Torn Light Records in Bucktown is a truly impressive record store that stands out for its unique and eclectic selection. From the moment you step in, it's clear this is more than just a typical record shop. The store offers an incredible range of music, but what really caught my attention was the multicultural section. It's one of the most diverse I've seen, with a particularly impressive collection of music from India, which I personally really loved. Torn Light Records also has some fantastic finds for under $5, which was a pleasant surprise. I could easily spend hours digging through their collection, knowing there's something great waiting to be discovered. Beyond the scope of their inventory, Torn Light Records creates an atmosphere that's welcoming and perfect for digging through vinyl. The staff is passionate, knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help with recommendations or insights, which only makes the experience that much better. Whether you're hunting for rare finds or just browsing for something new, Torn Light Records in Bucktown is a must-visit for music lovers of all kinds.

My boyfriend and I love crate digging on Saturdays! We looked on Yelp for Record Stores we haven't hit in the Cincinnati area and found Torn Light on the list. This hidden gem is located close to Dark Horse Brewing in Bellevue (near Washington Ave). Every record shop is different and has something great to offer. This store is one of them. I was amazed with the selection of used records on site. They don't carry newly pressed Vinyls, but a great amount of rarities. The shelves are organized and fairly priced. What I love the most in hunting for vinyls is this place is very detailed in categorizing. From Bossa Nova Jazz, European, Pacific Islander, Funk/R&B, Disco, Hard Metal, etc. They have a small section for new releases on freshly stocked vinyl if you are a regular. And last, they have a great selection of old school hip hop. Definitely singles. I was impressed with the $1.00 bins that I scored an amount of Jazz/Easy listening! In the back you will find a listening station, used record/speaker equipment, used 45', cassettes and Cds. The employee working the shift at that time was very friendly and helpful! Small store with a lot of awesome finds!!! What a great experience and look forward to coming back!!

Hidden gem, particularly for vinyl lovers. A cool place to browse before dinner or a show.

The Exchange is the perfect place to find new/used video games, movies, cds, toys, consoles and more! Everything is organized in sections by type of game or appropriate genre of music or type of movie. It may seem overwhelming at first, but it's almost like a library of all things cool. The staff is super helpful. When you want something, you'll need to ask them for help as everything is behind glass and locked so you don't steal- good call on their part. Prices are reasonable for the most part. Some things like vintage games can be a little pricey but it makes sense. I bought about 6 or 7 old video games from NES Super NES and Sega for $38. I think I did well. They now have a rewards program that's free to sign up for so take advantage of that. I love this place whether I'm in Pittsburgh or Chicago. Definitely will make a trip or two every time I'm here.

Again, everything about this store, simply not worth it, if this were a candle store I'd probably never walk back in and this has games. - lack of games - overpriced games - forgetful staff - not useful policies - (Broken games) - jaded staff - theft of discounts and useless membership(literally just giving them extra credit for their stocks and prices, which they will take from you regardless of whether you're a member or not) - (Overpricing for taxes) - The games The scammy, scummy and their games suck, the only reason I'd go back is if their consoles are cheaper than the ones online. They have 200$ games and half a thousand dollar consoles, I rest my case.

I forget her name but there was a woman working who was super welcoming. The last time I came here, I wasn't greeted by anyone and then was too afraid to ask about how to get into the museum, so I just left lol. It's located in the back of their record store behind a curtain, and it can feel confusing on how to access it or if it's even accessible to the public. Most people probably won't even know there is a museum/if they are allowed in unless they ask. I think it costs $15 for Chicago residents and $20 for non-residents. They have an amazing collection of stuff so I think it's worth it to support them. If you take the time to read and look at everything, it could take up to an hour, but at least 20 minutes if you just skim through. There's also a free pinball machines in the basement for when you are finished with the museum and need something to refresh your mind, but we had to leave to get to the restaurant we were going to. Unfortunately we also didn't get to listen in on the man giving a more in-depth talking tour, but I enjoyed just doing a self-guided tour and looking at everything on my own. There's so much information written for each thing. I would love to come back and really read everything since I didn't really get to this time!
