Large special pho comes in a large bowl with little noodles, little meat but lots of bean sprouts and soup. Came here to try the pho and bun Bo hue I really love the noodles here for the pho. It has a nice chew to it and their soup is pretty favourful. The Bun Bo Hue is good here too but tasted a bit spicier than most places. Beware if you have low spice tolerance. We tried the Va va viet which is a viet ice coffee in slush format. This is a review for delivery A deep-fried spring roll ($5.75 for two) goes with pho like cookies with milk. Sadly, Toronto Pho's roll incorporates way too much taro, turning the filling into a crumbly bland mush. It didn't help that the salt was non-existent, so all the flavours came from the sweet thin dipping sauce. Seriously, the frozen ones from the supermarket are better. I'd go with the grilled rolls instead, our chicken version ($6.95 for two) was absolutely delicious, a bundle of vermicelli with bean sprouts and mint leaves, wrapped in lettuce, and then layered with grilled chicken and wrapped in a chewy rice sheet. The double roll helped keep the noodles soft while adding an extra crunch after getting through the soft rice wrapper. Meanwhile, the marinated grilled chicken had enough flavour but was further augmented by the savoury peanut sauce on the side. The starters helped keep me satisfied while I heated up the broth in a pot and zapped the noodles in the microwave. Taking the five minutes to do this really helps enhance the experience. After all, I'm craving a steaming hot bowl of noodles... not lukewarm broth with clumped pho. Toronto Pho's broth packs a strong punch of spices (star anise and cinnamon?) and is seasoned well without becoming overwhelming. While Pho is never overly heavy, Toronto Pho's soup feels extra "clear", almost like a consommé than bone broth. It's delicious, just not necessarily hearty. The noodles remained chewy having been separated from the soup and there were plenty of toppings included with the bowl - the typical bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lime, but also a long leafy lettuce type vegetable and onions as well. Yum! I love the mix of herbs with pho. They also didn't skimp on the beef, there was plenty of it and soft tendon ($12.50) in my bowl. My only complaint was there was a thick end slice of the meat left with everything. Have you ever tried chewing through a cheap cut of lean beef that's been sitting in transit for a while? Thank god I have the jaws of life. I do have to give credit to Toronto Pho for using paper containers for their noodles and broth (sadly not the rolls, which is strange as there are plenty of small paper box options) and helping the environment. read more

This week, I finally got to go visit toronto pho restaurant ! I'd been seeing them all over Instagram this past summer, and with how cold it was this weekend, I knew my opportunity had arrived! This restaurant definitely gave off family owned, hole in the wall vibes, which meant that I was in for a sure treat! Pho lunch @torontophorestaurant Giving a shout out to the PHO lovers out there. I discovered this place with all the cool posts they had and I came out to try the hype. Loved the murals and art work which gave the place a cool vibe. Customer service was excellent. I got quickly seated and given some recommendations. Pretty good pho! Was in the area and really wanted pho so took a chance here. It's located in a sketchy ish plaza but the food was great! Tasted exactly as I imagined. The pork with the vermicelli was really tender and tasty, not dry at all. Pho soup was nice and hot but after I left I realized they forgot to put tripe in my house special pho! The pho came with a large side of sprouts, basil and lime as well as extra cilantro. She read my mind! I actually wanted extra cilantro but forgot to ask. I guess they just always give extra cilantro here. The pho with the sides come on a tray with everything neatly arranged. Our table was a bit dirty/sticky and the prices are a bit more $$$ (1 regular pho + vermicelli w/pork came to $30) but I will still come back if I'm in the area as the food was good! read more

