 2 1/2 years ago & they were our DJ & day of event coordinators. They let everyone know where they needed to be & at what time & made sure everything ran smoothly. And it did! Until it rained, which was out of their hands, but I know if they had power over that they would have fixed it! The music was so great, people were dancing all night long to Cameron's mixes.
