Not the best burrito in the world but a pleasant and very welcome addition to the world of Canary Wharf lunches!

Good Mexican food if you want a chipotle style salad bowl or burrito. Very good value for money as well.

Pretty nice breakfast/brunch spot offering a wide array of American classics. I ordered The All…read moreAmerican (16.75 GBP), which was a typical combo of pancakes, bacon, homestyle potatoes, a sausage, and two fried eggs. It was rather plain/ordinary but certainly not bad. I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. She also waited until I actually got my food to bring me my water. Overall, The Breakfast Club is a solid option for breakfast/brunch in Canary Wharf with pretty much any of the classics that you could want.

My quest for breakfast nearly turned into brunch due to my questionable navigation skills and…read more(shocker) rain. In my defense there are several rivers/canals I could be walking toward. I just kept finding the wrong one, but TBC made it worth the wait. For those seeking "a little more conversation", stop at the bar for the friendly experience you'd expect. Today I headed upstairs to the VIP Section. Unlike my wife who never saw a pancake she wanted to go home with, I like a menu with plenty of pancake choices. And bonus points if not too many are "exotic" such as cake disguised as compote-smothered confectioners-sugar-laced trendy-named items. Just get me some sort of flapjack with or without fruit. Bonus points if you have short and tall (long?) stacks. And double-bonus if you print "flapjack" on the menu. Enough about the pancakes (my wife is saying). She doesn't even like breakfast so don't listen to her (she'd skip if I weren't always dragging her out somewhere for it). Her loss. But just one more pancake point: I got the blueberry short stack. It wasn't epic but it was a solid +6-7. That works, given my earlier frou-frou comments. I couldn't tell and maybe the maple syrup was imported from Canada (eh), but we are spoilt with our Vermont supply. So no points gained/lost there. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.

Dinner here worked in a pinch, but I wouldn't go back…read more We ate during the Friday night rush, and it was busy. Understandably, service was slow. Overall, the food and drink were just not good. We ordered a plate of sharing nachos and the vegetarian jambalaya, and were completely underwhelmed by each dish. The portion of nachos is indeed meant to be shared, but unfortunately was almost all chips (which had a weird Dorito-like powder dusted on them, unlike the complimentary chips we received when we sat down. Plain chips would have been much more palatable.) and only the tiniest smattering of cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, chili, and sour cream. Good nachos require balanced proportions.. and these were very unbalanced. The jambalaya was okay, definitely edible but nothing particularly appealing about it. The mojito we ordered was mostly just crushed ice - like a mound of it heaping out of the glass. If I wanted a sno-cone, I would have ordered one. Very weak drink, made annoying by the huge mound of ice. The interior of the restaurant is very cute, and the bathroom (the ladies' room, anyway) was bright, colorful and clean. But because I become a repeat customer based more on the food than the atmosphere, I won't be coming back.

My cousin and I debated whether to give this place a rating of two stars or not rate it at all. I…read moredon't like giving low ratings as every business deserves a chance but this time, it wasn't just me. Situated before the entrance of the O2, next to cafe rouge, is this Mexican/Cuban restaurant. Now, I've had plenty of South American food as I have South American relatives. What I know and what is served here is nowhere close. There is a wait, luckily we had only a five minutes wait as people seemed to prefer other restaurants nearby. What if it was busier than it was? I love it when food comes in no time but here, I wanted to send the food back. We ordered the 'Sweet chilli jam burger' and as per every advertisement, I expect the food to come out looking like the picture. This one somehow did but I cannot comprehend why the jam looked like gelatine, the bread too soft that is crumbles as one takes a bite and the chips slightly cold and not crispy enough. To top it all, the drinks came within 10 minutes as the food came within 5 minutes of ordering and the drinks (cocktails which are meant to contain alcohol), tasted of juice. I am not an alcoholic and don't like too much vodka or rum in my drink but I can definitely tell when there is too little! I didn't pay £8 for that... I wanted to rate this place due to the service. The staff were friendly and attentive-I guess that really matters? Sometimes a quick fix becomes a quick hole to the pocket. Not my cup of tea, or shall I say 'tasteless alcohol'. Taco Bell in the USA might be a better choice...

When I got to my hotel, I asked the man who checked me in for a recommendation of a good place to eat, so I responded to him with a question. I asked him if he were not working right now, and were out with his mates, where would he choose to eat? He looked at me with big eyes and asked really? I told him emphatically yes! He asked me if there was any food I didn't like, and I told him if I ever missed food, I didn't understand the question. So he told me to try this place, and asked if I was OK to go for a little walk. I was happy to. When I walked into this place I found it to be a corner neighborhood, fish and chip shop and it was very busy. To me this is a very good sign. I got there about 6:30, and I got desk clerk friend recommended, which was the fried sausage with chips and some curry sauce. I also added a cod fillet because I wanted to try the fish as well. The curry sauce and the sausage together were amazing! Oh, did I mention that the curry sauce was amazing?! Oh ya, I already told you how amazing the curry sauce was!! The fish was very good as well, the chips were spot on, and the curry sauce lifted everything on the plate to a new level for me. The curry sauce was nice and spicy and had a very full and rich flavor. As I sat and ate my meal, the place continued to bustle with people coming and going taking away food, and a few people sat down and ate as well. There are only a few tables in the place but they were all full the entire time I ate there and they must've served a dozen customers during the time that I ate. This place gets full marks for friendly service, smiling faces, EXCELLENT food, and all around great experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal. It is definitely a neighborhood staple and has a quaint ambience. A little out of the way for most casual eaters but if you want a delicious sausage, with curry sauce, look no further! Just GO for the curry sauce and stay for everything else!

They also do things like mushy peas and curry sauce along with the usual pasties and pies and saveloys. The place is always clean and the staff are well presented. Watch out for traffic wardens if you are in a vehicle as they hide along this stretch.