I recently visited Toronto Pho and it was an amazing experience! Not only for their awesome service, but for the food! Of course whenever I have pho, I always get the House Special Pho which has all the choices of meat you would find: Rare Beef, Flank, Beef Ball, Tendon and Tripe! Their broth is simply scrumptious with an amazing depth of flavour to go alongside their generous amounts of noodles and beef. It is definitely worth the price for a large bowl! The other cool thing is that your bowl of pho comes in a tray with your side of bean sprouts, mint, chili pepper and lime with a built in tray for your sauces! Pretty nifty if you ask me! I really love this spot. The food: it's great! The noodles are always perfect, and they have a very good selection to choose from. They also have a very extensive vegan section with fake chicken and beef options!! I ordered the beef vermicelli with spring rolls the other day and it totally hit the spot. I'm trying to eat less meat, so having something tasty and easy to get is very important right now. Service: friendly. I mean, at this moment the "service" is literally me saying "picking up for Elaine" and getting my order, but they're friendly. Packaging: This is kind of a huge deal right now during pandemic times. Their packaging is beautifully designed with their signature illustrations. On the bottom of the takeout box it says in BIG letters "This packaging is recyclable", which alleviates SOME of my environmental guilt from getting single-use containers so much. I was really craving some bun (vermicelli) one day, so we decided to get takeout. The Vietnamese place right up the street is closed on Mondays (and my cravings just so happened to land on a Monday). After doing my research, we settled on ordering from Toronto Pho. We were not disappointed. The portions were excellent and the food was tasty. We got grilled pork, spring roll and shredded pork skin vermicelli (added an extra spring roll, since I love the spring rolls in this dish). It really hit the spot. After seeing how people rave about their pad Thai, I was curious and had to order one as well. We ordered pad Thai with shrimp and chicken, which comes with tofu as well. Let me be very clear: This is NOT authentic pad Thai, but it is still a delicious noodle dish. Having grown up in Thailand, my biggest gripe about pretty much every pad Thai dish I have had in North America is how sweet it is. This one was not overly sweet and had a distinct taste of lemongrass which, again not authentic, was surprisingly enjoyable. It was a cold, windy night and even though there's a Vietnamese joint just steps away, I decided to order in some food from a joint that I'd never tried before. I probably should've stuck with my tried and true restaurant, the always-reliable Star King. I always order pretty much the exact same thing when I grab Vietnamese, so it's no surprise that I opted to get the Grilled Beef and Spring Roll Vermicelli (Bún Bò Chả Giò). It arrived a short time later and the first thing I noticed was how small the portion was. This is a dish I associate with indulgence, as it usually comes packed with vermicelli and assorted components like lettuce and cucumber (and the meat, of course). I dumped all the food into a bowl much smaller than what I would usually use, but there was still plenty of space left over. But how did it taste, you're asking? Well, the vermicelli was so overcooked that it was basically mushy and the meat was riddled with tough, inedible pieces. The meat did, at least, boast a nice char flavor from the grill, and the accompanying fish sauce helped tie the whole thing together. Maybe my mistake was not ordering pho from a place with the word "pho" in its name. But that doesn't give them the right to completely phone in their other dishes. read more

This past weekend I was invited to Toronto pho restaurant to try their food. I was also super excited to get my hands on their drinks as I have been hearing raving reviews about how amazing their drinks were and defintely couldn't miss the chance to try it. I got the Thai iced coffee and boy was I impressed with it! The coffee was super smooth and I could have drank a litre of it literally. While it was a strong flavor it wasn't overpowering like some places and didn't have that burnt aftertaste. I would return just for the drinks alone it was that good!! The portions were super generous and the box was big and heavy! Defintely a plus in my books. I totally get why this restaurant is so popular. Post lockdown the most restaurants I visited was not so very crowded, but this one was even on an weekday late afternoon. The food is super yummy! I tried two seafood noodle plates mainly. Shrimp Pad Thai - It was on point on taste and looks, perfect saucy and spicy, very flavorful! There were tofu along with shrimp, and I thought of throwing the tofu but it came out to be so tasty, it was very well fried and coated in the sauces. Also tried Stir Fried Soft Egg Noodle with Seafood - This was a lighter one, and it also came out to be good, that Crunchy Noodles, I loved it! It had several seafoods and veggies. I have tried many pho restaurants around GTA area, and Toronto Pho is definitely on my top 5. Unlike other pho restaurants, their meats have better quality and you can really taste it with the first bite. For the appetizers, I ordered their spring rolls and cold grilled chicken roll. They are not only delicious but their portion size is relatively larger than other restaurants. I highly recommend their appetizer if you are coming hangry. For the main course, I ordered their sizzling beef plate. I fell in love with their sauce instantly as it has the right balance of flavor. The only negative (on the price point) is their drink menu where it costs over $5 for their dripped coffee. The stir fried beef was really dry and tough, and the crispy spring rolls are basically filled entirely with taro, making the inside mushy and not very flavourful. Unfortunately the Spring Rolls had a really weird taste like I can't describe except to say like dirty socks? I called a server over to tell her & she told me "They're Vegetable". Omg. The pad Thai is to die for!!! I walked in and was immediately greeted by 2 girls working behind the counter which I thought was really nice. Got the chicken and shrimp pad Thai as take out. It was spicy, and soo good. I also tried their matcha juice and I got the boyfriend taro juice (they were overly sweet..) We tried this new place tonight and it was PACKED! We were seated very quickly and the server took our order within 5-10 mins. We ordered the Shrimp Wontons (WOULD definitely order again!), the spicy pho, and the noodles with grilled chicken. The spicy pho was spicy for sure, but not spicy for the sake of it - lots of good flavour. The grilled chicken was really good as well. This is a decent Pho restaurant because I ordered a Pho Dac Biet and a milk tea with tapioca. The Pho was okay and the milk tea so SWEET, it didn't even taste like milk tea. The restaurant didn't even offer us water or tea like a typical Pho restaurant would.
