We stumbled upon this place and we are so glad we did. We greatly enjoy the seafood in Mazatlan, so tortas wasn't in our plan. However, the charming front patio appealed to us and we were hungry. We went inside and found two friendly ladies hard at work, getting all the fresh ingredients ready. We ordered the veggie special (huitlacoche), the 'pierna adobada' and the Milanesa La Republica. They were all very good and the hibiscus drink (rosa de jamaica) was perfect! Not too sweet, cold and not too weak or too strong. The serrano chiles are served on the side, no need to worry about the food being too spicy. The colorful umbrella kept us in the shade, the music played was good and not too loud, the tall plants make you forget you're seating by a busy street. read more
